The movie he's gonna be in with Edison Chen is called 'Initial D', based on the Japanese comics (which are not bad) and it's going to be directed by Tsui Hark/Xu Ke (he did "Time and Tide" and the Huang Fei Hong movies starring Jet Li, my childhood hero). This is a confirmed project and I'm quite pleased because I'm reading Initial D now and since Jielun's the leading actor, he has got to be playing the protagonist, and the protagonist's personality is somewhat similar to his, the quiet type. And also, Tsui Hark is quite a genius so it would be interesting.

Other than that though, I really wouldn't want to see him pull a Chinese actor-singer kinda job, especially if acting isn't what he's really good at. And especially if it's gonna another 'Hidden Track' kinda gig 'cause that was just ridiculous. I wouldn't mind if he does an Eminem, like, do a movie, leave it at that, but he did mention something about wanting to play a pianist and that's interesting too and I think it's rather suitable so I wouldn't mind if he does that too.

Whatever it is, I'd be quite angry if he does a commercialised, nonsensical big-budget movie... that would be... bah.

Well, I think it depends on the role that he takes on. If he takes on some macho-man type of role, certainly he won't be able to perform as well as if he takes on the role of the silent, reclusive type - in other words, a character whose personality mirrors his own. If he takes on such a role, his mumbling would add even more to the character that he's playing, and I personally think he'd do very well in one of those arthouse films, like Mei Li Shi Guang/The Best of Times, which is a very nice Taiwanese flick, and Lan Se Da Men, which is another great Taiwanese film. If he decides to act, I think he'd be one of those more understated actors that you see quite often in arthouse films, which is one of the best things in the world if you ask me, so that would be pretty interesting.

Jielun in a mainstream blockbuster, however, won't really work, I think. But we won't know until Initial D comes out, yeah? :)

Erm, I think he's actually going to be in a movie. I was listening to the TV in another room and I heard the reporter guy or whomever mention Jay's name and how he wrote a song for a series or a movie and then (i think) he said that Jay was going to make a movie with the guy in the series/movie is that true? Gah :oops: ::sigh:: no one was around to verify, and I'm bad enough as it is with Chinese so the man could of been talking about the moon and I would have thought it was Jay (even though that's kind of far fetched "yue" and "Jie Lun" don't sound at all similar). Jay has such great musical talents I think he should just stick with music... and his personality really doesn't seem to fit with the demands an actor must face... He's too shy! I donno... I just don't want him to be everywhere... If he becomes an actor and does horribly, ppl might forget how great a musician he is. JAY IS BORN TO BE A MUSICIAN!!!!!

Although jay looks like he knows how to act (judging from his MVs), i wouldnt want him to pursue a movie career.
Part of jay's appeal, i think, is that he's unique and he expresses himself in his own style....he isnt a sellout. I mean, if he does it would seem like he was just banking on his popularity. it'd be downright cheesy, in my opinion. Besides, isnt it always better to leave ur audience wanting? :wink2:

That's an interesting thought. For sure I would be very excited to see him in the big screen... But then again, I agree with the fact that he is born a musician and an artist first and foremost. I think Jay should just stick to singing and writing lovely songs!

Not to say that Jay s' acting sucks or anything... but I just feel that he shldn't broaden his horizons too much... acting in MVs are fine for me. In fact, I like his MVs a lot! =P

My main concern is that if Jay starts to venture into the acting scene, he won't be able to concentrate on his songs and that will spells drastic doomsday for me...

I started liking Jay cos of his music though now I have morhed into a full-blown Jay fan but the core of my liking for him is just bcos of his music...

Call me selfish, but I really hope he won't act too much in movies...

Ahhh! I hope Jay doesn't go into the movie industry. In hollywood, everyone and their mom is doing both singing and acting, which I think is so incredibly stupid. JLO, Hilary Duff, even Jennifer Love Hewitt call themselves singers and actresses. I'm sorry, but that doesn't work. In my opinion, acting and singing are two VERY different things (even though they may have some similarites), and this "job hopping" or whatever you want to call it, would be like a surgeon who decided he wanted to also be a professional basketball player, or a dentist that also became a Dj. I hope Jay keeps to his beautiful music and etablishes himself as a renowned singer for years to come other than credit himself as both actor and singer. Alas, if he does make a movie, *sigh,* I'd still buy it.
