to start it off....how did you discover them?
i am still a newbie when it comes to them....but i still know my stuff..(thanx to Maggs!)
i first saw JTL on the Asia Awards...loved them! then i later back-tract their history to H.O.T! read all the info i could...spent alot of mony on imported cds....and here i am now! a crazed, but loyal fan of Choti!

hmm.. i think it started from my friend, i remember he said 'korean music is awesome' and he sent me "git it up" by h.o.t.. and i just looked for more and more mp3's of h.o.t. my brother downloaded some of their performances and i duno.. some of them scared me.

hmmm... i'm not huge h.o.t fan, but one of my korean friends lent me one of their cds and i burned it and listened to it almost everyday for a month. but as for looking up info on them, i never bothered with it.

How did I discover Choti?
My best friend in the 5th grade was Korean.. her older sister liked H.O.T. (When their 1st album came out)
I also had another friend that loved em too.....
and that's how the story goes.

I was at my friend's house and her sister was playing their 3rd album. That was the first time I heard of them ever. Then later on, I had another friend who was in love with them too. She lent me their 2nd album. Then, Napster came along and downloaded a bunch of their mp3s. I asked a friend to buy me their 4th album when they were in Taiwan, and from then I really got hooked. I have all of them albums. =P

hmm. i think i heard abt them when they won the best international artist at the VMAs. then later i read abt them in a magazine. asiaweek i think. they were really popular. and i saw Kangta. i was hooked. ^__^ then i got on asianavenue. and saw lots of pics of kangta! well the pics were the haengbok days. my fave. anyway, i still didn't do anything abt it. didn't buy their albums or anything. that time i had no money to buy anyway..
then our tv station started showing a korean chart show. and they showed HOT's outside castle. i liked it so much! it was the concert version..filmed in sydney also. and i didn't know they were such a phenomenal group. they had crazy fans. then i bought their 4th concert CD.. it was so good. then searched hi and lo for the VCD edition. only got it this year in korea! it's a really good final concert.. and sadly the year where i really got into them, they disbanded! that's when i went crazy searching. dloading all their past stuff. any video i could find. but i only have 1 of their CD, which is Outside Castle. and it's their best CD by far i think. with most of them writing and producing the songs.this is when i realised how talented they were. and u all know their past cd's were mostly plagiarized by other artists. >__<
but there's still kangta, JTL and hee jun.. when kangta came out i was so amazed. i love his music style and his first 2 albums..
during H.O.T i didn't pay much attention to jae won ,tony, woo hyuk. but after JTL i started noticing them. hehe. the were really overshadowed by kangta and heejun. it's great they found their fame with JTL and showed us their potential and talent. now i appreaciate all of them much more when they were in HOT after going their seperate ways.. Tony ahn is so cute! :love:

mine is I-Yah! cuz it was the second HOT song i heard (the first being CANDY) and it had the kind of power behind the vocals. i cant explain it..but i always feel really good after i hear it...despite the sadness of the song its self.

Iyah is one of my fave songs!! i love how it goes from rockish to a nice melodic tune. kangta's part. ^__^ and i love the performance too. i like it more after reading the touching lyrics.. it was dedicated to the children who died in an orphanage fire or something... >__<

my fave song is, Outside Castle and A Song For Lady.. i just melt everytime i listen to A song for LAdy.. especially Jae Won's talking part.. the one that goes.. mianeyo..chongmal mianheyo.... ahhhhh.. and kangta looks soooooooo goood in all the performance ..:excited:

my friend got me totally hooked on shinhwa after she lent me her giganto collection of their vids, and so i foudn out about kangta that way because he's in a few of them, usually with leejihoon and hyesung... o yea, and heejun and kangta also appear in the sm town vids.

anyway, i thought kangtas voice was really nice and he looked really good as well, so i asked that friend about him, and she got all excited and started "educating" me bout kpop.. you know, sm entertainment, H.O.T., boa, and all that good stuff :happy:
and then summer arrived, and i was home all the time... so of course, some massive dl-ing would be expected :)

btw, i think the first vid i saw was "outside castle" and i was really really impressed both by the song and cool dance steps.

i first heard of HOT from my one kpop fanatic friend back in my early years of high school. i first saw them when i dled their Outside Castle song, and i became a fan because of kangta heheh.
i really like their songs Outside Castle, For Younga, Always My Love, and Hwanhee.
HOT was basically what got me into the male kpop groups, because before i mainly listened to the female artists.

I first found out about H.O.T during their 3rd album...actually that was when I fell in love with them i guess i could say lol well i first saw them performing for 012 or something like that way back in the day with solid, ref, idol, etc...and h.o.t first came out so they were in their first album obviously...then years later i saw a vid of them perf their 3rd album medley and hope...got me hooked and so i went online (the power of the internet) and searched them up...^^ my fav member was kang ta cuz he had such a good voice then tony just cuz he's cool n i think moon hee jun is talented too especially the music that he writes/composes...they all have skills each of them ^^

I never believe the HOT reuniting rumours. i do want them to come back, and perform for their fans. just one night or one concert will do. to give us some sort of closure. they disbanded so abrubtly. after holiding a H.O.T Forever Concert! how ironic!

actually, i started getting really into H.O.T when we had the Mnet best 27 chart show.hehe. they were playing Outside Castle Then. i was more amazed by their popularity. u know when they showed the Concert clip and they had SOOO many crazy fans in white. and then i saw Kangta. i thought he was soo good looking, u remember the clip when he was walking in in his White overcoat. it is in the concert slips.haha. i really liked his blonde hair cut then. ^^ . but HOT weren't the first Kpop act i listened to. Jinusean was the first.haha. dunno how i got into them. somebody from asianavenue introduced me to them.^^

Oh no, it's not that I'm a boy. I'm very open to all music, and my sense of style has made people label me as homosexual several times, not that I mind. I have to say that HOT's style of fashion is very unique, as far as male singers go. I'm liable to say that I have not listened to too many of their songs (any suggestions?), so my opinion isn't the worthiest.

But from what I've heard, it was only so-so, except for one song which I obsessed over for a while though I can't remember the name.

As for 1TyM, I appreciate their sense of style, and the fact that their rapping isn't all "cashmoney". They have a very good range of music style, from rap (1TyM) to love/romantic (Falling in Love).
Falling in Love is probably my favorite song by male singers other than some of Jay Chou's.

Well, enough of 1TyM, back to topic... any good suggestions for HOT?

Hello yay another H.O.T fan haha ^^ hm...Drunken Tiger they rap mostly...so i would label them as rap artists...what kind of songs would you like from H.O.T? hm...maybe you can try 8.15 from their 4th album...it's sort of slow or has a melody in it but it has a beat n rapping in it...really cool and orchestral sorta too...you say you like falling in love from 1tym? I have their cd but I don't know what happened to it and I haven't heard that song in ages so I'm not sure what kind of song that is...is it a slow song? i like one love from 1tym...anyways back to H.O.T haha hm..another song i would recommend if you want a slow song is celebrate also from their 4th album.

in a JTL perf. i have... Hyukie was wearing a grey suit with a loose small silver link belt with black driving gloves. the suit jacket was open showing a very low cut lighter grey shirt and under that was a lovely white collerless shirt and to top it all off... a great pair of leather black sneeker style shoes. he must have been so warm in all that, but man did he look good~! ^_^
incase you didnt know.. JTL is 3/5 of H.O.T. they are more focused on the rap/ r&b part of music. none of the pop pop popy stuff of H.O.T. (since it seems like those are the ones you dont like) i strongly suggest checking them out~! they started my whole H.O.T/JTL obsession... and it only keeps growing~! tee hee.
so what is you kind of fashion? LOL~! look at me... i could talk about male clothing all day if i could. i had a friend... i picked out his entire wardrobe. i can never seem to find the clothes i want for ME, but i can pick out an outfit for a guy easily~! how sad is that? LOL~!

Babystarz: Ah, I remember Celebrate. I think that was the first HOT song that I've heard. That, and this other song that reminded me a bit of carnival music <-- didn't like that one.

One Love is sorta similar to Falling in Love, but they don't rap in FIL. It's got a very pretty melody and the vocals are very crisp.

Shouling: I think I've heard Get it Up, not sure though. I'll probably take a look at those slow ones.. gotta play them softly though, or my roommate will start calling me "gay" for listening to "asian boy bands".

As for fashion sense, I have to say that I love solid colors, and normally don't wear clothes that don't match. I wear a lot of dark blue, gray, or red. I dun dress like most people X_X

JTL's members are doing solo stuff at the moment. I love Tony's solo album! His voice can't be considered a very strong one, but it has its charm and the songs are really amazing!
I love most of them.

Jaewon is going to release his album soon too. It's going to be an r&b album. I'm not a big fan of Jaewonnie, but it'd be nice to listen to what he has to offer :-)

I'll post Tony's interview a bit later. It's really touchy, he talks about H.O.T times and reveals a lot of what they had to suffer when they just started out. It's so sad and this interview made me hate SM thousand times more :oops:

as for Love Is , i like this song too, but you know, there is a russian song that has the same chorus lol. When i first listened to Love Is, i thought that smth sounded familiar, then i found that russian song (quite an old song) and found out that choruses are almost the same.

He talks about how tough it was to start their (H.O.T's) singing career. They could eat only rice and sausages, they hardly had any money :cry:, and SM wasn't helping much *kicks SM* and Tony thought that every new singer had to suffer such difficulties :cry:

well i first heard H.O.T from my friend...didn't really pay attention to them but somehow i bought a pirate dvd of their 01 concert....(didn't watch it until now lol)

later like last year, i really like KangTa's Persona the song....then later again this year, I watched his clips on youtube, then i listened to KT & V songs.....got so in love with him, so i search more on every topic that includes him and i found out he was in H.O.T~ hahaha so i began to like H.O.T too

and then i saw X-man....watched the ones with KT and Tony in it....

so if i have to pick fr my most favorite one to the least favorite....
#1 would be KangTa!!!! then Tony, Heejun, Woohyuk, lastly Jaewon...
