The performance was great eh! I watched the 1st time with my folks so I couldn't really react cos my dad would flip. But I just caught the immediate repeat and WHoo!! Jay rocked! The music for the whole thing was crazzzzzzzzy especially at the back. All the electric guitars and traditional japanese and Chinese instruments! And was that Jacky who went He he ha hi when Jay pointed the mic to one of the audience cos the camera filmed at such an angle, u can't see who he pointed the mic to until later then they showed Jacky and Kang Kang clapping away.

I liked the boy! Heehee! What will I give man to be able to perform with Jay. And also be recognised by Jay!! Snoopy's so lucky!

Im so disappointed...he worked so hard for the performance..was worried he wouldnt do his best...and then didnt win anything.

I hope he realises that his fans support him whether or not he gets awards and as long as he does his best someone will appreciate his music!!

I was about to post this in news...but nevermind.
Anyway...

I am so pissed and so sad!

I just finished watching the GMAs and I am still in shock. Jay didn't win anything, neither did his MV directors, neither did Vincent Fang. To sum it all up, Jay and 8 D did not win any awards. :cry:

Anyway, some interesting bits.

1) Jay's performance with Snoopy was interesting. They sang "Dad, I'm Back", "Nunchuks", "The Tea Grandpa Makes", "Prague Square", "Gao Shan Qing" and another folk song whose title I can't recall, at the moment. (Still in shock)

2) Jacky and Jolin were due to present an award for the Best Newcomer. And you know Jacky...he never lets up the chance to jest about Jolin and Jay. He first congratulated her on her album's success. But he told her to watch out for "Xiao Zhou" (Small Zhou)...and then the transcript went something like that.

Jacky: Have you heard Xiao Zhou's album?
Jolin: Not yet.
Jacky: Do you like his songs or his person?
Jolin: *stunned* Uhm...both are quite ok. (Camera shoots in to Jay who looks pissed and embarrassed and shy all at one time...yet, he looked like he was trying not to smile. He was looking down, not at them)
Jacky: Oh..
Jolin: Enough...it's very awkward!
Jacky: Awkward? Why?? I was talking about Machi Didi Zhou Li Min...Why are you awkward?
Jolin: Alright alright..enough, let's give out the award.

That's about it, I guess. I didn't see much of Jay. I think he was so neglected. :( How could he not win anything???? GAH.

Even the GMAs Behind The Scenes programme only had one small segment on him. :cry:

Yeah big pissed off everybody. Anyway, I've watched the whole programms and rerun and had typed this. Enjoy :

PART 1 : RED CARPET - 1.5 hours :
Just like MTV Asia Award, but nicer, a very long and wide red carpet and small stage hosted by Heiren ( wearing pinstripe black suit and white shoes) and a girl (who is she, good performance !) . In front, DJ Johny is announcing the arrivees.

Jay came as the 18th arrivee ( of some 50 covered) , accompanied by Vincent and another guy (the new lyricist ?). When DJ Johny announces Jay arrival actually it's the companion of previous arrivee, but the audience already screaming high and low. Jay wore black suit with cream colour strip pants (not adidas 3 strips), white shirt, white ties and white shoes !!. Not a glamour or different attire I must say.

I didn't see Elva, Coco Lee, Stef Sun, David Tao, Lee Hom or Eason. .
Highlights of red carpet moments :
1. SHE brings along a doll to represent Ella.
2. Neat dressing male : Power station (black suit and open white shirts),Tension (jeans and cream tops), Energy (cream suit, two in long jackets),
3. Most of the known female didn't appear too extraordinary. Taozi, Xiao S, Amei, appears sexy . Hebe and Ella were in feminine white dress, Kelly, Evonne, Karen Mok so so. Jolin wearing black strapless dress with formal shoes, hair is styled like doll (2 big curls ) plus silver whitish handbag - she seems uncomfortable wearing that dress - pulling it a bit.
4. the organizer arranges arrivees by couple or threesome. Interesting ones :
a. Taozi and 2 guys - who's the handsome tall guy (he look mix) ?!
b. Xiao Zhu and this Japanese girl - Xiao Zhu was quiet and tired looking
c. Evonne with Jacky Cheung
d. Karen Mok with Ken Zhu - they make a stunning couple !
e. Amei with Didi/ Andrew Machi
f. Jolin with Harlem
g. Xiao S, a guy and Snoopy (the little boy who raps for Jay)

Special guest : Taiwan president - who announces award for Hakka group of the year.

PART II : THE SHOW - 2 ½ hours.

Main host is Taozi. When Taozi steps down the stair, the background music (of Jay ) already start.

Jay performance opens with Snoopy raps on a chair, then shows Jay playing the piano. Both wearing identical light blue pullover, black headcover and black armband.
First song : Dad I'm back, in the middle the piano is a bit classical(really love this part !!!) - Jay rearrange some part.
Then the soprano voice (like YFZM), a woman strolls down from the stairs then got shot by a man, confetti flying down, the curtain opens up - some 10 dancers shows up. The nice part : 4 smaller screen in the background shows Jay album cover and cuts of his MV clips ie Grandfather's tea.
Jay steps up to the big stage and plays martial arts with long sticks along with Snoopy.
Second song : Double stick, the different part : Ow yeah and the the usual Chinese falsetto is sung normally by Jay. Jay steps down and shove the mic to Jacky Wu who then raps He he ha he …Didn't see Jay clearly but seems that he smiled, a dimple showed up !



OTHER PERFORMANCES :
1) titled : BOYZ, featuring BAD (acapella song) , then Comic Boyz (Hey Hah), Tension (Smart), Energy (Come On), closed by "drums" playing, very festive mood, almost like Brazilian Carnival.
2) Jolin, she's all white with fabric cover that opens up to the dancers. She sang 72 changes - start with adidas red tops, golden pants and black boots. Then the tops opens to a silver bikini and necklaces. Then the bottoms opens to white short skirts, she ended up with big fake wing - looks like giant butterfly. Apart of the clothes, it's a plain performance and not really singing, more a dancing performance
3) Male (old crack ?) good voice, quite a long performance, up to 4 songs
4) Jacky Cheung with orchestra, also up to 4 songs, first one is a tribute to the artists who had pas

sed away
5) SARS songs (Hand in Hand) , all audiences stand up and sing together.
6) MAYDAY, good rock n roll.
7) Harlem - attractive, very festive feel to it.
8) Machi Didi , rap by himself - the audiences love it, even Jacky Cheung moved his head along.

*been sobbing since last night* poor Jay. know tt he's really disappointed. he was already quite disappointed when Vincent fang didnt win best lyricist! sigh...i was really really praying he'd win best producer. well even though so, i must say this...he looked really good last night!!! :blush: his hair's not too bad...and he's still very diao and shy...esp when Hei ren interviewed him at the red carpet! haha...i thought his performance was pretty good...? Snoopy's voice is a bit too high and muffled though. should've put Machi Didi and Jay together..might be better! but the way all the songs were arranged into a remix was really REALLY good! and oh yeah, Jacky and Jolin! haha...Jacky is so mean! but i had a good laugh though...and i dont think he looked pissed! i think he was actually feeling quite happy bt what jolin said bt him and even though he tried very hard to pull a straight face, you can actually see a small smile at the corner of his mouth! he was trying so hard not to smile..tt's y he looked down! haha...so cute. i still think they're together even though rumours said they're apart.. they're pretty compatible! and they both wore black! heehee...he must've had his eyes glued on Jolin when she was performing...so sexy,her dance! and Jacky Cheung...oh man, he's the best. i had goosepimples all over when he sang...*wistful sigh*...

i was lucky to find out that AEC was showing the Awards. I managed to watch the red carpet section and then later from Jacky Cheung's performance. So mad that i missed Jay's performance!!! :profanit: Can someone tell me more about his performance?! Or When are the repeats?! I am also very disappointed that Jay didn't win any awards. :cry: One of my big shocks was Eason winning best album. I am sorry to say this( to eason fans), i heard him sing live and i have to to cover my ears! :thumbsdo: I find that most stars are for showing not singing! anyway Jay looked so gorgeous!! wow! thanks for posting the performance! i've been dying to see it after hearing what fans on his alfa music discussion site were talking about. i thought the medley was very well put together. the drama part was a unique addition to jay's performance. kinda sad to hear the changed rap part to "Dad, I've Come Back"... he must have had high hopes for this year's awards after last year's grand sweep. no worries though. let's look forward to next year's awards with the latest album effort. we'll all support you, jay!

i was at the GMA...yes, one of the crazy fans but i hadta leave about 15 minutes before Jay walked on the red carpet. how CRAZY is that? i was so pissed...crying on the taxi hme. argh...all cuz of a dinner with relatives. sigh. i took pics of hei ren and that girl he was with (other host?), s.h.e. cept no ella cuz she was in the hospital, z-chen, and some other ppl that i dunno. argh...if anyone saw me, i was the girl with a camcorder around her neck and a camera. lotsa ppl were staring at me..i dunno why but yeah. i thought it was kinda rude cuz they were just like staring at me like a weirdo. w/e...

for his performance..he sang a mix of dad i came back w/ the lyrics a bit diff, 2 chinese folk songs that i'm not sure, nun-chuks, ninja, yi fu zi ming (he didn't really sang...some girl pretending to be the opera girl came out and then in the part where it goes BANG BANG BANG in the song, some guy from the audience came and shot the girl) then some shuang dao? cuz he was like using this stick thing, then grandpa's tea...and i forget. so many songs. i think it woulda been better if the boy didn't record cuz u could tell he was lip syncing or like...nt singing live. also if they made his performance longer cuz it was too short! also the stage wasn't well made i think..cuz in one part jay was on one side w/ the lil boy, and the dancers on the main one, and i think the cameramen had a hard time cuz they kept changing screens so fast and yeah..i dunno. anyone agree?

I'm really really sad for Jay. I watched the awards for 3 other friends/fans and we were realllly disappointed.. the heartening part was how Jay's fans were behind him ALL THE WAY. U could hear clearly they chanting "jielun! jielun! jielun!" everytime they were about to announce the winner for an award 8D got nominated for. It was sooo loud!! even the award presenters looked a little unnerved at one point, when they realized they were gonna announce a name that wasn't Zhou Jie Lun. The funny part was that when they were about to announce the winner for Best Male Singer, which Jay was NOT nominated for, the fans still chanted Jie Lun! Jielun! and completely drowned out the voices of other fans who were shouting the names of singers that WERE actually nominated (like jacky cheung and david tao)!! It just shows their complete dedication to Jay.. hehe..
Anyways, the judging panel this year is jus f**ked up. Even if you overlook Jay not getting a single award, there were other incidents that shows how freaking close-minded and bigoted the judges this year were. For example, 3 singers were nominated for Best Taiwanese language Male Singer. When the award presenters opened the envelope, their faces looked all puzzled. Turns out the judges decided that NONE of the 3 singers were good enough to win the award. Then why the heck did u nominate them??? It was so embarassing, and u could tell some pple in the audience were pretty pissed.. and someone shouted that ALL 3 should get the award cos they're all so good. It was really awkward.. n like, how can Shin Yue Tuan NOT win the best band category???? Im soo pissed!!!! ok, i better stop myself here.. but in essence, this year's awards was a poor gauge of real talents

The 'black horse' that won 'The Best Producer' because he sang Hakka which is...consider unique in the Asia Music Industry.

When I read this topic,i thought that maybe in the past 2 year he got many many award so this year he would not get one because the judges may think that the others should have a chance to recieve it.
