Hi! I'm really surprised to find some germans here.
I'm from munich and I have been a Jay fan since I saw Curse of the Golden Flower. The only one I know that listens to Cpop is a chinese friend of mine.
It's very annoying that you can't buy any asian music here in germany, or does anyone know a place where I could buy CDs?

Aii91
03-08-2008, 06:06 PM
No I've never heard that you can buy CDs in a shop or so.... only with internet.... but a few weeks ago i was really shocked as i found a Gackt CD.... on the cover was a notice, someone ordered the CD.... but i don't know if you can order any asian music, cause i heard that this CD was actually a special CD for all Gackt fans in europe and america.... a friend of mine tried it some months ago, they told her that they don't do this, because its too unsure that the CD isn't damaged after they order it from abroad.... i found the CD in saturn, maybe you can ask in a munich saturn if they do that....
good luck :wink2:

IsaBonita
07-28-2008, 12:14 PM
no its not possible, if the CD is not officially relased in gemany by a recod company...the japanese rock band dir en grey had a contract with a record company, which released their <album in gemrany, so one could go and buy (if its still like that...as 2 years ago)...And well in some asian shops, like in duessldorf, there are japanese shops, where one can buy japanese music CDs, but other than that i cannnot tell...and they are not as far as good as in asia...but yesasia saves me everytime...

oh and fo chinese music like from tw, i have never seen anything like that, maybe only japanese...too bad

Flo!
08-27-2008, 08:55 PM
It's not easy being a fan of asian music in Germany... Thank god there is Yesasia and some occasional vacations in Asia! But it's not only that you don't get any CDs here or can go to concerts, for me it's sometimes frustrating that there is no one who shares my interest in asian music, at least no one that I personally know...

I can't agree more with you Flo! !!!
It's really not easy being a fan of asian artists here.. which I think is really sad  the other germans here don't even know what they are missing

I'm still hoping that we'll be able to buy asian albums (other than japanese ones) here in Europe someday.. we need to find some nice opportunities to promote all those awesome artists!

oh man.. that must be hard... can't you just infect some of your friends or family members? it worked out for me... but yeah.. I'm half asian so there's at least a little bit of relation

Well, my closest friends know Jay Chou and even admitted that some songs I played to them are "ok", but they show no interest at all. So when we're driving in my car I keep on playing asian music (not only Jay), but they just role their eyes and make annoyed grunts...

I hope that when I'm gonna start studying chinese next year, there will be some people who share my taste in music and till then I enjoy it by myself!

Hi everyone. Another german arrived on the JC.net.

I'm a Jay Chou greenie and live in Munich. I start listen to Jay's songs 1 month ago. I was born and raised in Germany but my origin is turkish. Glad to see some Germans here.

Flo!
09-29-2008, 09:09 PM
Welcome! always glad to hear from german jay-fans, especially when they're from munich! how did you come across jay?

Justice
09-29-2008, 09:49 PM
I've heard from Jay the first time from a little boy who spends some time with an asian girl who is a Jay Fan. This was some weeks ago. Since then i can't stop to hear to his songs. Actually i don't know much about him. I tried to learn something more and ended up here.

Flo!
09-29-2008, 10:12 PM
do you just know herbalist's manual or did you listen to some more of his songs?

Justice
09-29-2008, 11:17 PM
Meanwhile i listened to a lot of is songs and have some favs too. I only started with Herbalist's Manual. I love the MV!
Last week i saw Initial D and yesterday i watched Secret.

Flo!
09-30-2008, 09:00 PM
ah, secret is very good! you should watch kung fu dunk, i think you can really see his improvement as an actor. and, one of my favourites, curse of the golden flower.

Justice
09-30-2008, 09:44 PM
Oh i forgot! I have already watched curse of the golden flower but at that time i don't kno who Jay is and didn't notice him much. :shy:

When do you became a Jay fan?

Flo!
09-30-2008, 10:16 PM
i first saw jay watching curse of the golden flower early 2007 and liked the movie's song ju hua tai by jay and downloaded some of his songs, about 15.
i didn't listen to them much, but last september on my vacation in thailand i saw a making of for his mv to ye de di qi zhang and that was when i became a fan. and now i only listen to chinese and korean music...
so to answer your question: one year :-)

are there any other asian artists you like, or is it just jay?

Currently i'm listening only to Jay. Besides asian music i love to watch Hong Kong movies. Don't have a special favorite but like Shawn Yue, Nicholas Tse, Edison Chen, Donnie Yen and Stephen Chow a lot. What about you?

asian cinema is the best! my favourite actor is Tony Leung, but there are many talented actors i really like. if you enjoy Hong Kong movies, there is the "Asia Filmfest" here in Munich. it takes place from october 30th to november 9th in the "Mathäser" and "Gloria". they show recent movies from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan...

Oh yes i know. I will watch some of the movies for sure. Will you attend too?

Flo!

absolutely! unfortunately, they haven't revealed what movies they're gonna show yet :-x nevertheless, i'm really looking forward to it and i hope i won't have to work then...

these are last year's films :-) i graduated from school (gymnasium) this year and i started my "zivildienst" one month ago. i accompany a disabled student to university and help him, stuff like that.
what do you do?

Really? Ok i'm sorry then. I'm working in the distribution. I don't know the english word of "betreue". But ich betreue germany-wide Media Markt and Saturn. Sorry for mixing the language but i didn't know how to say that in english.

Flo!

ah, ok. i know, it would be much easier to just write in german...
did you tell your friends about jay? how did they react?

Justice
10-03-2008, 01:35 AM
Yes i told some friends about Jay but they aren't interested much and they're thinking that i lost some marbles. :shy:
To cut a long story short i'm all alone. But i'm used to it. Concerning to my weakness for asia movies i'm also alone. No one who understands me and shares my passion. In addition i'm a girl and that makes it harder to find someone who have the same faible like you. :worry:

What about you? Some friends who are also Jay fans or also alone like me.

Flo!

lost some marbles... very good!
absolutely the same with me, they can't understand my taste in music and movies. it's that about one year ago, i completely switched from "normal" music to asian stuff. but i'm ok with it, since there are some fans in germany too, and i know that i'm not the only one.
although it's sometimes hard not to have someone around you to talk about it...
the other thing is, like i mentioned earlier in this forum, that there are no cds etc. available in germany/europe and that it's very unlikely that jay or some other singer will come to europe for a concert. :-x

Justice

Hmm yes. It would be great if Jay could give a concert in Europe but i'm afraid that we are not lucky enough for that.

I feel the same way like you. On the net you can find a lot people who shares the same passion but it es another thing if you have someone around you. At least one person would do it right?

But i'm happy that i found someone like you who is from the same city like me. That opens up new possibilities.

I agree! I was really happy to meet someone from Munich :yeah:
if you want, we could go see a movie at the filmfest together...

Justice
10-03-2008, 01:01 PM
Why not? That would be great. Let's stay in touch. In which part of munich do you stay?

Flo!
10-03-2008, 01:15 PM
i live in pasing, and you?
now we have to wait till the filmlist comes out. would be great if they showed kung fu dunk!

so what is it that makes you like jay? his music, his movies?

Justice
10-04-2008, 05:00 PM
Definitely his music and he as a person. The way he is. His voice when he speaks or sings. Can listen to him even when he reads from a telephone book. Hihi

What abou you?

Flo!
10-04-2008, 05:03 PM
 telephonebook
for me it's the diversity of his music, he is active in all music genres and i'm really impressed that he writes all of his songs himself.

Justice
10-04-2008, 05:13 PM
Oh yes. He's indeed an extraordinary person and he put a spell on me. I'm very impressed how popular he is. Here in western regions it's hard to come across personalities like Jay. But fortunately there are forums like this on the net where you can find a ton of information and get to know people with the same addiction.

Flo!
10-04-2008, 05:22 PM
same with me! i'm glad there are places like JCnet where you can exchange your thoughts and talk to people about asian stuff.
and i'm especially happy to have met someone from munich! :yeah:

I've read somewhere that you have been in Hong Kong. What where your experiences there?

Flo!
10-04-2008, 05:52 PM
it was really cool! they have many great malls with huge cd-shops, they're like paradise for every fan of asian music. i was in hong kong when they did the charity-concert for the earthquake in may. but unfortunately, i didn't know about that before :ranting: i watched it on tv and was wondering "what is that? is that live?" i only found out about it when i was back home
do you wanna visit china?

Flo!
12-07-2008, 12:34 PM
:hmm: i searched for it on half a dozen websites of online book stores, but all i could find was this http://www.amazon.de/Krabat/dp/5813807640/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books-intl-de&qid=1228649298&sr=1-1 it is in the english books section, but it says russian as language... there are some non-amazon offers, but they start at around 65$. sorry i couldn't help
