i'm a really big music person.. i know how to play the flute.. but i've always regretted not learning piano or violin >.< soo i was wondering.. what were your music goals?

Well I know how to play the piano, been learning since I as 8 years old! However the instrument I have always wanted to play was either the Cello or the chinese instrument which is called the Zheng or something. (Hehe I can't PinYin it properly :oops: !) Well anyway it looks like this..

Since young, I played the piano.. And I've already played for 10 years, I guess.
If I can, I would like to master:
- the four I've chosen from the options, violin, flute, clarinet, drums.

when i was younger, a piano teacher would always come to our house to teach me but i was more interested in sharping my already very short crayons than learning how to play the piano and so my lessons stopped. there's a chinese harp-like instrument you can play in your LAP? wow, i've never seen that before. the only thing closest to that that i know of is the zheng.. and its like a harp but table-like.. definitely cant play it with it on your lap. whats it look like?

I played the flute for 6 years and I stopped. I tried the piano, but i quit, I really would want to continue the piano, it seems as if every asian I know plays the piano. Lol. My cousin played the violin and for awhile i wanted to learn that also :) But for now I have this strange attraction to the drums.

i was given an opportunity to learn piano when i was 9.. but i had to wake up very early in the morning to go to the classes when it's not a school day.. so i didn't put my whole heart into it.. then i moved to brunei and it was very expensive there.. and i gave up piano at grade 2.. oh, how i REGRET it now..

Well mine would be the Electric Guitar. I've always liked the sounds from it and the rock songs you can play. It's so awesome.

I also wanted to play the clarinet because in my music class that was the only other instrument beside violin that looked really nice and sounded pretty to me. well, for me i learned to play the clarinet for 6 1/2 years, piano for about 2 years, and percussion/drums for 2 1/2 years. i was never that good at either of them tho, i guess i get bored easily so i quit, which is not a good thing. i kinda wished that my parents would force me to practice, then i'd be good. cuz i quit clarinet for percussion/drums, cuz i was in my school's band. and piano, i got bored and quit. and now that ive just graduated hs, my instrumental days are over. i wish i wouldve actually practiced. another instrument i want to play is the chinese instrument with the strings, not sure what it's called, i guess is the chinese version of a piano? i dunno, i read a reply from Becci, and she said it's ZHENG. i dunno, but yeah, that's what i wanna play. wow, talking about this is makin me realize im gonna miss my band days....

Yes, I know, Jay did mentioned that piano would represent him, if you asked which piano does he think he is.

I choose piano, violin, flute and drums.

Piano has 88 keys all lay out for you. Its a much more easier instrument to learn than the violin. Violin only has 4 strings and no flats(slightly lower note) and sharps(slightly higher notes), you have to try to 'catch' everything. Playing the violin depends a lot on your experience.

Flute can look so cool when you are playing it. Drums can be very difficult, but there are so many people who thinks that its the easiest. They can be so wrong! You have to balance the drums and you will be everyone's guide as a metronome (a device to count beats). If your beat is wrong, the whole song is wrong!

ever since i was little, i've always wanted to play the violin, but i ended up learning the piano instead. my mom 'forced' me to learn the piano, and although i was quite vocal about my wanting to learn the violin instead, my parents insisted i 'concentrate' on the piano. i know i sound really resentful, but i think i would have been more dedicated if i learned to play the instrument that i loved. don't get me wrong though, i don't regret learning to play the piano and i'm really thankful my parents didn't give up on me, in fact i now wish i'd done my best. oh, and i haven't given up on the violin yet. i'm thinking about getting myself one for christmas heheh

Hey, not many takers on flute and clarinet. They are fantastic musical instruments.
Flute being very melodious, soft, and sweet.

i used to want to play guitar...coz it is more portablr...bt after seeing alot of ppl and frens playing drum...i think it is really cool...dat is why i want to learn to play drums...

mm...i already know how to play the piano and violin, so the next would be the flute; i love that clear sound XDDD i used to play it when i was in elementary school but then i quit it for the violin.

I would love to be able to play the cello as i really enjoy listening to people like "yo-yo ma 馬友友" (He was awesome in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon").

I had cello lessons when i was smaller but gave up later. I can play the flute and piano though.

I am on grade seven for piano and I am taking my grade seven flute exam in a few weeks :shiny:

i picked piano. I really really wanna learn how to play! everyone i know, knows how to play and had taken lessons. I wanna take lessons someday. i played the flute for three years though. I quit this year to learn guitar. :DD

I want to learn the piano and drums. Piano because I can really do some creative things and play some Monk, Ellington songs. Drums because there's jut something about being a drummer.

I'm currently playing the alto sax, which I've done so for the last 5-6 years. It's getting boring, and I'm considering changing to the tuba my senior year for band.

hmmm violin seems to be a beautiful instrument and he sound it produces is simply so sweet....but there are still other instruments which i really wanna learn...such as the drums and guitar too....gals who plays guitar and drums simply looks so cool....now i'm trying to learn how to play the guitar but still far from mastering it yet....hahas

The piano is probably the most beautiful instrument to my ears.Though hard to play when you're not a natural.You have a strong sense of pride once you've finally learned a good song on a piano though.:angel:

I had a brief brief stint with the piano. VERY BRIEF I'm talking forever ago when I had piano classes with my cousin...Al I remember is drooling on the keys and never practicing (I could never stay awake) but now that I think of it...I wouldn't mind sitting there for hours if it meant Jay was teaching meee!!!! I've always thought the violin to be a beautiful, very elegant instrument but my best friend says I don't look like a musician at all.

simply because i felt that these instrument could easily compose a nice lovely ballad out of nothing. Yea, i admit i like to listen and sing, that's y it would be great if im able to play and compose for my own.

with that, im able to play song like jay - end of the world, an jin, or danny wen - chin yan.

imagine... at campfire or out of nowhere in a gathering, i could play a song a two using guitar. or at dinner ballroom i play a rhythm or tune from the piano and someone sing on top of the stage. that would be just cool.

i always wanted to learn the piano...I love the sound of a piano and the way when you play the piano looks so cool...Even jay looks so cool when he play the piano...I definitely want to learn to play one myself....someday...(i know how to play a few simple song though but I want to play it like a professional)

i really wish i can play the piano because i very like to see somebody playing the piano. it looks really charming. although music like piano can make me more relax and not too depressed. so i think if i can play the piano myself it will be more relaxing. :worry:
