omg, i can't believe no one has made a thread about this... good job!!!! hehe

i TOTALLY ADORE ddr. it's one of the best games ever!!!! i'm okay at it i guess but i think it's really really fun. i can do like 2 songs on heavy but all of the songs on standard. i have ddr extreme. which is pretty easy comparing to the others.

it IS good excercise for sure! i lost at least 4 pounds from it. hehe. so ya, i encourage ppls to play it! i wonder if jay plays it....haha. that'll be funny :D

LOL omg i havent played DDR in AGES. i remember in my "azn" days i used to be completely obsessed with it and i was pretty good at it [considering i played it like non-stop during the summer, lol]. my favorite version was the 4th one.

BUTTERFLY = BEST SONG EVER

there were a lot of other good songs too.. but i forgot their names :P

man..i frikkin sprained my ankle..which put me off of the game for a cuple weekz...a cuple weeks will do u bad..even the easiest songs i failed..memo to all..never play ddr shortly after a foot injury... bleh

butt yes i agree, it is a GREAT WORKOUT!!!! my buddy was HUGE, and now..he's lost so much weight because of the game...and his calfs are huge!!!! like giant chicken drumsticks...they even have tournaments for the game, butt im not good enough to go that far...we've got some hardcore mofoz out there that live for ddr..props to them!!

if you play it a cuple times everyday at home..trust me in no time at all you'll be doing songs on heavy or maniac or oni...hmm...maybe we'll catch a picture of Jay using it...its a way to build up agility and stamina for his awesome shows..keke

I don't play DDR, but I do Play PUMP, which is basically the same thing, the arrows are just different... i'm okay at Pump, haven't played for a while actually... probalby got worse.... I played DDR a couple of times.. i can only do the semi-easy ones tho...

haha i played pump before.. i was SSSOOO confused because the pad was different, lol. isnt pump like the korean version of ddr?

and i'm not trying to be racist or anything, but you know how ddr is/was like kinda the thing for asian people to do? now its like the popular thing to do with all the white people at my school.. they even do competitions. i find it kinda funny (:

The Dance Revo is a good exercise but unfortunately,I'm not very good at it. :sweat:

keke ~ its a great game when you're playing with a bunch of friends. Even more hilarious if you guys are slightly drunk... but you have to use the dance pad ~ controllers are a no-no!

I think my friend isn't human ~ he always gets perfect on heavy mode ~ but he tried to grind with a girl when they were in the ~ opposite ~ positions. Maybe he's just clueless?

I suck at DDR!

Although it was my first time playing, I was much embarrassed by my friends whom were also first-timers. At first, I did not understand the concept of stepping only when they hit the top, so I got so confused and got a really low score and horrible rating. Hahaha.

Then there were these guys who got all the moves down and could do special moves on extremely hard or whatever. They made DDR simple...but it wasn't!

I will never return to that dance pad again, hahah.

I started playing around half a year ago.

I was soooo bad. So i bought the game and practiced at home hahaha. Then i went onto the proper ones in the arcades. Everyone was watching me.... fail. was funny i guess.

Theres some people who are reeeeally good and can do expert mode. :excited: i just stand there feeling all envious.

I suck so bad it's not even funny.
I have NEVER finished an entire song. I always play on easiest difficulty possible, and even with that, I get so demoralized I can't even finish.

lol for some reason, ps2 ddr is so weird for me. I bought the xbox ddr, and learned how to play on that one, and when i go to other ppl's houses and they have ps2 ddr, it just screws me up for some reason. No idea why.

hahah I love it, thats funny, not asian enough! I know what you mean! Seeing those hardcore asians dancing like its a piece of cake! Its so obvious some of them know it off by heart coz they spin around and half of the time don't look at th screen!

I haven't played in agesssssss, I guess I started getting better - can play in standard mode but stopped now, so probably suck at it!

But its lots of fun! and yea, does give you a bit of a workout!

hhahaha, ddr, i havent played that for a few months. really good work out, yea i know. but i use to be really dodgy, but now i can play to 5 or 6 feet now..ive been practicing ^-^, but thats still pretty dodgy compared to those pros at the arcades. i only play it with my friends so we can verse each other, though i dont like playing a the arcades much coz people watch you..its scary.
this girl i was watching was playing and she was really good, and she was holding onto the back railing thing and it seemd like it was going to break off, she was leaning on it a bit too much.>.< she was hogging it too.

I used to play DDR for like couple hours a day.. btu not anymore. I can play heavy, but I have to put the speed on 2x or 1.5x. Songs like B4U is definitly 2x. I used ot be OBSESSED. LOl I thought I could make myself skinnier, but it doesn't work. But DDR is great, everyone should get a machine or something. LOl jk.

sure the songs like max 300 are hard..butt it can be done without the raping of the bar..trust me its possible..i guess its ok to use it at first to keep urself from tripping..butt the more u do without, the better u are..kuz ur able to balance yourself..im not a pro, butt pros will tell ya not to bar rape..the only time they use it is when they're on doubles doing tricks..at least that i've seen...im shure there are reasons ppl hold the bar...butt its not necessary on light mode..i've seen folks hold on to it for dear life on light..does it make one look more intense? ionoz....sometimes u just gotta let go..and most of us kno that letting go of anything is probly the hardest part.. :oops:

itz kinda like old ppl needing scooters because it can be hard to move around..butt the more u dont need it the better

i just played ddr a couple days ago and its been like FOREVER since i played.. i'm amazed i still knew the steps pretty well!! of course i didnt perform as great as i used to, but at least i wasnt dying by the end of the song (= and i was in flip-flops [worst shoes EVER to play ddr in] so it kinda hindered me from moving easily.

afronova = best song to dance to :P

and butterfly will always be the ultimate ddr song ever hahaha

I have practiced that game religiously, but I never seem to improve, for some reason I'm better at Pump It Up then DDR even though they are basically the same...

by the way, you have never seen good DDR and Pump It Up players until you have been to Vietnam thye play those games fantically over there.

Lol, it's so fast too. But I really think "mammy, can you sing trip machine" or whatever is the worst. The beat is so freaking hard to get ~ almost as bad as "matsuri japan". Ugh

Wow a DDR tread! I started playing casually 5 years ago, then started playing seriously last year. My nearest shopping mall has an 8th mix machine so that's where I normally play. I could pass most 8 foot songs, maybe a few easy 9s.. But had to quit at that point due to the heavy workload in school. >_<

i find it really funny how all the white people at my school are starting to play DDR. there was even an article on this girl [she's white] who competes in DDR competitions. its just kinda odd cuz i started playing DDR in middle school when it was really popular among asians. and now, my asian friends and i hardly play anymore yet now its becoming popular with the caucasion population. i find that interesting :P

DDR is so much fun. its a good exercise game as well. im not an expert at it and i kind of suck at it, but i play it just for fun and just rocking out to the songs. they have some pretty funky songs on there. :happy:

I'm currently at the light level. I can do the standard level occassionally, but I don't do as well in those.

gosh i miss ddr.....its been so long since i've played... ddr machines where i live are only in the casino gaming arcades...and due to the hurricane katrina that hit this past week, all the casinos are pretty much funked up and destroyed..kant make the most of your play on a mat at home..too much slippin n sliding unless u wanna play like $300 for a metal ddr mat =p

I used to play alot of DDR mid-last year. But I haven't played in ages!! I think I am very rusty now hahaha~ I was so obsessed with playing I was considering getting a DDR mat at home to practise :D

Some of the songs which I really liked dancing to were Can't Stop Falling in Love, Look to the Sky... thats all I can remeber for now. This post makes me want to go and play now!

i like to ddr....quite a bit..and there are times where i do get tiked off because i lose....but im not that bad compared to people who play their asses of...and break the handle on the back, step on it till it just dies and goes to hell...now thats the problem with ddr sometimes..people get hooked then it breaks then no more good ol fun times with the ddr machine =_=" pathetic really...i think i went over baord..

apart from my ddr craze...its those doll picking up machine things....how fun....and a waste of money.

Well I normally play at home with the controller coz I always mess up using the dance pad...>_< I must say I'm really good with the controller though!

Going to the arcade to play is totally an embrrassment. There's like so many other people queueing and it's like they're looking at you as though they're saying "Hey, you better step outta the line if you are not going to be good at this. Stop wasting our time and let us show off our talents instead." -_-"
Well for that reason I didn't want to play in the arcade anymore.

I think another game interests me as much as DDR. It's para para. Lol. I feel that it's much more fun than DDR in the sense that there's acutally real dancing involved if you do know how to do the real dance. I bought a couple of CD's on para para dance and actually it's so much more fun coz you can learn the dance at home and just have fun! It's exercise, you sweat and the best thing is there's no one watching you in your room!

i love DDR...or used to anyway.

brings back good and bad memories...heheh. i remember the first time i tried so deep on heavy and fell off the pad in shock...and i remember the first time that i AA'd healing vision angelic mix in public...one of the coolest DDR experiences ever. i've gotten into ITG [in the groove] somewhat more than DDR later on though. more complicated steps, higher foot-ratings etc...more challenging.

to date, there is one 10-footer that i have yet to pass...paranoia survivor max on oni. don't practice much though, maybe i should do that sometime.

OMFGDDR!! I love it SOSO much. But then... :cry: My PS2 broke, I sat on my DDR disc, and my mom jumped on my mat too much when she was trying to diet. So I haven't played DDR at my house in almost 2 years. I haven't really played since Spring Break in Las Vegas, where they had it in some arcades. It was DDR USA, though, and didn't have the songs that I like.

I'm not that great at it. Just average. I mean, I hardly ever fail anything, but that's only because I don't pick anything hard. >_<

i actually still play once in a while when i'm out, a lot of my friends think its kinda sad since they were over it a few years ago, but i still have one friend that always plays with me =)

we're about the same level, can pass about 80% of the 9 foot songs? maybe less, hahaha =)

if anyone in sydney still plays, they might see me sometimes playing either at george st or market city ^^
