Guys and gals!
i'm not that big fan of m'sian idol but i just realize that daniel lee, who sang with jay on his concert last 2003....remember him??
he's in the final 24 contestants! i was watching a bit but i did't realize that was him untill my fren told me to check this online newspaper!!

erm now he is in the final right? just saw him perform. his voice sounds so soft. sounds like a girl. dunno why but i feel he cannot make it to the top. his voice dont have the power. :P

regarding this topic, i would think that daniel definitely has got some talent in musics ... (in fact, i voted for him too~ *grin*)
and doesn't really matter how he looks like actually ...
afterall, talent overrides appearance ... and malaysians just love the way he sings ... :-) *wink*

I hope that Malaysian will vote based on talent or abilities not looks! But i guess that last year Malaysian did vote very wisely.

Talking about this guy, erm.. not to criticise him but I think he doesnt reach the standard requirement to be in the top9 Malaysian Idol finalist

He only did goog in the first and second audition! the first was in penag and the 2nd - the duet with Xarra.

When he sang Maroon 5 song, I was like : Oh my god! his english was so bad! he cannot pronouce the diction properly and I am wondering why he cried before he audition with that song. But I have to say that all 3 judges actually love him. he did quite badly in the auditorium audition and yet able to got through. I was pretty mad at that time. The judges doesnt doesnt judge his performance for that particular song. So, its not fair actually! one good singer should be ALL GOOD in all the performances!

When he sang Kavana's song last week - its kinda freaky. I dont like him! Haha! no offense. But in the newspaper, he stated that he got cute face? HELLO? whats wrong with him calling himself cute? Well, i think many other girls in Malaysia do think so. thats why he got to the finalists! :bleh:

Anyhow, since he's a Jay Chou fan, I have to wish him all the best!

i went to sri pentas today to look for the tickets ...
and the person in charge actually told me to come back in august cause the tickets r still uncertain yet ...
and guess what ppl???
i saw Fauzi and Azam today at sri pentas too ... and my car was parked right beside the 8tv vans !!!

i am so excited ! hehehe ...

and i actually did a stupid thing ... we took photos of the vans and also some pics at the sri pentas ... *grin*

well, bout daniel's issue ... judging him without bias ... i think the last friday kavana's song was quite tempting, though the diction wise was slightly out, but his vocal really suits for that song (that's why i keyed votes for him too) and he is not a prof singer, cant expect him to sing like ronan keating or kavana right???

i have a fren who sings like jay too, i keep pushing him to join malaysian idol too but he seems reluctant ... haihz ... <=<

Hey , no offence here :oops: ! But i really got to tell the truth , that he did really bad in the auditorium audition *was told by devonn* and the kavana song :worry: ! They totally freaked me out , which is kinda dissapointing me at that very moment . :dry: Like what Paul said , gurls will be key-ing in VOTE Daniel right before him singing :wacko: . This is not fair . Hey ! You're voting for the next Malaysian Idol , and thru this competition we're seeking for someone who have the best vocal , not the cutest among all or even stylish contest ! So ppl , judge wisely according to their performance ! Not just their look .... :bleh: Oh yea , not all the bad things Dan has , but he did quite ok for the duet with Xerra ! pathetic round cause i thought that trish and atilia were doing quite ok all the time ... and ash ... i dun really penalize him from the way he sang last fri but the way he behave on the tv ... it is as though he cant accept the critism from the judges ... well, roslan was a little too harsh too ... since the duet part he already had some sort of prejudism on ash ...

oh yea! i went to The curve yesterday and it was fun to see all the top 11 finalists plus saiful and rydee ... and i got their signatures too! hehhe ... but too bad, din bring digi cam, managed to caught some pics using the handphone camera ... so pathetic ... and out of my expection, most of the attendants are kids ... i guess i am the oldest there~ phew~

bout daniel ... my classmates were saying his performance is getting worse and worse by days ...

Ahem..i may be the odd one here, but i think Nita, Xerra and one of the 2 contestants (forgot her name) that were first voted out deserve to be in the final 3 than Daniel.They sing way better than Daniel.No offense, but i just don't understand why he's still in the competition..and the thing that shock me the most is that he has never been in bottom 3 eventhough there were many times he sang badly.And contestant like Nita who sang greatly (at least better than Daniel) last week ended up in bottom 2.Heck! :dry:

So, please as Daniel is just like us, he enjoy the same music as us , that is why he love Jay. So please vote for him and root for him.

I'm sorry, but i think Jay and the whole "he-enjoys-the-same-music-as-us" thing SHOULD NOT be the reasons why we should VOTE and ROOT for him. Our votings should be based on one's talent and ability to carry out different genre of songs.

So Malaysians, please open you eyes..clean your ears if you haven't done so for months (i think Roslan and Paul should do it too) and vote for the person who has what it takes to be the next Malaysian Idol! :whistle:

By the way, i was and am really glad that Faizull has been voted out, FINALLY!Man, the guy could really scream, but too bad, this is Malaysian Idol and not the audition to be in a horror movie. :whistle:

But, I think the chance for Daniel to get the Malaysian Idol title (maybe) is big after Paul Moss said that he love Daniel very much in Malaysian Idol Diary a few weeks ago. He said that Daniel was so talented and different than any other contestant in the Idol show. Not just that, I realise how many times that Paul Moss said to Daniel that if keep continue the way he sing which is not following the original singer, and making the song like his song, then we will see Daniel in the final.

I am new in this site and forum, I was directed to this site bcos i was reading something on Daniel Lee. Daniel , he is a big big fan of Jay Chou, he has mentioned that Jay's music is very special and unique and he consider Jay his Idol.

I am also a bigfan of Jay. I love his music bcos it is unique not like any other artiste. I also like his hair style

Daniel is not superb but i think he is the best in MI2 . Eventhough he dun sing so well like Jac last year but he know his style and identity in music. He know what he can do best. Other contestants , they like no original identity, sing all type os different style and then not consistent.

So, please as Daniel is just like us, he enjoy the same music as us , that is why he love Jay. So please vote for him and root for him.

Pinkmudgee, im not sorry to say that i agree with E-ping. he might like Jay just like we all do but i think he might not be THAAT devoted to Jay considering his post count is only 58. PLUS, he's been here longer than i. my post count is around 4 times more than his. *mock gasp* Anyway, although i think he's OKAY kinda cute and his voice is just :thumbsdo:, i still hope he wins... then, we would have a Malaysian Idol on JCNET. Haha I don't think Nita is that good at all because her voice is sooooo limited. She should sing like a professional by now since she's been singing for more than 8 years only, while Daniel only sang at cafe. But I won't say that Daniel is great or whatever cause he's not, but he has the talent. His voice is special. And I don't Nita has the ability to sing all the genres. Same goes to Daniel. And I have no idea why they say Nita is pretty. -.-" Maybe different people has different view.

After yesterday's show, it's obvious that Nita truly deserves to be the next Malaysian Idol. I totally loved all the 3 songs she did yesterday. I think the judges were totally blown off by her. Daniel Won !! Anyone here voted him ? or prefer Nita ? For me...i voted Daniel...it's not because of his cute face...it just that he has a great voice that can sing very well...I can see he's a very hardworking guy...he's a part time singer in a cafe if i'm not mistaken and he work in a computer company and if i'm not mistaken it's the brand call "Apple" ! ohya...he's a smart guy too...he's a student in "U.S.M" ! its good to know, and see and hear, that malaysia has talents. otherwise people will keep saying malaysia not good. hopefully daniel will make it big.
and its even better to know that he's a jay fan!

personally, i think these idol shows are basically popularity contest. whoever's popular will win. of course, talent counts. but who doesnt like a shuai guy? please dun mistaken me daniel fans! i havent even seen his pic at all!

i really pity him..cos i heard that when he went on hitz.fm that day, he was criticized badly!...my friend told me that this malay man called up and said that daniel don't deserve to win and that nita should have won! another malay man called up and said that he got no talent..he only have the popularity and bla bla bla.
I mean come on!! give the guy a break! why blaming on him? when it was the people of malaysia who voted for him...the votes prove that we malaysians want him to be our malaysian idol..he won, so get on with it..should just support him so why keep criticising?

Seriously, until today i have no idea how he could end up being Malaysian Idol. Personally, i think Nita deserves the title more..i mean she was just so damn great during the final (didn't anyone see that??!!). I was so stunned when the result was announced :crazy: .I don't think i was the only one who was so shocked, my friends were absolutely shocked as well.

Anyhow, since this (the result) is something that can't be changed, i would like to congrat him and hope he lives up to the expectations (like what liwei_jay said :rolleyes: ) so that those who have voted for him /those who have been "tricked" by their friends into voting for him wouldn't be disappointed.

This kind of things already started to happen during the press conference til today. People and reporters indirectly and directly critisizing him. Come on, he is voted by most of the Malaysians, not one or two, but majority! So they can't scold him for being the idol! Maybe they can scold themselves or Nita's fans for not trying as hard as Daniel's fans! Maybe if Nita's fans vote 500 times like what one of the Daniel's fans did, Nita will win! But nothing can be done now. To Nita's fans(who keep scolding and cursing Daniel), think about it.

Luckily nobody shoot him during the 988 interview. Maybe because it's a Chinese station. But still, he is the idol.

hi. i know it's a bit late to talk about mi2 but i just read this line and i feel like responding . i am not a daniel fan or a nita fan . an idol is a popular singer . to be popular is a combination of factors - own style of singing , acceptable vocals and a personality that is currently in the mode.
nita's vocals is like jac - great. nita n jac are like another great singer - jacky cheung .
daniels vocals sounds weak - but with different songs , it carries its own unique charm . daniel looks is ok . his personality is gentle n youthful. he is studying music and is able to compose , sing n play instruments. maybe he is not yet jay chou but he has potential for further career in pop music .
malaysian idol need not have an italian opera vocals but definitely needs the personality to match the needs for a pop singer career. nita too can do well in a different singing style - something like aretha franklin style.

p.s. daniel rendition of heavens knows - very moving . his mandarin version of mimpi has been aired and it sound good. so , his high votes is 'cos his style suits his many voters.

Totally agree with Phoebe.... not all singers has to be like Italian opera vocals. If only super power italian long breath vocals can be considered worth it.. OMG can u imagine how boring the music world be like.

Sum like italian Opera, sum like Mariah, sum like Bjork, sum like Puff Daddy... they all different and all of them appeals to different crowd ...and so DAniel appeals to 1.2 million votes.

Yes , the single is only the Malay version of MIMPI... however, the full album will come out next month with the chinese version of MIMPI.. the chinese version is really very nice and the album also includes a song that is composed by Daniel himself. He played a bit of the tune on an interview,, wow, the song that he composed sounds great.

If u wanna listen to MIMPI chinese version, in chinese is titled "FEI", means FLY. , you can tune in to MyFM every MOn-Fri 8pm to 10pm. cos now "FEI" is climbing the charts, It was NO.1 last nite.

i've also noticed about him this few day in newspapers....he also sing something who made people don't understand what did he sing..I remember him who sang in Jay chou concert..ermmm not bad...but after he joined malaysian idol 2, i'm wondering i 've seen him before ?, cause his look so familiar.afterthat, i knew it through what he said in newspaper when he said he has performed at jay chou concert..that 's why he was so familiar....beside that, his performance such as common...anyways, now he became famous, at least he deserved it...
