I'm not his fan,but I do like a few of his songs.Not sure of the names,but one of the song was also sung by Cass Pang(think that's her last name).I think his singing is okay.But I felt really happy for him when he won the male singer award thing(while Sammi won female award singer).He said something about waiting for 15 years to have this award or something like that.

i consider him to be one of the better cantonese male singers. i don't really follow him since i tend not to follow canto music in general, but he just released a new album called "On My Story". it's worth a listen.

i used to like him............but nowadays, i hardly listen to HK singers.....

his voice is alright, but he's been pretty quiet in the music industry these past 6 months.... i just got his latest album that he released like a couple days ago, but i still didn't get a chance to hear it since i've been playing Jay's songs all day long. :love:

i think he was really popular when he got the 'most popular male award' on TVB 2 years ago.....was it 2 years? well, around there. but then he just went down......well, it just seemed it.

this is off topic but i really wonder what is going on between him and sammi, i thought they made a good couple.

i'm not really a fan, but he's one of the very few ppl in hk who i actually like !! (as in personality wise) he seems really nice, i duno, perhaps its just me

he has a nice voice tho, its not too bad, but i dun follow his music or anything

this is off topic but i really wonder what is going on between him and sammi, i thought they made a good couple.

Yeah I'm also wondering what is going on with the both of them.They were together before right?But for some reason they broke up.When I was looking at the newspapers these few days they were always metioning about Andy saying 'She(meaning Sammi) is the most important lady in my life(or something like that)'.Okay I'm off topic too here.

He's pretty famous now probably after he won that male artist award thingy two years ago?Or was it last year?Anyway I forgot about it.

I dont listen to a lot of HK canto music anymore, but Andys songs are usually good. Jays 'yi fu zhi min' reminded me a lot of his 'Rome', because they both had the italian opera.

But the biggest speculation about Andy and Sammi had to be the 'kitchen incident'. Even earlier this year at the JSG awards, they were still making fun of him by asking Miriam if she was talking to her ex-boyfriend in the toilets before, thanking him for his support!

What do you think of Andy's acting?

I haven't watched a lot of his movies(since he doesn't do much),but I don't think his acting is good at all.I prefer his singing better.

Andy hui is a Liverpool FAN!! I was surprised!!
:) He is not bad. Worked really hard for more than ten years and he certainly deserve the best singer award(JSG). I wonder did he and Sammi Cheng really broke up?? Whatever...

Ronald!! I forgot his name...yeah thats who i meant. Miriam and Ronald.

I havent actually seen him act before. And i though he deserved his award a lot too, he seemed to have worked really hard and when he started crying, it was pretty obvious it meant a lot to him.

I'm sure it meant a lot to him.He's been working really hard in order to get to that stage where his dream has finally come true.Andy was crying,but Sammi was also crying too.I think that Sammi and Andy would have made such a great pair if they haven't broken up though.He really did deserve that award!

andy's one of the more talented artiste in hk. he was once considered to be the next jacky cheung. coz of his talent and his trademark love songs.

i agree that he has worked hard. i mean just to survive for like 10 years in a tough and competitive industry without any rewards, to finally be recognized in the past 5 years or so, is a great achievement.

however, i don't really like his recent albums and songs. they seem really sad and not to make sense. has anybody noticed that quite a few of his recent songs have "nan ren" (men) in the title? what's up? does anybody like the song "men hurt the most"? i can't stand it. all i hear in the lyrics is "nan ren" this and "nu ren" that!

hope he gets better songs soon!

Yeah...i dont like a lot of HK music at the moment. I changed from english to chinese canto music when songs like Easons 'Shall we talk' and Andys 'Lan Lie(?)' were released. I thought they were really nice. Now, its changed too much and i started listening to mandarin music, which is how i disovered Jay!

Recently, hk music has been all modernized, and i hope artists start singing songs which they want to sing and not what the target teenagers want them to sing.

I agree with what jessca said about artists.They should sing what they want to sing and not what other teenagers or other people what the artists to sing.Cause it's their career and they should sing something that has meaning to them not just to teenagers or adults.

Yeah that's true when he's with his good friends William,Edmond(think that's how you spell) and that other guy.What ever his name is called.When all four of them are together,it's actually really funny cause they mostly joke around and tell bad habits or embrassing things about each other. :laughing:

When Andy is doing an interview without any of his good pals,he seems to be more quiet and serious.Well that's what I think.

Maybe cause he's shy without his friends around or maybe he doesn't have much to say or wouldn't want to fool around.It's funny watching all four of them in interviews and than talking about embrassing habits and jokes. :laughing: But Edmond doesn't talk much though.Maybe Andy feels more comfortable being around his friends than being alone.

Yeah he came back out with a new song called 'seven pals' or something like that.I think it has something to do with his friendship with the guys.I think Andy or whoever said that Edmond had tons of music sheets taped on his wall or something.It was on the Jade Starbiz show a long time ago.

Andy has a new commercial right?It has something to do with cell phones or what?I can't remember but he was dressed in dark colours.I think Back or Blue.

Candy Lo singing with Andy?Really?The last song I heard from Andy was called um.....Not sure the name of the song but he was singing with a group called 'Double R'(I think that's the name of the group).I didn't like the song though.Didn't like the singing from the two guys too.

Yeah I wish Jade Starbiz was longer too.Sometimes they just show it for like ten mintues.I haven't been watching the show for a while.

panda_shine-You never heard of Candy sing before?Her voice is kind of low not as low as Yumiko though(if you know who Yumiko is).Anyway I don't know how to describe what Candy's voice sounds like.

ahmui-I really haven't heard much of Andy's songs actually.So I can't really say what his past albums were like and how his new album is doing.Maybe Andy can start writting his own lyrics then having people writting it for him.

Did Andy write his own lyrics before?

I was just curious about that cause I don't know if he has or hasn't.Anyone knows?

haha :D .. was 'on hits' really a disaster? i only recognized 3 or 4 songs there..
and i got 5 songs from 'on my story' i think they're ok la..

but i still prefer 'roma' for his cantonese album.. i love almost all of the songs there.. ^^

Jewel_Dust: yea i think andys tried to write some songs before, they were alright, not too bad, but not super hits either. i cant really think of any specific songs off the top of my head, but i agree, he should totally look into writing or composing his own songs.

iron_box: hahaah i hardly listen to his "on hits", the old songs are alright, like dirt and roma, but not too fond of his other songs on there. but it came with an andy mug! :excited:

i actually like his "end of the century" cd, at least thats what i think its called, its the black cover and hes got like horns drawn in or something. its a compilation of the number 1 hits i think. and also "previously" was really good too.

i'm actually listening to his "on my story" for only the second time since i've got it, (mainly cause i'm listening to jay :whistle: ) so i cant really say too much, but overall it sounds pretty good. havent skipped any songs yet so thats a good sign! :thumbsup:

ahhaha my mom hates him cause he's always rumored to be a pervert or something, its like an on going joke or something for him. ahah :bleh:

I never heard of any of the songs(meaning the songs he wrote himself.So even Nic and Edmond wrote songs for him too.Never knew that either.

Almost every single music store here in Canada was playing Andy's songs today.They don't sound so bad.But why wouldn't they play Jay's songs!?!?Anyway back to topic.I think that Andy has improved a lot these few years with his singing.Anyone agree?

Actually you dont see many artists holding their gf/bf hands before.The only pair I can think of is Nic and Faye.THose are the only two I ever saw holding hands.

I think that Louis and Sammi looks great together too.Can't choose who looks better with Sammi though.Hard to choose.

Yes it's true that Louis used to have a girlfriend.I'm not sure her name,but she really isn't famous.Lately she hasn't been doing any dramas or anything.I'm sorry I can't tell you much about her because I don't know her chinese or english name.I'll try to find it for you when I have time.

Oh its ok! I kinda have an idea of what she looks like and what her name is but I cant really come up with it! :blush: ..OH I think the girl's name is Au Ching Yee or Au Sin Yee...Something like that!

Yah I got to hear a little bit of Andy Hui's new cd but the one I heard the most is Track #1 ('Big Man') Saw him saying it and some other songs in Jade SOlid Gold :laughing:

After when 'Ye Hui Mei' album came out.Only one store was playing Jay's music.The other stores were playing Andy's music.But I like a few of the songs from his new album.They don't sound so bad.They are okay...well to me.

i find the opposite, i actaully always hear jay whenever i step into the music store (my friends have to drag my out of there most of the time :dry: ). i only hear andy on the radio.

yeah over here they always play Jay's stuff in music stores and everything!I once went to this night market thing and like 3/4 of the music stands were playing Ye Hui Mei and I got all excited and my friend thought I was crazy just standing there and listening to it :angel:

yea its possible that he might have based some stuff on his own life, but i cant really say for sure. to tell you the truth, i dont know too too much about andy and his life, just kinda follow his music and stuff.

oohh which reminds me, i heard on the radio the other morning that its implied that sammit and andy arent together anymore, their friend eddie ng let it slip in an interview or something. and there was a group picture taken at andys house for his birthday and sammi wasnt there!! so i dontt hink they are together anymore.. which is a shame cause i think they were so cute together!!

I guess some songs are based on his life.For some reason I think that Andy doesn't feel very happy after he and Sammi broke up.I wonder what went wrong.

i ddint catch what eddie saidin the interview, something along th elines of them both being happy apart or something. i think all the rumors going around with sammi and louis is based on the fact that they did some movies together and are trying to sell tickets by making stories up about them.

Yeah that's true.Sammi and Louis have done a few movies together already so most likely is that these are just rumours.

I haven't heard of anything thing about Andy lately....again.DIdn't look at the newspapers yet either.

Anyone ever go to his concerts before?Tell me what it was like...actually tell us what it was like.

i havent had a chance to go to one of his concerts, he nver comes here for concerts, but hes always here to vacation, never had the pleasure of running into him somewhere :blush: eheheheh, of course i always see him in my dreams!! right up there with jay :love:

:laughing: So you also live Andy too?I never got a chance to go to any of his concerts either.My mom and her friends went to his concert....it was last year or this year.Can't remember.I wanted to go too,but the concert was held at a casino place so I couldn't go. :cry:

I remember that there was an interview he did with one of the chinese radio stations here in Canada.He took off his shirt and threw it(so one of his fans got it) but he said 'Throw that away,cause it's really stinky with all my sweat on it'....or something like that.

eeekk!! my auntie just told me about the on-hong-show they are having in hk on sept 17-19th. grrr i'm soo mad!!!! i was sooo hoping that they will have a concert during christmas cause i'll be heading there this winter, and i miss it again!! i'm so mad!! :profanit:

for that concert in hk its supposed to be andy hui and william so. theres like 3 shows or something, i'm guessing all their friends may be there too... maybe sammi will make a special guest apperarnce!!!

Oh I never heard of any concert thing in HK that had Andy in it.It seems like Andy's album is selling okay.William's isn't selling really good though.Not sure if you heard about the piece of news yet,but it was awhile ago.

I don't think Sammi will be a special guest for the concert though.Cause then rumours might start again about Sammi and Andy.Well she might be...just what I think.

Some of Andy's mandarin songs is quite good actually. But he always seems to be doing covers of songs fm other artists during his concerts. Personally thinks he is not too great a singer as he is not blessed with a more captivating voice.

i'm not really a fan of his but i think his voice is great. i like some of his songs, especially his duet with evonne hsu, i forgot the title of the song coz it's quite old. aside from his voice, i think he's pretty hot! is he still together with sammi cheng? anyway, i can't wait to hear his next album! :D

i quite like Andy Hui and i agree that he is one of the best HK male singers in the music industry today.

i hardly listen to his songs but i quite like that song called 'a step of a lifetime' that was posted in the Downloads & links forum
