Jay sang this at his Fantasy concert.

Chinese with Pinyin:

m:你 知 道 吗? 爱 你 并 不 容 易

*c:晨 曦 细 雨 重 临 在 这 大 地

Translation:

Did you know? Loving you wasn't easy
It took a lot of courage
Wasn’t it fate that led me to love you?
And yet, you have now left me

It rained, pouring on this vast place here
Lonely, I tried to avoid and evade
But the moment I turned around
Standing on this familiar street
The person walking behind me turns out to be you

Perhaps its my sad destiny
For me to have to miss you for the rest of my life
A lonely heart wandering admist the harsh winds and strife
All for you

All along, I had you
So even tears were worth it
Even though heartbreak came, since at least I was able to meet you
All along, I had you
So facing the wind was worth it
Even though it was inevitable that one day we would part

Always in the rain
Trying to avoid the past
But yet we meet under the rain like this
Always in the rain
One can't help but miss the past
And we haven't met since
Since those last painful tears - last embrace - last goodbye

uh....i've actually got the mp3 of the song and the first verse is in mando...the second in canto...hence combining jacky cheung's song with a little creativity from himself i presume....?

so all in all, its a half mando half canto song.......

i love it...its my favourite song, i've even got it on my handyphone.....

it made me cry the first couple of times i heard it.........

it hasn't been a very publicised song....but i reckon all the jay-ballad lovers would love it to bits.......

actually, bobo, the original song by jacky had a cantonese AND mandarin version. when i have some time, i'll do up the chinese lyrics with pinyin for this song cuz jay just alternated between the two versions. =)

sorry you guys, this totally slipped my mind..it was a long time ago. i've added the chinese. the mandarin parts are noted with "m" and the cantonese with "c" ... i don't want to butcher the pin yin since i'm clueless how to do it for the mandarin, much less for the cantonese. is there a system for cantonese? well, if you have time lisa, i'll leave the job to you. sorry! and thanks!

hi, oh gosh, i really love this song,i had known for a long time that it is jacky's song but i didnt get so interested, after DLing jay's clip ....i was just somehow, speechless, i think the way jay sang the song is so so so touching and ....though most of his canto parts are quite vague, but the emotion he put in it just made the song....so nice.....the way he concentrate made me love the song again.....and from the clip its quite clear tat jay is sort of smiling...coz he is shy while singing the canto parts and when the audience has such huge responses ......great song.

alright, finally got around to adding the pinyin. please note that the pinyin for the cantonese parts are not han yu pin yin. think of them in english sounds and you should be ok with the pronunciation more or less.

feixuan: Yi Lu Shang You Ni (一路上有你) is the title for the Mandarin version of this song. Fun Sau Zong Yiu Joi Yu Teen (分手總要在雨天) is the title for the Cantonese version of this song.

feixuan: this song was originally sung by jacky cheung. since he's a HK artist, sometimes you'll hear the same song having a cantonese AND a mandarin version. the canto version was the original, i believe. and that had the 分手總要在雨天 title. it was very very popular. the mando version came later and the title is 一路上有你. usually song titles are different in canto and mando because of the different lyrics. however, there are times when they keep the same title for both versions and try to work the lyrics around the same theme. :D

feixuan: yup, jay mixed in some of the cantonese lyrics when he sang this song at an HK concert. i think he was trying to make it more special for his HK fans. :D it was really sweet of him to practice the lyrics and sing it for them. it must have taken quite some time to memorize them. and he probably did half of it in mandarin cuz memorizing the whole thing in cantonese would have been really draining.

wackycashew: i think so if jay sing all part of this song in cantonese jay ll be drain...haha.....and i ll be too...but i think this song is beautiful in itself...whatever cantonese version or mandarin....but in cantonese i ll be more practise to sing well...... :bleh:
