After Jay Chou took on a role in the movie "Initial D", a bunch of HK and Japanese producers held out large sums of money to try to get him to take on new films, but he has declined them all. Because Jay doesn't want to publicize much, "Bangka"'s preparation stage has been very low key. According to reports, this movie will have a $8 million TW investment from a certain international well-known beverage company and Jay will invest at least $8 million TW. 下个月开拍的《艋舺》将由钮承泽出任导演，而与周杰伦演对手戏的则是现还在TW中央大学读研究生的张钧宁。 片中的周杰伦将饰演一个小混混，走出校园后就在环境的影响下加入黑帮，而当自己的老大与别人在械斗中身亡， 老大的儿子又没有能耐时，重情义的周杰伦拼了命要帮老大报仇。在黑帮的腥风血雨中，被迫在街上“站壁”的雏 ^-^张钧宁，成了周杰伦心灵的寄托。两人在戏里有段真挚而扭曲的爱情，并且将上演一场激情戏。
"Bangka" that's to start production next month will have Niu Cheng Ze act as director. The one who will play opposite Jay is Zhang Jun Nin who is still currently a grad student at Taiwan Central University. In the film, Jay will play a small time streetkid who, after leaving school, joins a gang due to influences of his surroundings. When his boss dies in a fight with others and the boss's son is not up to the challenge, Jay, who is very loyal, risks his life to avenge his boss's death. In the ruthless world of gangs, Zhang Jun Nin, who is forced to work the streets, becomes Jay's emotional support. The two have a sincere but complicated romance in the movie and will have a intense passionate scene.

I don't think the storyline is very original. I could've sworn I've seen a movie with the same plot and synopsis. I thought Jay would be interested in something a little more unique. But then again, I understand how he wants to play a tough gangster...Fits his personality well.
