hmmm, i haven buy her album yet. i dont see it in the front cover of the album (sg). but i heard her songs. not bad. love 'LI XIANG QING REN' the most. sounds very romantic. Devil beside you is a very nice show. spent 6 days; almost a week downloading the whole series. ((: mike and rainie look very compatible in the drama. :D

i think the longer version you're referring to is one where they combine the episode before it with the half hour ending...making the total episode half an hour longer than a normal episode.

sigh...i wish there was a longer version of the last episode...

I just finished this series like a week or two ago. i'm so slow. :) anyways, i thought it was pretty good, but i would've liked it more if rainie was not the female lead. i don't really like her acting, and when she's sad or crying, it just sounds like she's whining. i liked all the side stories though, especially with lixiang and yangping. they're so cute!

I have like 3 more episodes to the ending. Overall, is a very great show. I guess it gives me the sweet feeling when I watched Rainie and Mike being together. :wink2: . Can this ever happen in real life? *sighs*
Not really sure why Mike is known as the devil. But I think is because of the way he smiled and the look in his eyes during the first few episodes when he tried to win Rainie from Wang Chuan Yi. Moreover he was like a leader in his gang. Maybe thats why.

I like this series. I'd also like to read the manga though.
The couples are so adorable and the two guys are cute!!! I don't like some of the silly scenes though like when Rainie makes those stuttering faces or like in Episode one when Rainie gave her love letter to the wrong guy. Scenes like that are tooo unrealistic. They don't work as well on screen as on paper.

I'm glad to see there's a thread for Devil Beside You because I love this show sooo much! jayfalc0n I completely agree, I didn't like those scenes with Rainie being so over-dramatic either.

But all together I thought this show was really well done and very cute. I think Rainie and Mike make a really really good couple and they looked absolutely adorable together!:happy: I hope they'll make more dramas together in the future. :happy: I also looked the other couple, QingZi and YuanYi I think their names are... they were cute as well.

Well, I'm sort of disappointed by the later part of the show. It is a bit of a drag for me. And the ending is not the same as the manga. Seriously I think the manga has a way sweeter ending.

But the show really show how cute, Rainie and Xiao mei is. I think Rainie is just so cute in the show. And the clothes she wore is very nice too.

i finally finished the series. in TWO DAYS! i so need to spaz right now. my china bought dvd has errors from the centre... :profanit: the part before rainie met the Ah Sheng teacher and until the Mei Di left. i'll download them one way or another. pfft.

though he's more affectionate to rainie towards the end, i somehow preferred the starting of the show, the badass jealous mike he. :love: he seemed a little too soft at the end. i thought the ending was quite abrupt and the sudden appearance of his mother wanting to bring him to italy.

i didn't really like the brother at first, his 'hatred' being a little overplayed, and when he changed for the better, it was too fast. and i don't see how good looking he is - he reminds me of a younger version of chapman to in some way... :hmm: but he seemed quite cute near the last few episodes. playing his little brother role right. :D

i tend to fast forward at the Yuan Yi and Qing Zi parts though. :rolleyes:

Haha, nah I don't mind the Yuan Yi and Qing Zi parts.. they're pretty cute together. But I never fully accepted them as a couple mutually in love since he liked Xiao Yue at first and suddenly changed his mind, especially since he didn't even want to go out with Qing Zi in the first place. I wasn't even moved when he left the basketball game for her.

Qing Zi is SUCH a good friend though. From the beginning she had feelings for Yuan Yi yet she still pushed Xiao Yue towards him and vice versa. And near the end when she gulped down all that beer and started crying, begging Xiao Yue to show more emotion. She seems so caring :]

I was super bored during the Ah Rang and Ah Sheng bits. When those bits came on I started surfing the net -_- I know what you mean by Ah Rang changing too fast, but same goes for everything else.. like Ah Sheng realised too suddenly that he was over Xiao Yue and into that other woman (who was gorgeous!) and Li Xiang changed into a better person pretty fast.

WHY THE HECK did Mike go to Italy though?!? He was so heartless! Yuan Yi was right, HE chased her, HE waltzed into her life and changed everything, HE made promises of forever.. then he just leaves?!

I was crying when he left!! And it wasn't even that sad!! :glug: I think Rainie pulls at my heartstrings because she's soooo innocent and childlike.

YES!! the ah rang parts are so... odd. he was trying to kill xiaoyue at one moment and going all overboard, and the next moment acting as though they've been friends together for years.

ooooo! i was crying at the point xiao yue scolded him and left him acting brave there. and the part when he left his friends at the bar and turned quickly so they won't see him crying... *heart shatters* and he still turned to give that devil's smile. :cry: *melts*

i couldn't see why ah sheng was into xiao yue in the first place (was he? my dvd is screwed and pirated and i missed some parts) and chose the other woman. i mean that woman is like totally different from xiao yue... and yeah was she pretty.

oh this reminds me. some of their 'old pictures' looked photoshoped on a white background... are they? especially the one with Ah Meng, Ah Rang and the mother, its like a totally different lighting and one person is clear one while another is grainy. :laughing:

I never thought I'd say this about Mikes in general, but this Mike is super duper uper luper HOT.

Asian men actors need to learn how to kiss from him. He gave Rainie Yang the tongue like 3 times. I was shocked at first since in most asian kiss scenes, they just "lock" lips and stay still while the camera rotates around them "romantically" and the theme song blares in the background or something.

Read somewhere that they didn't make an OST because most of the songs are in Huang Yi Da's album or Rainie's album.

The rock ballad was sung by XL 特大号乐团, there were two songs in this passage, don't know which one you're talking about so, the first one is "黯然销魂" and the second one "美麗的回憶" (which is also played in the karaoke passage if I remember well), I think you're talking about the second one ^^ lol!

Pm me if you can't find these songs, or want the other ones ^^

i watched devil beside you during spring break? im still obsessed with it. the plot was so captivating and sweet. i detest watching dramas where the girl doesnt get the guy until the LAST EPISODES (or vise versa) so DBY is a drama that I can watch over and over again.

i recently bought the taiwan version and the mainland china version of DBY.. although theres not much difference. haha i also got a few of my friends to get hooked on it. :)

i love the part where ahmeng calls qiyue and says "im coming in" and then opens the door only to kiss her and then closes it. after, they talk on the phone and ahmeng says something really sweet to qiyue. :) aw..

i doubt theres going to be a sequel though, it just seems too good to be true :rolleyes: ..although if ISWAK gets a sequel DBY definitely should!

hmm yeah or something meteor garden II-ish.. like ahmeng losing his memory (as somebody suggested in the earlier posts..) .. that would be interesting i think? too bad jerry yan and that other girl that died in MG2 were hecka annoying together, and jerry seemed more awkward than "innocent" when poor.

i watched this drama, early this yr... Rainie is so cute in there!!!
but Mike seems like put too much makeup? am i the only one who think so???
i love the scene where Rainie and the guy she likes (wang chuan yi) and Mike is squatting on the floor..very funny, to see the look on their faces when both of them realised Mike is bside them..!!!!

Ok, so i'm just not getting into asian dramas (yes, i know i'm slow, but in all fairness i am practically the only asian person in my suburb- there's one more, he's 11 hehe). Anyway, i saw this one the other day in d-addicts and was wondering whether or not to watch it. I'm watching It Started with a Kiss right now (soo cute!!) but maybe i'll watch it next? Is it really good?

I LOVE THIS DRAMA ALOT!
I only managed to watch the last few episodes on television after I noticed the existance of this drama so I went on Youtube to re-watch the full drama from the beginning. Its hilarious and Mike He acted out his role really well!
His new drama, Lets Get Married just came out(i believe the first episode is already out in Youtube) and if I'm not wrong, he's acting as a popular artist in the drama.

I think Rainie is very suited to act in this kind of drama because she is so cute. I really like the chemistry between them and some of the scenes are so sweet.

And their parents are so funny and a bit exaggerated.

I watched Devil Beside You first and I'm watching love contract now. I was just obsessed with his bad boy look in DBY, that his look in love contract annoys me. He's just too much of a goody-goody. I think its funny how much i loved him in DBY. He was just sooo hot. Also, I liked his chemistry with the girl in DBY more than with Ariel Lin. Oh, well. Can anyone suggest other good dramas with Mike He in them?:wave:
