Well, this was the last discussion from part 1:
Kaki lima is a simpulan bahasa, just like kaki bangku or ayam tambatan or 'telinga kuali'...
many people dunno this but 'meninggal dunia' is also a simpulan bahasa. We used it too regularly that people thought that it's just another common wordings

i knw that it's a sort of proverb..
but never thought tht it is actually a simpulan bahasa..

dun worry... lots of malays dunno this neither.... I only come to know it when I was in form 4, when I read it in a 'simpulan bahasa' collection book. Imagine that!

some even take it as an 'Islamic term', by which they use it for muslims (like the word 'jenazah' and 'arwah'). Once I scold my friend because she was in difficulty to find the right word to express her Indian friend's death. I was like 'Meninggal dunia!'. and she was like 'but that is for muslim only' and I was like 'says who? it's simpulan bahasa, u dummy! It's not even in arabic!' (okay, i exaggerate, i didn't say the 'dummy' word).

many malays also dunno 'meninggal dunia' is a simpulan bahasa... so, we're all victims... hehe

Merdeka is the Malay word used for independence, just meaning that we are no longer depending on other nations like the British to run our country as they did decades ago. Zainou, u are an 'independent' guy coz u live in an independent country, and all the decisions our country makes are made by fellow Malaysians, do you understand? If we are under the rule of foreigners, we might not be living very good lives in the angle of treatments, as taught in History at school...

Takde maknenyeeee -> mostly when people are saying things that we dun or would not do. eg: "If u like him, marry him then..."
"Him? Takde maknenye..."

Belasah aje -> Usually when you just go on and do sth even when ur not so sure
eg: "How was my exam? Belasah aje"

Praaap -> Post Akademi Fantasia favourite word... have the same meaning with ;"Tensen!" "Sabar ajela".... like US kids use the word 'Whatever!"
originally came from the word 'Perap' that is taken to mean "Geram"

This is said to those who do things aggressively or too enthusiatic... got it from that word they usedin the newpapers talking about that steward that did a porn movie of his own; 'Pramugara terlampau'.... I like this word...haha

Sangap actually means sleepy, but I dunno whatsup with people, they use it for a replacement for 'moron, or idiot'

My Bahasa Malaysia teacher is really spoon-feeds us. She gives us the answers to EVERYTHING. How am I going to sit for my exams like this?? Especially for essay writing. I never had to think of facts to put in coz she gave us all. I know this is a real good thing, but I don't learn this way!! I'm only good at elaborating now.

an info on the word 'berkahwin'. although in bahasa melayu 'berkahwin' means marry, in Indonesia, berkahwin means living together without marriage. So, if a married couple were asked, better answer 'bernikah'....

Alhamdullilah is actually an Arabic word. It means All praises 2 God which also mean Thank God!

Materewok The song tht u hv heard is sang by Too Phat feat. Yassin. Its a hip-hop genre. More like Wai Po by Jay Chou. it has 2 versions. One is the malay version n the other is in English. Personally, I feel tht the English version in the best! The Malay version has the beginning and the end a poem recited by a popular Indonesian actress who is also the lead actress in Ada Apa dengan Cinta. It is said tht the actress was the gf of a member of Too Phat. Man!! I do know a lot, don't i?

hari ni senangnya hidup aku. Exam hari tuh dahla susah nak mampos, mampos pun taksusah macam ni. Pastu si riaz (lecturer aku) plak pi ketuk2 meja exam aku, ingat lawak sangatla... kata soalan ada lima, jawab tiga. sekali tengok, ada empat je, siap ada soalan compulsory pulak tu... taik betul la lecturer aku ni! Hmm. Eventhough I'm also taking SPM, I don't agree with what andantino said. It's more like Sijil Penentu Masa Depan. =P

SPM is the key to success wei! Your future! SPM is much more important than other examinations. Of course, STPM is another story. So no matter your result is good or bad, it's very important.

So, think the positive way. :happy: After SPM, MERDEKA! :D But I'll miss my school life very very much. Now already missing like crazy! :worry:

i agree that ALL exams we take thorough out our studies is important..
cause it can determine whether what is our next stepping stone
or further development..
if you're saying that it's penentu masa depan..
then i can tell you sth.. i fails miserably in my SPM (some of the papers)
but i did work hard in my higher level paper.. and i excel in it..

ermm, a pantun rhymes a-b-a-b. the 1st line rhymes with the 3rd and the 2nd rhymes with the 4th..1st and 2nd line is the pembayang which means nth..the 3rd and 4th line is the maksud which is the whoole meaning of the pantun....a sajak has no pembayang, all is the meaning...and its not neccessaryly be rhyming,bebas-free..

neway, in pantun, u have to follow the rima... the (i forgot what to call it in english...) tone or sth... like last time Zainou used only 'fa ru xue' I think cuma ada 3 sukukata, can't use that...it have no rima, so that's why I said Zainou's rapping instead of berpantun. u have to have more... like 9 to 10 sukukata...

eg: Ka-lau e-mak per-gi ke ke-dai (9)
or 'Pu-lau pan-dan ja-uh ke te-ngah

so when you make a pantun, you can make a song out of it...

eg:
'Ka-lau e-mak per-gi ke ke-dai, (9)
Be-likan sa-ya se-bu-ku ro-ti, (10)
Ka-lau tu-an o-rang yang pan-dai (9)
bi-na-tang a-pa ke-ris di ka-ki?" (10)
