I'm surprised while looking through the forums, that there isn't already a thread for Crystal Kay. So, I'll get it started. It's hard to find information about her, but I'm hoping you guys will help me out!

First appearance of her voice to the world was at age 6, through TV CF. Since her mother's friend was related to TV CF business, Crystal sang some songs for TV CF and people started to pay attention to her voice. Many major record companies tried to sign a contract with her and finally, Epic Records signed with her in the fall of 1998. Then Crystal made a debut with the single 'Eternal Memories' in July of 1999.

I'm surprised too, because there seems to be many people that like her, and yet info on her is so difficult to come by! I like Missin' You, Ex-Boyfriend, and this hard to come by remix of Boyfriend. I'm busy studying for exams, but I'll post up You Send it links so that other people can listen too. What amazes me about her, is that she's only 18 and she's got killer vocals! :sing: Does anybody know what University she's studying at now? Some websites said that it was in America and that she lives here, and others said the same thing about Japan.

I only saw a preview of her songs from some Japanese chart show but I was quite amazed at how great she sounded haha. I can't believe she's been out since 2000 and I've never heard of her until now.

Just an update ~ Crystal released a new single out on the 18th. It contains the following songs:
1. When it falls to love

4. When it falls to love, (the Instrumental)

The main track, When it falls to love is based off a Japanese drama supposedly with the same name. I'm currently trying to find clips of the mv and will post all shortly.

i love koi ni ochitara and my jap friend said it's now a theme song for a dorama that's on with a dude from SMAP leading it! her songs replay and get on which are collabs with m-flo are pretty groovy too! her voice is nice and sophisticated!

aw koo, and i thought i had to start a thread on her. oh well. i knew about her for awhile, always wanting to get her new albums but never could. her new cd "call me miss...", that came out few months ago , it's nice, more pop than r+b, i'll recommend it :happy:

Yeah I really like this album!! I'm happy that the thread didn't die out completely like I thought it would >< I guess outside Japan she isn't that well-known, which is a shame since she is so talented. I absolutely love her music though!!^^

So how famous is she in Japan? I've known about her for a while, but it's been hard to find her songs online. I downloaded one MV from a Korean forum a while ago and she looked so pretty in it. She was wearing a kimono, if I remember correctly. She could dance pretty well too.

Actually, she is well-known throughout Japan, but her presence does not reach past its borders, which may be why it is so difficult to find information/media clips on her :oops: Obviously because of this reason, she is not as mainstream as Hamasaki Ayumi or Utada Hikaru.

I just found a new fan site on her, so I edited the first post.

Is anyone interested in listening to her latest album?? If so, I can upload it.

altho i liked her previous albums more.

i think she got a new single coming up. not sure. i just know she got a new music video called "Kitto Eien Ni" its a nice ballad and music video. she looks beautiful in it.:happy:

jay is a shy_boi ~ I love it when she sings ballads! She brings so much passion and emotion to her songs. Ballads also highlight her strong vocal range. Have you been a CK fan for a long time? Where did you first hear about her?

Crystal is set to start off 2007 with a new single called "きっと永遠に" (Kitto Eien ni). The single was released on January 17, 2007 and will be used as the theme song for the 2007 live-action movie of 僕は妹に恋をする (Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru). Crystal's next single was "こんなに近くで..." (Konna ni Chikaku de...) which was released February 28, 2007, and is the ending theme to the anime のだめカンタービレ (Nodame Cantabile). On March 24, 2007, Crystal Kay was featured in m-flo's latest video "Love Don't Cry" for the last installment of the "m-flo loves" series. It is said that m-flo started this project with Crystal Kay and wanted to end it with her. They previously collaborated with each other in the "REEEWIND!" and "I LIKE IT" singles. Crystal's recent single is "あなたのそばで" (Anata no Soba de) which was released May 16, 2007; this is her first single with only one track and is described as a love anthem with an R&B essence. Her seventh and most recent album, "ALL YOURS", which was released on June 20, 2007 premiered at #1 on the Oricon daily charts with 6,011 copies sold and continued to stay at #1 through the week. ALL YOURS is her first #1 album in her entire eight year career. As of July 23, 2007, ALL YOURS has sold approx. 121,000 copies.
