I was just wondering if anyone else has chinese channel. Chinese Channel only broadcast programmes across europe and you can watch many programmes that are from Hong Kong. They have up to date news, entertainment news, dramas and other programmes.
I have had it for about 3 years now and my all time favourite is the Super Trio Show and Minute to Fame. Very hilarious
Anyway, they organise activities like last year, they arranged for Charmaine Sheh and Joe Ma to come to London and Birmngham!!i saw them twice and it was good. very crowdy.
So does anyone else have it? :wink2:

ive got the chinese channel at home. i dont have it in my room though and im too lazy to go into the livingroom to watch it that often.
i usually go to watch the Super Trio Show with Eric Tsang because he is just soooo hilarious. I also watch Chan Ho Yut Ding sometimes aswell since everyone is talking about it these days.
When they did the UK version of Chan Ho Yut Ding. i went to the Glasgow one but didnt enter because i chickened out. i soooo regret it now. It looked like so much fun and everyone got a free TVB umbrella *sigh*
I dont watch the chinese drama series much because i cant watch them everyday.

lol someone i know got on tv through Manchester's competition. if they sent Hacken Lee over to do it i would have gone too
but yeh, ive had TVBS for years now. i cant say i watch it much, because i dont watch a lot of TV anymore. i get my entertainment through DLding online. Super Trio Show is funny, but it slightly annoys me cos most of the games is copied off korean gameshows like Xman and Loveletter .___.
its good to have a chinese channel at home though ^^ i get to keep up with the news. i just wish they played more variety in asian music. its mostly HK music and im not the biggest fan

hehe..it seems like everyone one watches Super Trio Show and Minute to Fame....and yep im going to have to say im a sheep and watch those too. can be very funny!
well i use to have chinese channel, but my mum didn't want it anymore, so she cut it. >_< sigh. so now i sometimes go to a friends house or something. but i found that apart from a few select programme, there wasn't anything else to watch..espcially during the day..=/.
nevertheless...kinda miss having it...haha

i hear that! im not a fan of HK music either. Twins and Cookies and all the others really get to me. they have really.... bubbly music which makes me cringe *shivers*
they do have a mandarin music show. cant remember what its called but it has mandarin songs. its on in the afternoon around 12ish i think.
i knew a few people who entered the manchester one too. it was televised the saturday after it was actually recorded. did the guy who won in london also win the manchester one? he was the one who did... Ricky Martin - She bangs.

Ricky Martin - She bangs.
Another William Hung?
Personally, I'm content with Phoenix CNE. Its the free Mandarin one, and we get a variety of shows, put aside the cheap Beijing dramas. Take, they televise the BIG Korean dramas now, and occasionally some Taiwanese series. They broadcast MVs in between breaks let it be Japanese Korean or Chinese. I'm amazed at how much I'm getting w/o having to pay. :bleh:
Anyhoo, before this turns into a 'Convert into Phoenix' thread, I don't sub to TVB.

Ive got that channel too! its free on sky i think. i dont watch that much because its almost ALL in mandarin. hard to understand for a cantonese speaker like myself.
another william hung? quite possibly. the reason the guy won the manchester one is because he did a little dance for the judges to earn a few seconds extra while the judges covered their eyes in disgust.
every now and again. i watch that "Lets Talk In English" program. they speak r-e-a-l-l-y slowly which is pointless since viewers
a) can already speak english better then them.
b) dont speak a word of english or cantonese/mandarin.
c) decide to change channel because none of the presenters are hot.

Learn Mandarin, dude! Anyhoo, watching the clips doesn't need understanding.
Off topic BUT whole cast of Initial D were on 'A Date with Luyu' on Thursday! Though the program's lame any other time, this was special.
PLUS the biz program 'Entertainment Whirlwind' at 5.45pm (Doing my advertising, hell yeah  ) doesn't just revolve around HK showbiz. Hence I don't sub to TVB. (I managed to get back to point in the end.)

I went to see them two at colinsdale.. couldn't really see them properly though because I was so far away from them but everyone around us was filming it on their camcorders so we just watched it from there.. lol :bleh:
yeh.. i've had TVB chinese channel ever since i was about 4 or 5 and the news aren't always up to date anymore.. like on Scoop.. some news come about a week after it's actually happened...
...and there are hardly ever any jay chou news... :-x and that's why i watch scoop..
I've never heard of this channel, can someone tell me more about it and how I could get it?Also on the Chinese channel do they have English subs?I'm clueless.

ummm.. TVB Chinese Channel is great.. lol
sadly there are no english subtitles although they did introduce it once to see what the reactions of the subscrbiers would be but it's gone so i dont think that many people liked it haha
if you wana subscribe.. i suggest you should visit their website or something and call them up.. there's 5 channels now which are:
- the original/standard channel (a bit like BBC1)
- the classic channel (where old programmes are shown)
- the entertainment news channel (where jay chou might pop up here and there lol)
- the lifestyle channel (cooking programmes, holiday programmes, beauty programmes)
- the general news channel (global news including sports)
its actually quite good if you wana pick up on your chinese because the more you watch the chinese programmes, the more fluent and confident you will become at speaking it.. thats why my mum is always telling me to watch it.. haha! also.. you start to recognise chinese characters because of the subtitles
