Ever since i installed a program (i forgot which one, but it was some plug in or something), i started getting these annoying pop ups ads once in a while. Is there anyway i can clean those up so they won't pop up anymore?

Hmm.. You could try un-installing the program.
Or, get a pop-up blocker, when you get a yahoo or google toolbar
Yahoo --> http://toolbar.yahoo.com/
Google --> http://toolbar.google.com/
Heh.
Or you could update your IE, to be the service pack 2. (:
:happy:
I use Lavasoft Ad-Aware (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-5) and Spybot (http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1) to remove adware and spyware. And the frequency in pop-ups have decreased (I hate pop-ups!).
Anyway sean-eka's suggestion of the toolbars work too. So you could try that too.

I think it must be spyware that causes this. So other than spybot and ad-aware software to remove spyware, you can also have microsoft antispyware program and spyware blaster. And maybe you can use firefox as a browsing program as its more secure and get less popups when compared to ie.

Then maybe its because of some programs that you installed, what kind of popups are you getting? From which url.
You'll have to format the hard disk to ensure that 100% of the spywares in your computer is removed. That's what I did when I had the same problem as yours some time ago, in which I can't remove pop ups even if I tried to scan my computer with Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot.
Of course you'll have to back up all your files in your PC as formatting will delete all your files.
Or try to use Zone Alarm (http://www.zonealarm.com/). It's a firewall program and It will alert you when there are some suspicious programs or processes running in your PC.
I'll also recommend you to upgrade to Windows XP SP2 cos it has more security features.
Hope these helps! ;)
