Satoshi Tsumabuki
妻夫木 聡(つまぶき さとし)

Born: 13th December 1980, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan
Height: 171cm
Weight: 55kg
Go here (http://www.horipro.co.jp/hm/tsumabuki/) for his official site

okok- i know some of you die-hard kimutaku fans might throw tomatoes at me for deeming tsuma as the'new'wasabi cutie- please forgive me- ah, look guys, one pic says it all:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v489/Chandie/1119542194.jpg
isn't his adorability like...5 stars+++?!?! (courtesy of vivamigos)

he's been the adorable guy in stuff like Sixty-nine, Waterboys, yaku 30 no uso, joze, the tiger and the fish, BlackJack ni Yoroshiku, the beautiful orange days, most recently slow dance etcetc- can't wait to watch it!
to reaffirm my little thesis (that tsuma may be the new/another kimutaku- i'm taking much care in the phrasing here for you sensitive k.t. fans out there :-) ) his 'slow dance' had actually taken up engine's prime time slot after it finished! AND (i'm just drawing crazy links now) he's coming up in a new movie 'Haru no Yuki' opposite the girl who played Aki in Pride!

they are both really really adorable, do doubt about that; but with kimutaku's cuteness comes suaveness and coolness- tsuma is different, i think! he's just plain cute. plain adorable. argh- i better stop ranting!

i suppose there's no such thing as 'replacement'- but if i look at tsuma as an individual unit/object- he's cute from all perspectives!
if you guys want a little dose of tsumabuki's cuteness go here (http://www.kirin.co.jp/brands/komugi/cm.html) - and click on the 1:16CM link- it's a Kirin beer ad link where he's talking to himself and he acts out his whole family- and i promise you'll fall under his chooooo kawaii spell!

i can't help but leave you guys (for now) with one more adorable pic :shifty:

haha... D.. you finally open a thread on our dear Tsumabuki-san.
Though I really prefer older and more mature Japanese most of the time, Tsumabuki-san's boyish cuteness is just something I can't get enough of...

I guess those links D posted up will justify that for you all for now!

I'll be back with more when I am free...

this name sounds familiar... Humphrey?

i just watched the 1.16 CM, he's so adorable. he was like laughing at himself at the end. lol. but i don't know what he's talking about  though i caught a few otousan, okaasan, satoshi, papa and mama enough to tell he's acting many members of a family. hahaha. :D

Hehe, D! I happen to be browsing a Satoshi thread on Soompi. *sigh* it's fate. He has the adorable young boyish look, you know? Hubba hubba, I won't post the one of him very nearly totally naked. :bleh:

Oh wait, D... he can't be the next KimuTaku based on the fact that he's not too much of an all-rounder. Where KimuTaku can sing, and also dance and act, it makes him THE god... still.

Psst, Pet jie, young japanese guys on the street much more likeable though! Just today I was gawping, eating my udon, and gah, beautiful japanese waiter and guys with their unique fashion. *dies* tsk tsk.

I am a Satoshi fan too! not a big big fan but I still like him

I heard about him while browsing on the internet one day.. and I thought "Wow, this cute is sooo cute  !" And then later, I watched a bit of Orange Days and I find him more and more attractive :D

I think I prefer his short hair more :-)

but yeah. he's super cuteeeeeee.. Look at that smile? Who can resist? *melts*

btw, anyone watched "the tiger and the fish" yet? Is it any good?

minna san, はじめまして!!Thanks Chandie for referring me here. I am a big fan of Tsumabuki Satoshi, he is soooooooooo adorable !!!! I watched almost ALL his movies and drama, favourite ones are (movies) ジョゼと虎と魚たち, 69~sixty nine~and Waterboys, (drama) ランチの女王, Black Jack, Orange Days and Slow Dance, and one more, one-off drama of ANB 「砦なき者」, those sex scenes made me super ドキドキ (excited!!). If you also like Kimura Takuya, don't miss this 「忠臣蔵 1/47」cos they co-acted in it. Slow Dance 最高☆☆☆ 毎週聡くんに出会えるのが楽しみです。(If you can read Chinese, I have uploaded lots of info about Satoshi in my blog!) 以上です!よろしく!

 Don't remind me of that! I am still trying to save up to go to Japan... to enjoy the eye-candy... that's if I am not going to Taiwan... I am equally attracted to the dudes there... *going into a dreamy mode* They are equally 'delicious' :bleh: ... haha

This movie would be previewed in the Yufuin Movie Festival on Aug 28 (http://www.d-b.ne.jp/yufuin-c/), I guess more details might be announced by then. This movie would be shown in 2006, so Satoshi would have 2 movies shown next year ( 涙そうそうin Jan 06 and やわらかい生活...or might be more!) [2] Slow Dance novel would be on sale in Sep 05. (http://7andy.yahoo.co.jp/books/detail?accd=R0143720) [3] Remember "ブラックジャックによろしく Say hello to BLACK JACK"?? the theme song is by 平井堅さん:〝Life is~Another Story〞, I read from Japanese web that, once Satoshi sent 堅さん a message: 「最高の曲を作ってくださってありがとうございました」(thank you for composing such a good song!!), 堅さんwas impressed by Satoshi's praise.

 oooooooh pet jie. you knew i was going to do it sooner or later hahaha! you knew i'm obsessed with tsuma! haha- i felt like an obligation to open his thread- he's too cute to refuse!- so i suppose he's a KANR too- a ke ai NAN ren :-)- literally! cuso you saw it! see, the main jist of the ad was like he's trying to court a girl (himself)-
girl tsuma: kirin beer's so pretty!
boy tsuma: for a pretty person like you...
mama tsuma: satoshi! i love satoshi!
i was laughing like...the third time i watched it!
mm dana very valid point you've got there: he can't be the next KimuTaku based on the fact that he's not too much of an all-rounder.
however. he started off sort of doing some singing stuff too, if my info serves me correctly? doesn't he have a cd 'basking lite'- and i thought 'street jam' was about him and his band ambitions? and he used to play in a band in high school (red point)? i read that from nonno-haha. but obviously his singing career is no where near matching smap's success yes yes. that is undoubtable. okok- the 'new kimutaku' of dorama- how bout that?
hey karen! well, i like his long wavy hair more- like the one in the kddi ad- ah. so cute. short hair makes him look cute-geeky- like in sayonara kuro ahaha- or gay retro hair in 69!
and tam if you're wondering how heart-wrenchingly good joze is have a peek at the trailer here (http://www.jozeetora.com/index_f.html)
you came along vivamigo! what a nice surprise. do you have any pics of satoshi along side kimutaku in 忠臣蔵 1/47so we could all have a look at the snazzy edo(?) period outfits?

wait- wow this is sort of like my impromptu thread, but not... :shifty: well, mr. utsunomiya is a (not so) silent tribute to Tsuma anyway aheheh. don't you guys see 'tsuma' in 'utsunomiya' hahah?

gosh dana and pet, count me in too- we need to go on a taiwan/japan jay/kimutaku/satoshi/anycuteguy stalking tour! and for any kimchi lover's sake who might like to join our manhunt spree we'll throw in korea too... :shifty:

edit: and ohohoh vivamigos i absolutely love the song life is~- it's so beautiful, so simple, so fitting! i wish i could find the piano sheetmusic for it. gah. it's beautiful.

Chandie .. silly me has no idea which link to click to view the trailer.. >_<
but you've watched it and you think it's good?
then again maybe i might still download it even though it's not, just for the sake of drooling over his dazzling good looks...

I just finished Orange Days... and right now I'm melting due to excessive dose to his smiles =p

How about "sayonara koru" ?

Hi tam2, I watched both, and "the tiger and the fish" is my most loving Satoshi drama so far (perhaps, before "Haru no Yuki" is released in Oct), Don't miss it! and "sayonara koru"...if you like dogs, you would like it cos many scenes about koru the dog and Satoshi. Yet, the look of Satoshi in this movie is a bit "old fashioned", not charming, but his acting is marvelous!

[QUOTE=Chandie]:
[1] mama tsuma: satoshi! i love satoshi! (Kirin beer CM)

[2] doesn't he have a cd 'basking lite'- and i thought 'street jam' was about him and his band ambitions? and he used to play in a band in high school (red point)? i read that from nonno-haha. but obviously his singing career is no where near matching smap's success yes yes.

[3] do you have any pics of satoshi along side kimutaku in 忠臣蔵 1/47so we could all have a look at the snazzy edo(?) period outfits?

Chandie, give me five! I kept on laughing while watching that Kirin beer CM, that line, "satoshi, i love satoshi".......cho-kawaii ne!!!

about satoshi's singing....umm.....I got his album 'basking lite', after listen to it, I believe he's got full passion for band music, but lucky that he's not a singer ! (better focus on acting!!) ha ha...gome ne satoshi ! did you watch 『新・食わず嫌い王決定戦』when he's promoting Lorelei, when 石橋貴明 was asking him about his band "red point" he looked so embarrass, though once he said in "Top Runner", that SINGING is his favourite thing to do while moving between locations!!! anyway, you can tell how good his singing is when you watch 'street jam' , right!? but look at him, holding the guitar, wawawa!!!!! can't resist his charm ne! (matching smap...I am also big fan of Kimura Takuya since '98, but I don't think they are good singers too! more the best entertainer!!! their concerts are excellent to watch !!!!)

satoshi was not famous when acting 忠臣蔵 1/47, i just got a tiny pic of him with takuya....but let me try to cap the screen later on, to show minna san his "ancient jap" look !!!

Hhahaha, I didn't quite understand this topic thread initially coz' when I first watched him, it was in the BlackJack drama. I saw no resemblance. But after watching [Slow Dance], I begin to understand why.

I think he just simply grows on you after a while and yes, there is a slight resemblance there. After all, this dorama was touted to be another [Long Vacation]. I had watched it becoz' of Naohito Fujiki.

But Satoshi kinda grew on me as well. :shy: Also, do you guys feel that he looks a bit like Sammul Chan, the TVB HK actor?

oh wow this thread...is alive again!

'Haru no Yuki' is a Japanese blockbuster movie from last year starring Satoshi and the girl from 'Pride'. so counting that, Satoshi has now had many many collaborations common to kimutaku- Shibasaki Kou from Good luck!, that, and um, i think there are more?

the cream of the jap entertainment circle isn't that big.
check out devout fan Vivamigo's blog and you'll be able to read basically EVERYTHING about it.

Yes, there is one more lady, who is the lead actress from [Slow Dance], Eri Fukatsu. She acted with Kimutaku before. And the dorama [sayonara koru], is that anything to do with Quill?

I have finished watching [Orange Days] recently and I must say ... since [OverTime], I haven't found such a dorama that I don't mind watching over and over again. He had such great chemistry with Kou Shibasaki!!!

cacky, you got me in deep trouble....
I am stuck on Lunch no Joou!!

I wanted to have just some eye candy, then I realised that not only Tsumabuki is in it; my no.1 Japanese actor, Eguchi is also in it! (By the way, that's Yuu-ni)...

Officially hooked on it now... I should limit my self to one episode per day....

^ Yeah, just recently bought this movie by him too. But it doesn't come with an english title, so I'm not sure what is it called. It's made in 2004 I think. Quite some time ago. Will watch it and review it here. Haven't caught him on drama for a while since [Slow Dance]. I wonder what he's been up to.
