Hi Malaysians!! =)

I'm actually from Singapore but after going to Fraser's Hill and Taman Negara in this June holiday, I just feel like going to Malaysia again!!! You know, Malaysia is much more bigger than Singapore, so there are much more places to go and explore.

So I'd like to know about places of interest in Malaysia, where many tourists will go. Or maybe some other nice places where it is not so popular. Wouldn't mind if you Malaysians introduce these places. Next time I might want to go to these places!! =)

Hi spax

Well, if u fancy historical sites, u might want to visit Malacca.

U might want to go to the famous tourist attractions which are the Stadhuys, climb the St.Paul's hill, whereby there's a way down that leads u to the ever famous A Famosa. There is are 2 museums located near the A Famosa, which u might want to visit as well with a minimum fee charge.

If u are to visit Malacca during the weekends, I would suggest u to have a walk at Jonker Walk (at Jonker Street) in the evening (located near the Stadhuys building, opposite the road, across the bridge). During the day, there are plenty of shops along the street, selling antiques and souveniers, if u fancy to get some home.

There is also this famous Cheng Hoon Teng temple (a well-known tourist attraction as well) located behind the Jonker Street and few other temples are located at the same lane as well.

Well, if ur looking for a nearby shopping mall, then there's Mahkota Parade (located opposite the A Famosa and museums I mentioned above).

Now, if ur hunting for food, let me recommend u, the Malacca's famous, chicken rice Ball. U can find it at Jonker Street. Also, there's this satay celup (like satay, it's sticks of fish balls, fish cakes, prawns, sausages and etc...deep in a pot boiling spicy peanuts and sesame seed gravy in the middle of the table) at Ong Kim Wee street that it's worth trying...it's yummy.

Well, u might also want to visit the zoo, the butterfly farm, the Hutan Rekreasi, the aligator farm, which all located at the other end of Malacca, in Ayer Keroh.

Yet, at another end of Malacca, there is this A Famosa water theme park, an animal safari and a "cowboy town" all located at the same place in Alor Gajah. There is also a golf course and some accomodations which u can rent to stay over night if u fancy, which too located in the A Famosa water theme park as well.

Well, that's about it. If u do consider visiting Malacca, hope u enjoy and have a nice trip there. :wink2:

urxalone: You're living in East Malaysia?? That's cool!! =)

But East Malaysia is quite far away from Singapore. Have to take a plane there. Unlike Peninsular Malaysia, where I can just cross the causeway to Johor. Well, I'd surely go there if I have a chance!!^^

KL is just a train ride away. Yet I only went to the KL tower..>< Arrgh...last time my family was rushing to the KL Sentral Train Station from Fraser's Hill and we only have time to visit the KL tower....

Thanks for introducing the places again!! Any other places of interests??

spax: Although I am not from Penang but I can introduce you bit bit about Penang. You gotta cross Penang Bridge before you get inside of Penang. The Penang Bridge is really long and nice! It will takes you about 15 minutes to pass through it! You can have a good view of the sea when you are passing through it.
I think what makes Penang so famous is the FOOD!:yeah: Try the Penang Laksa! *yummy! Visit Gurney Drive! Gurney Drive have a lots of food stalls there. All the food stalls selling different kinds of food! And all of the food there is delicious! :secret:Not to mention that the food there is very cheap and worth it!
You can also visit the famous temple there,Kek Lok Si Temple! This is a very famous temple in Penang. There's another temple in Penang which have the sleeping buddha. But so sorry, I cant remember the temple's name!:worry:

Hi everyone~! I'm from Singapore too.

My family and I go to Malaysia at least once per year, to visit our relatives and my dad's friends ('cos he is a Malaysian). :-) We will always drive to Bandar Utama (KL) as my dad bought a house there, and Penang to visit my dad's good friend, then finally to Kedah to stay at my relatives' house. Haha, cool...

When we go to KL, most of our free time, we will go to Sunway Lagoon. :excited: Love the place a lot! Also, once we went to the theme park at Times Square. Hm...I would say I still prefer Sunwau Lagoon as the games at Times Square have height limitations (you have to be at least 1xx cm or shorter than 1xx cm tall to play).

Hm...what about Kedah? Any good places of attractions there? :-)

erm, since i lived in selangor, shall i intoduce a wonderful place, well, there's nothing much that u can do here except, enjoy the wonderful scenery of kuala lumpur.
if u happen to drive along hulu langat, u will get past this place. it's a beautiful place, there u can see kuala lumpur, and the scene is just amazing during nights.
many people went up there during new year to celebrate, because u can have a perfect view of all the firecrackers show at night.....

i recommend it to all kuala lumpurians and selangorians....

so far still no one from the east coast posted here... well, let the kid from Terengganu conteng something here la..hehe.

actually Terengganu can be considered as the least developed state.. or should I say.. not so advanced.. but have u ever heard of the famous Pulau Redang? I went there once..when i was form 1.. (now form 4).

Of what I know.. there are a lot of resorts for u to choose to stay on the island, for a vacation. you can do lots of stuff over there.. and the best thing is, snorkelling and watching the coral and coral fishes. If you spend ur holiday at the Laguna Redang Resort, you might get the chance to swim with young sharks... that's really great experience.. (unfortunately i dont have such chance.hehe). the best and most expensive resort is the Berjaya Redang Resort.. then got many other resorts like Redang Bay, Redang Beach, Redang Reef.. etc. you can log on to www.redangisland.com for more info.

If you wanna spend ur holiday on any island... be sure u come to Pulau Redang. i'm sure you'll have lots of great time here ;) and sorry i cant tell u more..coz me myself went there only once. and didnt know much bout the island.hehe.

yeah. Genting.. City of entertainment... hehe. The best time to go holiday at Redang Island is from April until September.. i guess. but i think the resorts have already been fully booked.i mean for april, may and june. hehe. school holidays some more.. I'm living near the Redang island office..that's why I can always meet ppl from other country (who're going to redang).. It's worth to pay a visit to redang.. :D
