i see that the old thread reached 500 posts, so i'm going to start a new one (since Gary disappeared again =P)

yes, i've watched the Ye Qu MV just now and it is filmed in NYC! :excited:

i only recognize a shot from downtown Manhattan and the Brooklyn bridge. anyone else recognize other scenes?

hmm, i thought he was in Central Park also, but i'm not 100% certain. i'll have to watch the MV a few more times to see if i can figure it out >.<

It's definitely NYC. The grave scene was shot I believe near the Brookyln/Queens Kosciusko bridge because I used to pass it every day to school. The bridge he drives over is definitely the Brooklyn Bridge, he definitely walks around in Central Park, and the buildings he stands in front of for the taxi, it looks like Brooklyn to me but I'm not 100% there. I'm actually more upset that I know the location of the MV than if I didn't because I wasn't there T_T;;

oooohh...thanks for the naming of the locations. The bridges were obvious, just the cemetry and the apartment buildings were not.

It's cool to know that he was actually in New York and spent time in places we pass by...

i agree with illusionanqel- it is the Brooklyn Bridge...is that really central park?? wow...i didn't know that...but illusionanqel..like piggie said wayyy long ago....he was filming early in the morning..so i doubt that you would have know to go then anyways.....

i just watched the mv. wow i wouldn't even believe it was filmed in ny if it wasnt for the bridge sign and such in the beginning >< i dont know ny at all haha. i'm sooo loving the song. very catchy and new. can't wait to get his cd! haha yes and i recognize those clothes!!! lol pretty mad now that I didnt get to stalk him and get his autograph...

hey guys, rememer me :wave: i havent been here for like...a LOnGGGG time, but being a ny-er, i have to admit that im SOOOOOOOOOO FREAKIN happy and proud that jay chose our city to shoot the MV for his hit [ye qu]

okay so here are some of the other things i spotted...
1. at the very very beginning of the MV there was like half a sec of the high way sign "E 42 St"...which they shot on their way back to the hotel [from bklyn to manhattan]

2. when they were going to the cemetery in bklyn [its the huge one on the border of queens and bklyn-4got the name of it :shy: ], they took the "bklyn-queens expressway"..im so proud that i reconized this part hehehehe xD anyway i reconized it from the background after the car made the big turn. and plus, to get to that cemetary from his hotel, that is the closest and fastest route :happy:

3. the park scene wasn't central park!!! if u look at the buildings in the background closely, u would see...obviously this MV was shot in different segmets, some scenes were shot earlier in nyc, while others were added on later. why im so sure :brows: hehe reason is--he couldnt have time to change clothes...and not to mention it would be freezing our poor adorable jay's butt off to change under the outside temperature at that time [end of december] and i doubt the 'singing on the rooftop of the apt building' was shot in nyc as well, cuz they obviously they tried to match the black jacket he wore earlier in nyc, only the diff is he wore a fabric coat when he was here, and in the MV he wore a leather jacket...well this last one is my doubt

Piggie: Yeah, the Koscisuko bridge is the bridge that goes over the cemetery. Anyway, the one part where they're all standing around the park in the beginning, they're clearly at Central Park.

the bklyn-queens expressway..is that the 278? and the cemetary..is it the one that has the Jackie Robinson pkwy going through it? probably not..

yeah..there were definitely two different parks in the video. The one of the old memories was Central Park and the other one were Jay sits on the park bench and in the black jacket...dunno where that is.

and the apt. buildings is so hard to see....only see a firehouse and some recycling bins..

jessica I watched the behind the scenes too!!!! There were so many people at the rink and people realllll near Jay when he was sitting on the rocks. It looked like it was around 4-5 because the sky was getting dark! Wondered if he was attacked by fans???

my mom helped me ask the cd store today, they said it'll be comin on the 2nd or 3rd. aww =( gotta wait an extra two days. and the lady that works in the shop said she'll be giving me a free poster!!! hehehhehehe =)
oh btw, the cd store that i asked is the one...um..next to the abandoned theater in chinatown.

hey guys i went to chinatown today, i was walkin around cd shops. went to 2 cd shops, both were playin the jay cd when i walked in .. lol

and thers this one store that gives you a free poster when you buy the cd. the cd was like $17.95, so if you guys still didnt get the cd yet, go to the store next to 9 lung chong .. the one on the corner...thats the one that gives the free poster =)

christian+diana: the piano score is for a piece of classical music, although im not 100% sure whether it's one of the Nocturnes composed by Chopin, but i guess that would be a very reasonable idea, right? and plus, the music notes look kind of similar to Chopin-composed style

i didnt like misa THAT much, not as much as everyone else did... i loved the ending though but i didnt shed a tear throughout the entire drama. a love to kill is alright as of now. i'm just watching for bi <33. waiting for the subs to be released ^^

yES!!! finally bought the new album. I bought it at the place on the corner, near the Manhattan Bridge, and the Fung Wah bus. I asked them about the free poster, and the lady said that they stopped doing that and I had to pay money to get a poster. And the CD wasn't 17.95...it was only 15.95...

yes...I did go to chinatown. But to take the buses, and I didn't know that it would be THAT crowded. people were packed on mott and chatham square watching the firecrackers and lion dancing. and there were a lot of white people too...and all the restaurants were so packed!!!! I had to push through people to get to the bus...and the confetti popper thingys were going off constantly!

haha yea they let you your camera. i even saw some people with camcorders. i would think THAT was illegal but guess not. The security guards were pretty nice towards the end because they didnt send us back to our seats when we got up to get a close up (i think because my friend was nice and apologized to the security guard haha). yup rain did strip for us!!!! actually these 3 hot dancer chicks started grindign with him and then pulled his shirt off. in one part he was in the "rain" and was signing topless *drools*. really really hot haha. but i'm sure i would be drooling more if it was Jay or LeeHom ;)

Where do you guys get your nails or hair done? Do you know of salons that are nice but are affordable? You can name prices too (especially manicure, pedicure and other stuff..). Anywhere near manhattan I guess. Oh, and do salons there give gift certificates?

i think theres this pretty decent hair salon on 8 ave in brooklyn near 54st?. i have to look up the name and address. I went there for the last cut and i guess i'm pretty satisfied. i'm one of those salon hoppers since so many salons open near where i live. there's probably like 10+ salons near me within a 1 mile radius >< its really crazy yet they still continue to open. there's this place where i've been wanting to try for a while now (i think its on elizabeth street? between hester) it really stands out and looks pretty fancy. but i'm afraid the price is too much. i've never gotten my nails done before =x i have catty nails, always scratching stuff haha. but are there any nail salons in chinatown? i dont think i've ever seen one o_O

i didnt really like ijuksa that much. too complicated ><. but rain did look really really really hot haha and his acting was superb. i loved the way he cried with so much emotion that snot and saliva began to drip and all over the unfortunate victim. the ending was kind of stupid too. it seemed so random and pointless. i liked the misa ending soooo much better.

haha my pics were okay because the security let us run up (thank god). but i definitely want a new camera. i saw someone's pics online (alicias? i dont remember) who had also had $80 tickets and her pictures were soooo nice because of her awesome zoom.

piggie: aaah! wasn't IJUKSA a beautiful drama? not one of the best works by the writer, but it was still good and it got me thinking throughout. i never concentrated on a drama's plot and dialogue so much before @.@ the event that led to the ending was unexpected, but that's the only way for them "to be together" ><...if you have time, you can read back a few pages from the IJUKSA thread and i explained the ending from my point of view.
i can't believe you would fall for him after watching this rather than in FH :D the concerts were the bestest ever! :excited: i had a wonderful time, but i enjoyed the 2nd night more since i was at the front :cloud9:

christina: you can look for pictures at sexy bi and rain_international. there are a few posted in his pics thread here ^^ mine came out blurry, but i'll see which ones are presentable and post more up later on ^^;

fanny: hehe, IJUKSA doesn't appeal to the general audience =P you have to have patience and analyze each episode to appreciate the flow of the story. i'd prefer the ending to Sangdoo and MISA over this also. the story was changed a bit towards the middle-end, and i don't know how much it affected the ending :oops:

oh i went to the kelly concert today. it was a last minute thing really. i didn't enjoy myself that much because i was tricked into believing i had pretty good tickets when infact i had the worst tickets imagined. and i'm not a kelly fan AND i get motion sickness so it was a pretty bad day for me =( it was a good thing i didn't puke although i had the most horrible stomach ache throughout the entire concert. i didn't even finisht eh concert because i had to catch the bus ><. her concert seemed pretty short (although i didnt even finish watching the whole thing haha) but her dresses were BEAUTIFUL! they all shined so nicely with the lighting and she looked like one of those limited edition princess barbies. she didnt sing as many of her songs as i expected and she didnt sing any of the ones that i liked (which is very few).
so how was the jolin concert? i saw some pics and she seemed pretty .... revealing in her outfits (push up bras and short shorts?)

I went to the 2pm Kelly concert and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. First of all, most of the people going to the concert didn't seem interested at all. They were probably most of the people who get free tickets for gambling at Mohegan Sun. People didn't clap and it was not a fun atmosphere. Her dresses were really pretty and her live singing was good, but she didn't have AN ENCORE!!! People were leaving during the last song, so I guess she thought it was pointless....but me and my friends still screamed ENCORE and waited.....

It was funny during the fast songs when she told people to dance and this obsessed Kelly guy fan stood up and started dancing.

I definitely liked Jay's concert so much more.

yea i saw alot of empty seats on the bottom. it wasn't as filled as the jay concert and the atmosphere was alot more relaxed/dead. no jumping fans, not as many screaming fans. haha i saw alot of people leaving towards the end cuz they had to catch the bus. if only she started alittle earlier. i didn't want to miss the ending but i didn't want to miss the bus either =(. i wonder if she'll want to come back haha.
one thing i remember was when the fan offered her the easter basket of candy she didnt say thankyou... or did she? i dont think she did. it was kind of rude of her even though she told the fan to eat it. and i didnt like how she was resting and drinking on the stage between songs. it didnt seem very professional...

hey everyone, it's been a while! I've missed out on all of the New York happenings this past month because I was in HONG KONG =D And I went touring with the HongThai Travel Group. I didn't even know there was a blackout in NY until my tourguide told me haha =x I just got back to NY yesterday and saw on the NYTimes that the power in Queens was fixed but now it's Staten Island's turn. Oh man must really stink for them. But at least it's not so hot (well yesterday and today wasn't so bad). Hong Kong weather is alot worst (with the humidity you'll be drenched in sweat within minutes). I remember the black out in 2003 haha it was great =)
Anywho, I'm pretty pissed off I didn't see any celebrities worth seeing during my trip. I just read that Jay Chou went to Hangzhou to film? or something. I was there too!!! Arg if only my tour group went a few days later I might've seen him. And I think LeeHom might've been in Shanghai the day I was leaving =O Noooo =( I missed him too. But at least I saw... Patrick Tse Yin? =/ at the Beijing airport, and I saw some ATV actor (Geoffrey Wong) at Admiralty (snob).
I miss Hong Kong. Although the weather here is a bit better and the water, no doubt about it is ALOT cleaner, Hong Kong has a better environment and is soooo much more modern! I fell love at first sight with their trains and I love how everything seems so much safer (people don't look as suspicious). After traveling to another country, you finally understand why New Yorkers are given the stereotype of being rude, self centered, and BUSY. I can't wait to go back to HK =)

the blackout in 2003 was crazy. I was in a building's 15th floor and the electircity went out. i had to climb down the stairs and we all used our cell phones as lights. and I hitched a ride with a friend and the Bklyn Bridge was jammed. When the car stopped, I felt the bridge move!

I know HK weather isn't all that great in comparison, but at least HK doesn't have power outages like NY!!!

hello...im not from NY, but i've gone there a couple of times. my family was about to settle there when we first came to the US, but we changed our minds and went to Virginia. i just went up there for only a day about 3 weeks ago. went to NYC's chinatown =D it was so great. feels like i went back to china hah! we went to visit Columbia University with my older sister. that uni is so good!!! and hard to get into =(

but, i hope i'll go to NY again soon!

Hey all! Just got back from a vacation in Vancouver! It was a lot of fun...except the plane ride.
The food there was great and the malls were so Hong Kong based! but the stuff is so expensive!

apparently, Vancouver is famous for cute guys because a few of my friends told me before I went that there are a lot of cute Asian guys there.

But to my disappointment, they were not as cute as I imagined they would be. I think the guys there are very Hong Kong-ized.

the cruise wasnt BAD.... it was below my expectations tho cus i went on 4star crusise in 2004 and it was SO MUCH BETTER than this one, which was SUPPSOED to be a 5star one.. i duno, the service, the food, the rooms, the.. everything was worse than the 4star one.. it wasnt that bad though, at least i got to chillax with my cousins :)

jay's cd.. you guys got it yet? dont kill me but i downloaded it. i really wasnt plannin on buying it cus i heard it was about the same as his previous stuff, cus i was dissapointed at nov chopin last year so i thought i wouldnt buy this one, but after a couple listens, its growing on me. i might get itttt =)

NC wasn't very bad. i seem to like songs that a majority doesn't, which are his sappy ballads --; one reason i like them is because they're relaxing and i can sometimes make out more of what he's singing than in faster paced songs.

I actually checked out the CD stores in Chinatown for Jay's CD, and the price for it was around 22.99 for most stores....I don't know if it was special edition or not. But the store near the Fung Wah bus was giving posters along with the CD.

I will buy it soon....Vivan wrote a song?!!?? wow, can't wait to hear that one.

tvbaddict: uuh..it wasn't exactly those concert posters you see. It was a big big big big advertisement on the building near the Manhattan Bridge and the Fung Wah Bus stop.

The ad just listed all the concerts that were going to be held at Taj Mahal. There were no pictures...just Chinese characters. and for the Hacken and Jacky concerts, there were no special guests listed...so, I don't know if they will have special guests. I hope they will.

The Curse of the Golden Flower is showing in theaters! I went to see it yesterday with my friend (at Regal Theater on 14st Union Square). I was hoping I'd see some fellow Jay-Chou.netters LOL. There were actually quite a few ppl there (a lot of middle aged to old Jay Chou fans haha). There wasn't enough Jay screen time but I have to say his acting improved quite a lot incomparison to Initial D (which I thought was pretty amateur acting, sorry Jay) Everyone should go see it and support Jay Chou + Gong Li + Chow Yun Fat + those busty palace maids =P
