Aussie Aussie Aussie! OI! OI! OI!

*cheers*
*waves toy kangaroos and platypuses*
*throws lamingtons and tim tams in the air and into our mouths*
*boils billy tea under the coolabah tree*
*sings national anthem* *tries to sing the 2nd verse of national anthem* *fails miserably*
*climbs ayres rock*
*kicks john howard*

Yup! We are up to part 5 already! Finally realised why I couldnt post anything!! (was getting majorly distressed!!!)

Things we were discussing: (old thread is here (http://jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=7113))
* our favourite underwear
*what we like in a potential partner (and do we have criteria...) - appearance, nationality, education/job, clothes (cop uniform/business attire), gender...(ok we werent discussing that...but we should! lol it's better not to assume anything, dont want to make an ass out of u and me), personality traits...
*do we have a partner/have we found that special someone (yep, xiaoli just HAD to mention that huh?)
*what kinda partner would we be (eg. vashie is the jealous type  lol)

I forgot to say that I like suits!!! they are hot...or a black suit jacket over jean and a t-shirt?? that's damn sexy too!! *thinks of robbie williams*
yeh vash, i think i just like cops coz of the uniform and that's it. haha. well, it helps coz the new and young cops are always buff and stuff and that's nice  Maybe i like men that are strong and dominate. lol  but then...of course i dont want it to turn all wife-beating/abusive kinda thing...*ahem* anyway...

hmm yeh i think it adds points to a guy if he's smart, definitely. and high level job and education. like when i meet a dentist i'm like "hey, dentists tend to make a lot of money, and that would be good!" i know thats superficial (yeh im not denying that i'm superficial), but it cant just be me that's thinking that right? it's not a must but it's a point adder!

I agree with the whole imperfection thing...a guy can be totally nice etc but there'll just be ONE OR TWO things that annoy me about them and then that's the end of that! "Let's just be friends..." lol. Or if i think they're great and I do like them and look past their imperfections, they dont seem to like ME that much :? Oh so, yeh, have i found my special someone yet? No. *sigh* What about you guys?

Oh so, yeh, have i found my special someone yet? No. *sigh* What about you guys?
i thought i did...
let's just leave it at that...

hmmmm
jealous in a good way i hope...>.<
more protective than jealous maybe¿

lol, what an Aussie-fied start! hang on though, I didn't know Tim Tams were an Aussie thing?! Is it?! If so, the rest of the world is MISSING OUT!!

*tries to sing the 2nd verse of national anthem*

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross.. erm yeah, that's all I know.

Fave underwear ay? Don't really have a fave pair but I like black underwear.. it just looks good.

Oh, and I love it when guys wear the blazer + jeans combo too!

A little bit of jealousy from a guy is nice cuz it shows he cares, but they've gotta be careful not to cross into the annoyingly paranoid and insecure zone.

lol, this post did not flow at all.

vashdestampede
04-18-2005, 11:13 AM
i had to learn it for high school...and we sang it EVERY week >.<

i have a lucky pair of underwear...but i never wear them just in case the luck goes away...
i've thought about carrying them around...but i think that's a lil too weird

Logic
04-18-2005, 11:21 AM
You can carry your lucky underwear in a Myers bag or something, that way if you get caught, you could say u just bought it! hehehe

Vegemite sucks!!! -_-

Go the land of the Tim Tam! :bounce: Haha, xiaoli, I remember reading somewhere that Jennifer Love Hewitt loved the Tim Tams so much when she came to Aus when she went back to the US she got them imported  They are sinfully yummy thougb *licks lips*

I used to be able to sing the whole anthem, first and second verse but my mind's completely blank now  Shayby darl, you like cop's? God, I hate them. From personal experience I think they were rather incompetent, and I just don't like them.

Hmm, for my perfect guy I'd like him to be tall, as in higher than 177cm and taller than me. I've had way too much of looking down literally on people and I won't be able to handle it in a partner. I'd like him to be good-looking, but eh, you never know what's going to happen and I wouldn't throw away some really lovely just because they didn't look like my Binny  Also, I'd prefer Asian, because right now that's all I'm interested in and I suppose it'd be easier for the parents and future family. Then again, asian could mean korean/etc, which would pretty much still have a language barrier but urgh, I guess I'll know when the time comes.

Oh yes, has to be intelligent, not nessecarily rich, but has the potential to become something great.

xiaoli
04-18-2005, 01:16 PM
Doesn't every school have to sing the national anthem every week? I did, even in primary school.

Oh yeah and vash, if you don't wear your lucky underwear.. it doesn't bring you any luck right? So even if you wear them and the luck runs out, at least you got some luck out of them, rather than leaving them to gather dust! lol

As for cops, yeah I tend to picture Chief Wiggum-type, donut-eating dudes.. no hot ones like hmm, say Nic Tse in Gen-X Cops.

aznbballer
04-18-2005, 01:29 PM
Yeh, jennifer love hewitt went on Rove live and showed everyone how to have tim tams with hot chocolate! Rove ended up giving her a basket full of tim tams! Thats a really good present.

xiaoli-i haven't ever sung the Australian anthem at school! guess we're not that patriotic! besides, majority of students are international students who don't know much of the anthem. btw, does anyone know the 2nd verse to it?

Shay
04-18-2005, 02:40 PM
hahaha we had to sing it in primary school all the time, so i know the first verse.. never go onto the 2nd verse though. our anthem's alright...it's better than "waltzing matilda" (which is crap!!). werent' they thinking of changing it to that? bleh. i like the french national anthem heaps better though... it gives off a bloody and revolution-ish and lets-fight kind of atmosphere perfect for sporting games! i mean...."our home is girt by sea"??? what kind of a crap line is that???? a song that's singing about geography??

xiaoli - i was afraid that my thread-starting was too excessively patriotic. lol. i thought i might scare people off....lol.

yue, i know what you mean by the whole asian family/parents thing, i guess it's more likely that they'll have similar values, etc (even if they dont have the same language). oh yue...vashie is tall, asian...lives in your city! :winkz:

hey, cops are cool! well, the hot ones anyway. i saw a cop car in the city today and scouted (yes, i scouted....) for cops, but it was just this chick and this ugly short guy *shudder* Ugly short guys shouldn't be allowed to be cops!!!! >< they give cops a bad name!!! You know where my love for cops prob first started?? with Blair from big brother..and he went onto neighbours and i thought he was the hottest cop! lol. *dreamy sigh*

yes! vegemite! die!! it just tastes odd and salty..that's all i can say to describe it!

vash dear, i hope you're doing alright *hugs* we're here to listen if you wanna talk (type?) or complain. especially since..well...i'm sure we've all been in situations similar to that *sigh*
and i agree, wear your lucky underwear more often! dont let the luck evaporate into the air!!

Vicluva
04-18-2005, 02:53 PM
I had to sing the national anthem every week in primary school but ever since high school started I don't recall ever singing it :glug: As for anyone who *wants* to know the second verse of the anthem, you can easily google it up.

Shay: LOL you are just desperate to pair vashy off with someone, aren't you? oh lord I hate Blair. I don't know why but he just bugs me, I think it's the mini goatee he's got, it confuses me so much, it's like an undergrown piece of chocolate or something and I just want to cut it off!!! :ranting:

Haha xiaoli at least Chief Wiggum is...cute. No I take that back. But urgh, compared to Nic Tse *shudder*

Aussie Aussie Aussie! OI! OI! OI!

*throws lamingtons and tim tams in the air and into our mouths*

Did u know Tim Tam's is no longer Australian.... its been sold off to America's Campell's (the one which makes all those condensed soups).......actually, the whole of Arnott's has been sold off. Well, i guess its part of globalistion.

like when i meet a dentist i'm like "hey, dentists tend to make a lot of money, and that would be good!"

Actually, dentists do not make that much money when they first graduate... unlike what is believed. For example, it is often quoted that dentist's starting salary are like 60,000 compared with accountants which are around the 30,000-40,000 mark  but have u actually thought about all the equipment that dentists have to buy (in comparison to accountants or lawyers)...like the sterilization centre, dental unit, foot controls, suction? and also the amount of public liability they have to pay each year (just in case they get sued) ? It's only after u have worked for a while...understand management and build a customer base then do u see dentists being so rich :D

Anyway...when u first start... u usually work for some dental surgery or at Sydney Dental Hospital (if ur in Sydney) in Surry Hills....actually the conditions are not bad....'cos for every 2 weeks you work u get an extra day off on top of the 2 days per week roster day off.

ker_ai_teresa
04-19-2005, 12:03 PM
but have u actually thought about all the equipment that dentists have to buy (in comparison to accountants or lawyers)...like the sterilization centre, dental unit, foot controls, suction?

Which they can claim on their tax.

Teacher's starting salary is 45K and that's if you're 4 year trained, if you're only 3 year trained you get considerably less.

Speaking of dentists, I visited one last week to get my teeth cleaned. I was forced to basically, coz I have to utilise the benefits from my private health insurance....or else you wouldn't catch me anywhere near a dentist's surgery.
anywayz, the amount of blood that came out of my mouth was freaky.

moral of the story? take care of your teeth! Brush, floss and listerine!

vashdestampede
04-20-2005, 10:31 AM
blood comes out when they clean it¿

hmmmm...when the dentist cleans mine.....it kinda tickles...
i don't understand why people are afraid of the dentist though...

i think those chairs are funky

ker_ai_teresa
04-20-2005, 11:45 AM
tickles? :glug:
I was seriously cursing him to the 8th dimension everytime that "iiiiiiizzzzzzzzz!!!" thing went between my teeth to get the tartar off...incidently I think parts of my gums were destroyed in the process too.

I had a very bad experience with a student dentist when I was a kid, and I've never really recovered.

hey! the new pope has been elected.

oh wellz.... :playball:

Shay
04-20-2005, 12:22 PM
lol yes. the pope. he's like 78 and totally orthodox... i thought they wouldda wanted to get a pope more liberal and..cooler. 78 is awfully old... and the news has been so boring and they just keep reporting stuff about him!! *yawns* there are reasons why i dont watch the news. Hey, what's happening to that Shapelle Corby girl so far?

vash must have good teeth, liking the dentist so much. I was a terrible kid and never brushed my teeth (i know, ewww) and i had to get all these teeth pulled out....

anyway, why i mentioned dentist was coz there was this guy......but anyway, i never see him anymore *sigh* but thanks sesame for kinda making me feel better. lol

hmmm and guys also have to confident! in the way they walk (good posture please!), talk etc. That's big for me...

vashdestampede
04-21-2005, 12:55 AM
haha shay...i have terrible posture...looks like you're gonna have to go after swee yee as you mentioned ^_^

Shay
04-21-2005, 03:36 PM
Grrr....you suck vash. i had a "Trip to Melb to stalk Vash and Elope With Him" fund started, but I guess u just had to go and ruin that :?
*empties out piggy bank*

u can improve your posture u know... ill show u a diagram of what our music teacher told us to do.

change yourself, for me!!!!

Yeh, so...that pope.

vashdestampede
04-22-2005, 12:21 AM
>.<

you can still use that fund to stalk jay you know...
cos he'll DEFINITELY come to melbourne before brisbane ^_^

xiaoli
04-22-2005, 05:52 AM
^ Accommodation will be free cuz she'll stay with you right? ;)

I don't mind going to the dentist.. the only thing I hate is the disgusting taste left in my mouth after they put that.. stuff.. on your teeth lol. He made you BLEED Teresa? You sure he's not another student dentist?!

lol, I'm not really interested in Pope news either. As for that Schapelle Corby woman, her prosecutors just demanded a life sentence. I can't help but believe she's innocent though..

aznsweet_sakura
04-22-2005, 08:17 AM
woooo!!!! new thread!!!!

aiya!!!! why dentists???? they are scary and they are lie too much well thats what my one did.....he said there wasnt going to be needles in myroot canal and eventually i had to be jabbed by one >.< hurt soo much....my poor gums have to go through soo much pain...
when the dentist washes my teeth the tooth paste tatses yuky...and then you get this blue stuff to rinse, which i think tastes nice...hehehe steal a whole bottle....

Shay: i have really bad posture according to the photographers for the school for the school photos...>.< but maybe i do slouch too much in my chair

i was slouching in my chair and got told off...she said" sit up staight!!ur not in bed!!!!now go do your work!!" she was reallyscary....

ker_ai_teresa
04-22-2005, 12:07 PM
As for that Schapelle Corby woman, her prosecutors just demanded a life sentence. I can't help but believe she's innocent though..

Same here.
I feel so sorry for her everytime I see footage of her being mobbed and crushed by all those reporters. It's ridiculous how they were even allowed to surround her like they did when she was inside the courtroom.

the recent arrest of another 9 aussie drug smugglers in Bali isn't of help either.

I was just flicking through the Chinese TV (TVBJ) and I saw Jay's music show on TV...its like clips of "The Incomparable Concert" but also behind the stage scenes!!!

Its on from 9-10pm today (on right now...but its the ad break).... so I wanted to post this msg.. then everybody would know.

Anyway, its on repeat at 4-5am AEST (ie. Sunday morning) TVBS Asia (press channel 6) ...hence, if u have missed it....then set ur recording timers on again...(like I have  )

Shay
04-23-2005, 03:49 PM
Yeh Schapelle Corby...was talking about this with my friends. I know she seems innocent to me..but then no one really knows hey. Of course i'm glad that she's not getting death penalty!! But her whole life is like....ruined! And she's like so young...it's just really really scary. And then these 9 drug trafficers....didnt a couple say that if they didnt do it then they'd kill their family??? They had the drugs strapped to their bodies!! Apparently it was the australian cops that tipped off the indonesian cops?? My friend got so angry coz u know, why couldnt they let them come back to australia then trial them under australian law..? Argh..i dunno, it's such a sticky issue :s

They have this thing now at airports and you can get your luggage...basically...glad wrapped. Hmmm think i wanna go to singapore and taiwan at end of the year...do i need to get my luggage glad-wrapped??? :glug:

Congrats on 2 years teresa!!!!

Winston
04-23-2005, 04:36 PM
I find it pretty damn stupid for those other aussies to smuggle drugs, didnt one of them say they didnt anticipate there would be the death penalty, like cmon grow a brain, either way if its not death penalty its life sentence, and furthermore, wasnt it stupid for them smuggle it the way they did? Isn't drugs some active item that's always being detected, gees.

Logic
04-24-2005, 04:22 PM
It's pretty scary going to asian countries now, u never know what those people in the airport can put in your luggages. I went to singapore and malaysia like just in Feb....now after hearing that story, lucky i've gone so don't have to go again!!

Ok so if someone puts it in your bag, how can you prove that it's not yours? But those blardy people had drugs strapped around themselves....how could it not be yours? They're just losers....

aznsweet_sakura
04-26-2005, 10:11 AM
hahaha yes it is scary to go to other countries...but they say some countries are worst than others. but come one drugs!!! in australia, australia has pretty high security, and lately they found heaps of ecstasy and stuff...

shay: hahaha i dont think you need your luggage glad wrapped, i mean i dont think they are really bad in those areas. i mean im going everseas soon yay!!! but my mum just said to stick close to your luggage...but wouldnt your luggage look a tad too funny???o.O

sesamestreet:i watched that too!!!! the thing is also on the dvd too...though i think they added some few bits to it. ive seen it before but i watched it again..hehehe i did allow anyone to change the channel..im soo mean >.<

Shay
04-26-2005, 10:21 AM
VASH SIT UP!

Hehehe

yeh Hayley, it's scary now huh?? death penalty...pretty harsh. But i suppose all countries have different values and of course drug smuggling is a pretty damn serious crime.

hey, happy (uhh...maybe not happy...??dont know what word to use...) ANZAC day yesterday! hope you all had a good day off...and erm..thought about the veterans, etc.

Queenslandies get labour day holiday next monday! yay!!! *am clueless about what labour day is about* but i absolutely adoreeeee long weekends.... mondays are so deadly!!

why do they say "dont wear white after labour day" in america?? what is labour day about??? ><

Haha sakura - yes...think i was being a tad paranoid hey?

Logic
04-26-2005, 11:41 AM
Nono....the problem of baggage may not be out at the airport, you could have workers snuggling them into your bags after you've checked in. Maybe the chances are low in aus cos of the security but on the other side, you never know who works for the airport!!! And you know.....developing countries...corruption and stuff like that. As long as you have a lock on your bag then it should be ok, cos atleast they would have to break it to put something in, takes time compared to those unlocked, can just open quickly and stuff things in. Get me?

04-26-2005, 12:01 PM

the vege and fruit healthy eating ads are crap though...and scary. a moving bicycle riding vegetable man???? *shudders*

aznsweet_sakura
04-29-2005, 10:26 AM
some ads are soo weird though...those 'quit' ads, i was watching like twenty for my health and foods lessen and there was one where before he goes in the house he takes a smoke. when he gets in he starts coughing really badly then some sort of organ comes out...very scary...i mean im scared ....

i think melbourne already had labor day....i cant remember ..well you cant exactly trust me to remember those stuff >.<

ROVE? I've seen him in real life ages ago when he came to Syd together with other oz tv stars for the arrival of Charlies Angel. ahhh he's really SHORT!!! But yeah he's pretty spunky too....though i don't think i'd like his personality. He's just funny on Rove Live.

My fav part on Rove Live is the "...What The....." !!

my goodness what was with Ian Thorpe's hair??? :glug:

and I must say, I'm SO glad Bec Cartwright didn't win the gold Logie. :-) Go Rove!

Shay
05-02-2005, 03:05 PM
haha i didnt even know logies was on til when i saw it. oh rove?? hmmmm he always wins. i duno if he deserves it but hey, who else is there to nominate! really!!!! i mean, even bec cartwright was nominated?!! for what? that home and away soapie??? *vomits* eugh....the lack of good aussie stars is sad *tear*

who else was nominated for gold logie??

rememer that chick...i dont remember her name, but she was.oh lisa mccune? and now she's doign coles ads! COLES!!!

hhaa and kim beazely (sp?) went to the logies too..that's funny! and kinda sad. but from what i saw, he was actually funny! i was really surprised.. ah well, trying to pull in the votes. as usual.

ew i think i saw thorpies hair like...on the news for his new perfume or something?? he's got the kinda "wet dog" look right??

ker_ai_teresa
05-02-2005, 03:32 PM
the hair was terrible! he dyed it dark, had an undercut, and it just looked like a wet mop on the top of his head and hanging at the back.

bec cartwright. I think what really boosted her popularity was Dancing with the Stars and perhaps getting engaged to llyton hewitt....don't really know how that can make you popular but anywayz....she was voted sexiest woman on FHM.... :glug:

the other nominees for the gold were...John Wood, one of the Mcleod's Daughters actresses, and Georgie Parker.
to be honest, Rove winning is better than Bec...at least he's funny.

Logic
05-03-2005, 12:22 AM
I only like bec cartwright's 4 carat tiffany ring :)
Apart from that...she's pretty normal....nothing special !!
I think Rove deserved to win...cos he does put alot of effort into his shows, i mean, try thinking of funny stuff to say for 1hr?

xiaoli
05-03-2005, 06:01 AM
Yeah I know, go Rove!! A year ago, no one gave a darn about Bec Cartwright and now she's Australia's favourite actress?! Please don't tell me she'll release another album because of her newfound popularity.

I've gotta say, she was FABULOUS on Dancing With The Stars though. She moved like a pro. So, she deserves full credit for winning that show.

Oh, and I reckon it was so cruel how they showed H&A footage of her from her on-screen wedding to NOAH while they were talking about Bec finding true love with Lleyton  Cuz Beau Brady was there!

Shay
05-04-2005, 01:39 PM
teresa... John wood? :glug: lol. oh i hate mcleods daughters *yawn* not very many quality australian shows out there are there!

Awww i've prob always said this but i remembered when the commonwealth games were held in bris..and the international swimmers came to our pool to swim. damnit the guys were so hot!!! >< Thorpie swam in our pool!!! lol
man, that thorpie is really milking every cent out of his fame huh? i mean...he has perfume now, and what else did he have b4? like clothes? or was it like..underwear *dont remember* well i suppose he's pretty smart to do that...he'll have a lot of money to retire on!!!! (hahhaa teresa, u sound so distraught)

Hahhaa that's pretty bad xiaoli! beau!! he was like such a hot shot back in the day!! i just remember he was like in ALL the magazines (well, he'd at least be in dolly and tv hits!!!) and i didnt even know who this guy was!!!!! (btw, is tv hits still on sale? i havent really seen them around. not that i've been looking.....)

what mags do u girls/guys usually read (if any?)? I'm more of a cosmo girl if i ever buy them...which is very very very rare since they're such a rip off!! and the're usually filled with a lot of junk anyway XD hahaha! but i gotta admit, they're a fun read! And i do like looking at some of the fashion stuff they have in there! the sealed section is a bit wierd of course.....

i was talking to a friend today..and can u believe that nikki webster is 18???!!!!! 18!!!! apparently she did a shoot in FHM (i didnt even know!) and she could only do it coz she was 18. 18!! that's crazy! it doesnt seem right!!!!

Can't believe Bec was voted best dressed by viewers. No offense to Lisa Ho who was the designer of the dress but it looked really really bad.. :S and Bec and Llyeton look like a weird couple but i still support him cause his from ADELAIDE! wOoohOoo!! ahahaha! anyway that was my two-cents worth. :)

I heard that the only reason Bec Cartwright won Best Dressed was because half the viewers didn't even know the names of some of the celebs that they had up on the screens during when they posted the voting details.

btw I got my drivers licence the other week...WHEE!!!!!!!!! New found freedom lol. But passing the test was a total fluke because I was speeding and I don't know whether the tester was blind or whether she just liked me a lot because that was meant to be an immediate fail =P

Congrats! And guess what? I got my driver's licence today! :excited: Yeah, I'm 19 and a half, aren't I slack? lol :D My test was actually supposed to be last Tuesday, but I wasn't allowed to do it because my aunt's car was deemed unroadworthy (one of the indicator lights was out and we didn't know). Sooo.. they made me re-book but it was booked out until June and I'm too impatient, so I had to go to the Burwood centre which seems to be quite free, probably cuz no one wants to go there since there's roadworks all over the place!! I was kinda worried I'd get an immediate fail cuz there are so many 40 zones there and my foot finds it hard to stay below 40. =/

Anyway no more relying on other ppl for lifts, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now.. I need a car.

and omg yeah, I can't believe Bec's pregnant already! 3 months apparently! Why would you decide to have a baby with someone you've been dating for 2 months!? WAAAAAAAAY too fast!

Oh and Big Brother? :thumbsdo:

Aww guys, sure driving is dangerous, scary...etc, but the freeeedom! and not having to keep renewing ur learner's licence is wonderrrful =) Saying that though, i'm the dodgiest driver....... terrible sense of direction too.... my poor bro's car hahaha. But i hate wasting an hour getting the bus when it takes like 15 minutes to drive somewhere!!! >< Especially since my family hates driving me places :`( I still have to get 2 buses to uni though.....1 hr.....*sigh*

BB is on! Hehe damn I missed it. Ill so get into it though - i mean, it's just fun isnt it? =P Gretel is getting so old though... =___= The makeup is no longer..uh..enough. Is she still with the lil boy Saxon?
Speaking of reality TV, brisbane lost in "my restaurant rules"!! You know, i dont even watch it but i saw that bit of it...and it was kind of sad. *tear* I always think about voting for those things, but i've never voted for any TV show before... Maybe once i called "Wheel of Fortune" when i was younger coz I knew what the answer or something was (it was "show me the money"! hahaha) and i wanted a prize. Never got it though *tear*

yehh Bec Cartwright!!!!! My friend thought it was all a stunt so they both would get more famous and popular (which they have become..) but now she's like...pregnant :glug: So erm...it all seems very fast....

Big bro is so funny! I wonder when the twins will be caught out? I mean, wouldn't you be able to tell the difference? They just swapped, imagine being someone and going into a totally new environment and have to pretend that you've been there......i'd get real nervous. I think one of them has bigger muscles than the other, they should wear lose tops or something....

I like big brother.... for some reason been really wanting to watch it. I suppose that says something about my life at the moment =_=

Would u guys ever try out for big brother? Eugh well, i wouldnt. obviously because of the whole showering/toileting thing...and a million other things that could happen that could be bad bad embarrasing for me and my family, and just missing civilisation. i think i'd go crazy (which actually would be interesting to watch -_- )
And on that note would you guys ever try out for any other reality shows?? like those singing ones...or...survivor type shows. or restaurant rules? haha

So scary...a taiwanese girl around my age who lives around my area got arrested last week for drug dealing.... o.O (well she sells them apparently so that's drug dealing right?) Her family's known in the asian community...her grandma advertises for this asian community retirement place! Apparently, im not sure if it part of the rumour mill but it's in the papers, she's in the same group thing as the bali 9?? >.<

EDIT: yes..it was. found an article: http://www.thecouriermail.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,15201621%255E3102,00.html (only mentions her as 19 yr old girl)

BB's more interesting this year, at least there's something to watch on the uplate segments now.

If I could take part in a reality show, it'll probably be the Amazing Race. But too bad it's only open to Americans and they said the concept wasn't going to go worldwide so it means I have zero chance of being able to compete.

BB is alright though not the best show......the girls sem a bit up themselves though i guess there has to be something interesting to watch....

Shay; a drug dealer in your street??? thats a bit scary...astleast she didnt sell you any...

come to think of it...there has been a lot on drugs and finding them.....weird....like how they found soo much ecstasy and stuff....>.<
Melbournes already gone>.< i wanted to go and try their food....it seemed like a good place anyway...i could've voted but you know...i cant be bothered...

Melbournians....i think Initial D the movie will hit china town cinemas...like somewhere in july...Batman (my friend) emailed themm and they said, that they will probably show it....how exciting...oh and my brother said it aswel....coz he passes the city like evryday of his life.

hey, just on the short topic that some of you's mentioned about getting your licences...how old do you have to be to get your licences?? i heard that its different in every state. well in the NT, you have to be atleast 16 before you go for your learners permit. im going for my provisional licence next week! cant wait! too bad if i fail tho!!! lol.
so how many of you's have your licences already???

Although they say it's 15 n 9 months to take your L's down here in sydney, they actually won't let you till you're 16. Hope to take mine next week sometime. Turning 16 next tuesday.

Shay

Ermmm not sure, for Brisvegas, think it's 16 and a half for your L's and then like...six months after you get ur Ls before you can go for your Ps. It's funny when u go to Syd or Melb (not sure if they do anywhere else) and you see P plates on kid's cars. No one here uses P plates!! But it's probably better and safer of course to have that warning for other drivers!
It was so scary - Last weekend, I think 6 people died on brisbane roads... =S One was on a main road near my house. It's always so sad when u see flowers next to the road... for some reason I just burst into tears when I drove by them.
Anyway *ahem* I don't mean to scare u all, but just really be careful on the roads!!! And watch out for bad drivers...!!! I know it's like...we're young, immortal and everything, but I know there have been times when I have (and quite a few of my friends have) been like "if I had done this a bit earlier/later...something serious would have happened".

Just to lighten things up..*ahem*... yes! Jay! I seriously don't know what he'll do about his next world tour....I mean, I definitely think he'll do pretty well in Australia! I mean, I'd definitely (and I'm sure a lot of Brisbanites would) go down to Sydney for a concert! Well, I'm guessing it'll be in sydney...and obviously not bris.

And BB, yeh Blackie, I really dislike the girls that just think they're everything! They think they're so smart and pretty etc...it's just gross. Gianna (i think thats her name) really pisses me off too - she's always dancing around and looking at herself in the mirror.....! Those are the type of girls that I just can't stand...!!

In Melbourne, you have to be 16 before you can get your learners permit and 18 before you can get your probationary licence. And you have to have had your L's for at least 6 mths here as well. After 3 years with your P's, you become full licenced!

I really really want to buy a car in the next few months. So much more convenient and I'm sick of taking hour long bus rides when it only takes 15 mins to get somewhere! What do you guys drive? My budget is only like 5 grand though!

Haven't been watching BB but I did watch the opening night just to check out the people. The identical twin twist thing is actually pretty interesting!

And heya superstarz!

Did you know that you only have to be 14 to get your licence in Hawaii? Just thought I'll fill your heads with useless info =P

Public transport does suck doesn't it? And here we are encouraging everyone to help reduce greenhouse emissions by taking public transport.

I'm currently using my brother's car which will eventually be mine anyway. It's a Hyundai Excel named Blue Ben (yep my bro gave it a name), it sucks though because it's a hand-me-down-hand-me-down. So it's really a third-hand car, my brother has kinda mutulated it, the dashboard is cracked and the central locking doesn't even work anymore.

My friend bought a Mitsubishi Magna for 4 grand, but after half a year it started to rust on the inside and cost her nearly a grand to fix. Now she's realised why she got it for so cheap.

The twins got busted in BB, did anyone watch? I wonder what happens now, do both of them get evicted?

Oh and Random won the X factor, I was a little suprised. I thought Russel would've won considering he's more "Australian" than Random. But Random is pretty good, since Joe chose them to be his support act when he performed in Melbourne the other night.

I heard Xfactor wasnt very popular, like apparently the SBS or ABC (i forgot which) outrated it... I just don't understand why, just when xfactor finishes, they put on australian idol. I think it really takes away the appeal of those shows because they're just not that special anymore!! And Casey Donavon (sp?), the winner of the last Aus Idol - I mean, where is she now????!!

but ah well, big brother is bringing channel 10 back up on the ratings...seriously!

hey superstarz, what did u expect that you could do in Sydney? :p I dunno if I'd come to Australia to shop...(I'd go to Asia to shop!) but there's a lot of touristy stuff to do I'm sure... so what do people think about the sentence Schapelle Corby got?

I think it totally sucks. Guilty or not guilty (though personally I don't think she is) 20 years is hell!
Considering that the SAME head judge gave the Bali bombers who murdered so many people, only 2 years behind bars! What a perverse justice system!

cinsin
05-30-2005, 05:09 AM
I was watching her story on 60 minutes and they said if she appeals she may end up with a heavier sentence or even the death sentence.

For some reason I don't think she's guilty either...but 20 years in a Bali jail will be hell, such horrible conditions! I reackon she'll end up dying from some disease in the jail before she even finishes her sentence.

xiaoli
05-30-2005, 07:49 AM
Considering that the SAME head judge gave the Bali bombers who murdered so many people, only 2 years behind bars!

What the hell?! I didn't even know that! That makes it so much worse!

I feel so sorry for her.. either she's innocent or she's a damn good actress.

If you were in her position, would you go for the appeal? I'd take my chances. Honestly, I don't know how I'd be able to face life behind bars anyway.. and if it was for something I didn't do.. that makes it even harder.

aznsweet_sakura
06-01-2005, 10:35 AM
the indonesian courst arent very fair.....as you were saying those bomber got two years and she got freakin 20 YRS!!!!
even if she did get an appeal its probably likely that the indonesian courts arent even going to take it seriously, if they didnt consider that those bomber got 2 years and she got 20....

i feel really sorry for her...though my cousins freinds said that she is known in indonesia as a well known drug lord...though i dont know which one to believe innocent or not...
besides whos going to beleive her in indonesia, they already said that the indonesian dont really care and act as if nothing happenes...

Logic
06-02-2005, 11:47 AM
I'd take that risk and appeal too! How is she going to survive life behind prison bars IN BALI~! Aparently the conditions is horrible to start off with, just life on the streets in general. It's not like aus, clean environment so could you imagine the cells there??

Though....i have another doubt, what happens if she ends up getting a death sentence? OK ppl would think dying is much better than living in there for 20 years but this is not easy death. They blind fold you and shoot!! Not the injection kind of way...arggh i don't even wanna imagine getting shot at!!

so this theme week? lol. i go away, come back..and uh.... we can do it later i suppose...!!

oh cindy, aus idol is kinda getting crap i think =( try out for big brother next time, it's always a pretty popular show! i'm sure we wouldnt mind seeing you shower :D hahaha

EDIT: Oops I wanted to say something about Corby too. it was so sad...20 years in jail. i know what you mean xiaoli, she's either a really good actress or she's innocent. everyone's saying it's all unfair and everything, and i think it is too...but i think that the news here is very biased. obviously. And do u hear now how so many people are like, saying that they're never going to Indonesia again, etc...? i mean, i think that's a bit crazy. you cant blame an entire country just coz of the judicial system that they have. What I think will be sad though, is that in a while, after the media stop covering it, we'll all forget about her but her and her family willl still be in the same situation. And I dont think that the airports are really doing enough to make sure things like this don't happen.

Anyway, sorry about the incoherent writing, and on a lighter note, has anyone seen the 60 minutes ad?? Peter Overton interviews tom cruise...and i think cruisey was being a bit of a bitch or something. I'd seen it before circulating the net but it was nice to see again cuz it's SO CUTE! there's this dog who sees his "gf" getting it on with some other dog and he tries to commit suicide by running in front of the oncoming traffic, but the car comes to a screeching halt before it runs over the dog.. and the ad ends with "[insert tyre brand here]: Saving Lives" aww I love that ad lol :D

yeah with Russel Crowe apparently it was also the fact that his new movie "Cinderella Man" did heaps crap in the US box office and he'd put so much effort into it..so i guess it was a mixture of bad things.

Did anyone watch that interview that Peter Overton did on Tom Cruise last weekend on 60 Minutes? No offense but Tom was so rude! when Peter asked him a lil about his personal life he just went crazy and he was like" Your being rude Peter and i don't want you to do that! your stepping over the line.." But he's so hypocritical cause yesterday's Oprah Show showed Tom like jumping up and down acting absolutely crazy and revealing absolutely everything to the media about his Love life.. eeek....marrying tom cruise??? not for me!!! but dont they have a pretty big age different..like he is 40 something and she 20 something?? it reminds me of the demi moore and ashton kutcher relationship..hmm....

but yes nick carter was cute when it was like 1997....man that was ages ago...

Shay
06-10-2005, 03:51 PM
vashy. i didnt see you as someone who would like pretty boys. nick carter? hmmm i guess i thought of u more as someone who would fall for the bad boys :p

hey, those that watch big brother. dean is sooo robbie williams. and has anyone seen charlies angel: full throttle?? the seamus guy that drew's character used to date is soooooo robbie williams too. yes. useless info/observations. i know. but they're all so hot *fans self*

Hmm i didnt realise that cinderella man did so badly? i thought it would be one of those hollywood movies everyone would see?? i mean, it's ron howard and that other guy (cant think of his name at the moment)!

haha i saw the tom cruise interview. he really was a bit of a bastard. totally different to what i've seen him like, with his cheesy grin on oprah. i havent seen the new oprah but i've seen him on oprah before and damnittt does the crowd piss me off. they think they can scream any louder??!! but with the interview i guess, from what u said cloudy, that peter overton is biased. well, i think a lot of australians would be anyway, nicole being our darling and all. :p well, at least nicole has more range of acting and *ahem* TALENT than tom cruise. cmon, seriously. tom cruise. acting? i'm so annoyed that lil dakota fanning likes him apparently.

Omg omg omg! i'm reaching 600....must. think. of. something. good. to. post. for. my. 600th. *thinks really hard*

EDIT:
AND...i didnt dream of marrying tom cruise when i was younger...o.O he was..married already. right? katie holmes will be his third anyway

cinsin
06-10-2005, 04:09 PM
You better post about me Shay, for your 600th post...about how much you adore me LOL

Who was Tom cruise married to? I don't ever remember him being married to anyone apart from Nicole Kidman.

Hehe I've never even heard of the movie Cinderella Man, maybe that's why it did so bad, lack of advertising?

Oooh speaking of Nick Carter, Backstreet Boys are going to be on Rove...whee!! Can't wait.

must be all those m&m's
i'd just start scoffing them down...seriously

xiaoli
06-12-2005, 07:45 AM
Maybe cuz Rove is the only decent variety & entertainment show we have in Aus?

omg, BSB are gonna be on Rove this coming Tuesday? yay! I love their latest song :) oOOooOOOooo vashy 4 nicky!!

Tom Cruise was married to someone called Mimi Rogers waayyy back in the 80's.. long time ago, obviously, since he was married to Nicole for 10 years... I always hoped Tom & Nic would get back together >< Damn Katie! lol and Nicole's dating that jackass scumbag who ditched Liz Hurley while she was pregnant!

OH, AND CLOUDY!!!! Where have you been!?

cloUdsuRFer
06-12-2005, 09:43 AM
i'd like tom cruise if he carried me around all the time, so i guess you can't blame dakota fanning :P! =)

BSB!?!?! on rove!! yay.....^_^ i gotta catch that show then....

blah...i also hoped tom and nic would get back together....but now i think she's waaay better off without him =P. but then again...what would i kno?? ^^

xiaoli> i'm back sorta...see its exam time....and i'm procrastinating....so i'm on the net of course....and i think i like being back...

man...this thread is THE definition of lazy >.<
we're so lazy we don't even post...=_="

good job!Haha Vashy. Yeh, we are definitely very lazy people, but it's in our nature right? It's the Aussie disease. Once you land in Australia, you automatically become very lazy and complacent about everything. We just cant be bothered getting off our ass unless it is absolutely necessary. That's why I was very pleased to see all the hot Aussie banners!! :D hehe. Nice turnout!! I figure if I don't have expectations, then I will not be disappointed.

Togepi43, this thread is just a place for people to get to know each other. You can talk about anything that interests you. Haha for a moment I thought you meant that Jay was YOUR fav artist :p But I guess you really like this guy? I liked him for a while before I found this site. (thru google lol) Anyway, tell us a bit about yourself? (ie where'd u get ur name! )

We could make a game out of this...lol

Hi Spax ^_^ You're very welcome to join in on the erms...non-existent conversation that's going on in here haha.

edit: I went to go see how we faired against the other country forums in terms of threads and posts and OMG we ARE lazy. Malaysia has 30 threads and has over 3,000 posts compared to our 28 threads and measly 1,600 posts. I also wonder how the Singaporeans can post so much...

spax
07-04-2005, 05:01 PM
Talking about laziness!!! Haha!! =D

I wonder why Australians tend to be lazy, as some of you guys said.. Is that one of the so called "culture" in Australia?? And also, lazy in what way??

I'm lazy too..:P Well, I just feel like putting my homework aside and surf JCNET the whole day....lol...

Mmm all this bbq talk is making me hungry *licks lips* BUt somehow I dont think vashy would taste that nice....

Aussies are really laid-back....u can apparently tell just by how much slower we walk compared to like...new yorkers?

Hehe Togepi43, bless google!! I didnt realise togepi was a pokemon.... Mmm if you were into it, you must be like...pretty young right? Coz my cousin was heaps into it as well...why? I never understood.
hehe we have this lil pokemon thing in the chatroom. Cindy (cinsin) is noopy. She owns me
(Wow, writing it out like this here makes it sound a bit dumb huh.)

Speaking of learning chinese...my aunty was saying she could teach me to write it...(coz i'm utterly crappy at writing chinese) And I was joking about how you can't hit children here in Australia. But then I was talking to my brother and he was saying something about how scary she is when she teaches...though on the upside, he still remembers everything she taught him.. o__o

i wanna write chinese good.

P.S. No i havent seen Initial D...not showing here. And i'm too lazy to download it. I'm thinking i might just wait for it to come out on dvd or something....You reckon it'll be out by december? coz i'll be going to TW then...

xiaoli
07-07-2005, 09:28 AM
Yeah I reckon it'll out by December, especially since it's Asia! Taiwan? Aw I'm so jealous Shay! BTW love your banner moite

hey Togepi, welcome to JCNET and Jay Chou fandom, lol hope to see ya round for good :)

oh yeah I've seen Initial D.. what a fab perve fest. And I've never seen sooooo many people at Chinatown cinemas before, they seriously scored with this movie! haha

I'm young but not THAT young (ie. i'm at uni :S i KNEW i should've picked a different nickname!!) wow InitialD isnt' out in brissy? ah well, hope the dvd will be out in dec then! awesome that ur going to taiwan hehe

Good luck with learning written Chinese! So I guess you can speak pretty well huh? Lucky you, shouldnt' be too hard to pick up writing hopefully! I'm definitely better at writing than speaking.. for me, writing just comes faster for some reason.. and I have a terrible accent!!

And "vashdestampede" is VERY funny to say out loud in a hurry!! =p

Shay
07-08-2005, 01:20 PM
Hehe i love it that you've decided to join us Xiaoli!! You know, looking at your banner, I'm reminded of that "Bloke" song! I heard it today on the radio, like the first time in AGES. It's sung by Chris Franklin or something? I don't remember the singers name, but it's got the tune of another song but with different (hilarious) words. Something like:
"I'm a bloke, I'm a yobbo
and me best mate's name is Robbo
*something something*
I dress in flanelette
Wear a singlet that is blue
Throw in a few tattoos
You know you wouldnt want me any other way"

Haha it's like the most hilarious song ever. I must download it! lol

Hey I guess you Melbournians never ended meeting up hey? Aw, that's sad. Just think though, in the squishiness of the cinema, vashy may have accidentally bumped into xiaoli who may have been sitting in front of cindy in the movie! *sigh* The wonders of the imagination...

Hehe Topegie, I'm at uni too.. Ok, I guess you cant be that young then. It's weird to think that the pokemon craze was so long ago then!! I swear it was just yesterday people were obsessed...with those pokemon cards. And that movie. *shudder* I think I saw the cartoon a couple of times. Really didnt understand the obsession o___o

I guess I read chinese better than I write it coz I've grown up reading my brother's comics and stuff. Hopeless at writing. Honestly. Hopeless. Why are there so many strokes!

Teresa... I concede defeat
Queensland played so bad... How the hell did we win that first game???!!

That's why some things should be left in the chatroom
I'm better at reading Chinese than writing as well ^^ I taught myself to read Chinese from watching TVB dramas with the subtitles lol Good luck with the writing though...that way you can teach me when you come visit :D

Haha Togepi I didn't realise your nick was a pokemon...I kept reading it as Topegi >.< And I see that Shay did the same thing.
Hehe Topegie, I'm at uni too..

Oh yes what a shame it was Vashy, but everyone looked the same to me when I went to go see it. All the guys had the same hair and pretty much every girl looked the same. I wouldn't have recognised you guys anyway. Too bad Yue still hasn't seen it =(

Wow that's the most smilies I've ever used in one post >.< must stop using smilies...

xiaoli
07-08-2005, 04:00 PM
Aww.. I was hoping you guys wouldn't notice my lateness :shy: lol well to make up for it I'm going to keep this set for another week. haha. Also, my comp drives me crazy cuz it's wacked and I'm too lazy to make another set.

Ooh yeah I know that Bloke song haha.. it came out like during primary school or early high school! ahh so long ago! It goes to the tune of Meredith Brook's "Bitch"

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover,
I'm a child, I'm a mother,
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I'm an angel undercover
blah blah something along those lines!

When did you Melbos go see Initial D? I went to watch it last Monday, 9:45pm session!

Yeah what happened to the meetup ay? Vash, you suggested it so you should've organised it! lol *poke* (I hate organising things)

I'm better at reading Chinese than writing too, but isn't everybody? Recognition is WAY easier than recollection!

Vashie, that's...a...great...excuse. Not that you're at fault. ALL you melbournians are at fault in my eyes!! Muhahaha :whip:

Cindy, I saw ur avie and I was like counter strike? why?? *sigh* silly me huh? Unless it IS counter strike. Then not silly me. Smart me! Anyway, good luck for starting your course!!!

Hope you did okay Winston! I got my results last week and the relief is incredible!! Good luck!

Haha sorry for calling you Togepi when your name was so OBVIOUSLY Togepi.... I never really watched pokemon  Sorry! Slap me!

hmmm ONE smilie I'm trying hard to never use (again) is ^^

It annoys me so much

Eugh. It's so...disgusting! I feel so dirty!

Anyway, theme week was wonderful thanks to you all! I had heaps of fun though I didnt do much spreading of the Aussie word. But we made banners and that's more than what you can expect from bludgers!! :D We'll do it again sometime! *hugs*

Hehe Shay, it's not counterstrike >.< it's my nick's initials...cinsin =P It was just something random I did on PSP when I was waiting for my IE to update...which never did >=(

I actually don't like that smilie either or this one ^_^ but then I thought it was cute and started to use it hehe.

I'm sure they'll bit a lot more Jay movies for us to have a meetup...like the sequel of Initial D, so we can organise a meetup in about two years time. Should we start planning now just so that we'll end up doing it?

Shay

RIDICULOUS!

I met my QLD'rs and sure, they don't frequent JCN anymore (maybe coz I scared them off...lol) but it was heaps fun!

cinsin
07-17-2005, 10:58 AM
Aww...Shay, maybe next time we can just have a bogan theme week lol That way you can have you bogan banner up again ^_^

Wow people actually like Leo Ku? :? He's that guy that sings that song with the lyrics that go something like this...
I'd rather be a dog, a cat than be a lover... right? (hehe such crappy translation >.<)

Hmm...just something random I've noticed.
All the Melburnians who frequent in this thread happen to be in different usergroups.
Yue - KANR

Vashy - WMZY

i was walking arounf in melbourne city china town, and there does seem to be quite a few leo ku posters up, though im not a big fan of him, but if i did ahve a chance to go to one of his concerts i would. but there are still pretty old posters of twins concerts and kelly chan ones.

Yay LQP and their cannibalism! All QLD'rs are in LQP. Unlike those melbournians, we stick together!

Hmm...Us Melburnians can't stick together because well...we're not *cough*evil*cough* like the LQPers. Have you noticed that no Melburnians are in LQP?

I'm freaking out because I haven't been listening in class and I have tests next week >.< I'm also so poor that I've resorted to buying seond-hand books...just imagine all the germs that's going to be living in them.

Hey sure a melbournian is in LQP- well....errr.... so I wasnt born there and i dont live there but my auntie does so that makes me an honorary Melbournian right?
My point is that Melbourne is evil too!!!! or could be corrupted... ooh that gives me ideas!
By the way, hey guys... long time no see! Go AUZZIE!

cinsin
07-27-2005, 11:38 AM
But...but everyone else in my class has NEW textbooks. I can just imagine them laughing at me when I pull out my icky textbooks >.< Wait... that could just be a dream of mine :P

Hiya Leise! Erm...I think Vashy is the only corrupt Melburnian, he has great intentions to join your "clan". But anyways it's great that you're back, another Aussie to spread the ockerness around.

vashdestampede
07-28-2005, 09:41 AM
whoa whoa whoa!!!
i'm not corrupt!!!
i'm morally upstanding and hold the fibre that defines the spirit of melbournians...
and other stuff too!!!
and i like WMZY
WMZY rox your sox

long time no see leise!!
looks like you've paused in your attempts to take over the world temporarily ^_^

haha cindy...they'll be thinking "damn...if i bought second hand...could have saved so much money >.<"

cinsin
07-28-2005, 10:20 AM
Pfft you call yourself a Melburnian and you can't even spell it right. I don't understand why people have to add the 'o' all the time >_<

I also see that joining WMZY has made you forget how to spell --->"WMZY rox your sox"

stargirl
07-28-2005, 01:21 PM
Cindy, i bet that if you rock up to class with dodgy old textbooks and a self confident strut everyone else will be like ooooh look at her, it must be cool to be poor!... or mayve they will just laugh...whatever! (no im kidding, why do you care what other people think anyway?)
Oh but if you do get second hand textbooks and any of them have writing in them make sure that the person who owned it wasnt named Half-Blood-Prince or anything like that, better to be safe than sorry yeah?

vashdestampede
07-29-2005, 04:44 AM
it looks weird without the o
most of my spelling and grammar is based on
"it looks wrong" and then i know it's wrong or
"it sounds wrong" then it's wrong...

other than that i really don't care

cinsin

But when it's spelt with the 'o' it sounds as though an American is pronouncing it...Mel-BORN-ni-an >.< Sorry, I'm going to keep bugging you until you spell it right.

Don't worry Leise, none of my second-hand books have any writing in it. I wish it did though. I always left writing in my old textbooks to help people, no...actually it was filled with rude drawings lol But hey, I'm sure it provided them with entertainment.

Ooh what did you guys think of the Leyton and Bec wedding? Or did you guys not care?

vashdestampede
07-29-2005, 10:29 AM
who¿
oh...those two
i thought it was funny the media was stalking them via helicopter

well...if americans wanna pronounce it like that
we'll just attack them with our military kangaroos

aznsweet_sakura
07-29-2005, 10:35 AM
those two newly weds? hmmm i still dont like leyton and his oily hair...yuk!!! but otherwise...good for them.

its not that bad having second hand books...i mean i use my sisters....but i feel sorry for the people who get mine...i mean mine are filled with all sorts of stuff...but not dirty stuff =_="

xiaoli
07-29-2005, 03:54 PM
Nah, I still prefer Bec & Beau! BOOOO LLEYTON! I don't like Australia's so-called "golden couple".. now if only Ian Thorpe and Delta Goodrem would get together and rain on their parade! lol

Why discriminate against 2nd hand books huh? HUH? haha.. I always try to get my books 2nd hand cuz textbooks are a bloody rip off. Dammit I never get round to selling them though.. so I still have my books from high school >_<

Melburnian, Melbournian, toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe! lol.. but yeah I think I'd have to go with Melbournians.. cuz even though Melbourne has an "o" it's not like WE pronounce it as Mel-Born!

vashdestampede
07-30-2005, 01:42 PM
hehe...po-tar-to
the thing that really peeves me
is how americans take a whole syllable out of aluminium
and while i'm on the subject of bagging americans
how can they like steve irwin¿

aznsweet_sakura
07-31-2005, 02:49 AM
americans probably like him soo much coz he seems to be raised by a kang-r-oo and therefore he looks like one crossed with a toad....i dont like him very much...what idiot would stick his own son near a fat croc in the first place?
and it seems like my relatives over there like him a lot...so i wont bag him sooo much like i usually would...but they think that we aussies live in kangaroo pouches...hehehehehe funny...

cinsin
07-31-2005, 05:04 AM
lol But the correct spelling is Melburnian >.< MELBURNIAN!!! DAMNIT!!! I'm never going to let it go, unless you guys start spelling it right...

Do Americans really like Steve Irwin? :? Well I guess he's the new generation Paul Hogan and that's why people like him. And he IS married to an American.

Shay
07-31-2005, 08:57 AM
What? Melbournian did u say cindy? Melbournian melbournian melbournian melbournian melbournian...Melbournian!

Lleyton and Bec... There's something really fishy about that relationship. Seems a bit fake and set up? Some kind of celebrity set-up? I mean, seriously, those 2 have never been more popular than they are now! lol I wont let that theory go...

Second hand is awesome! I agree with Leise, if you have the right attitude and strutting style, I bet everyone will be looking to get second hand or at least spilling food/drinks on their books so they look second hand. You know what's gross? When u read a library book and it's got a squished lil bug in it... Disgusting...

I had second hand english and maths books from my brothers... hella better than paying for new ones! >.< And u feel way less guilty too when you havent used them lol. I just don't buy textbooks anymore... Meaning I hang out in the library more, and always put holds on multitudes of textbooks lol *puts on nerdy glasses*

vashdestampede
08-01-2005, 11:19 AM
actually
i don't think anyone would care that you have second hand books
i reckon...at my uni
i'd bag a friend if they bought a book for new

cinsin
08-01-2005, 01:47 PM
So you're trying to say that Bec and Lleyton went all out to get pregnant and married for publicity? Haha I wouldn't be that stupid to fall pregnant to Lleyton...just imagine him in the labour room. C'MON! :p

Btw, how's your work placement going Shay? I keep forgetting to ask >.< Having fun? Learning lots? Met any cute doctors that you wish to introduce to me?

*cough*MELBURNIAN*cough* Get it right!

08-02-2005, 02:03 PM
Hey guys, want to ask for your opinion, i just read that this korean star Kwong Sang Woo from the tv series "stairway to heaven" is coming to Sydney around 6th August, maybe this saturday!! Should i bother to attempt to sneak around Sydney Airport? I really like him.....

vashdestampede
08-03-2005, 09:42 AM
yup...and if nobody else goes
you can have him ALL to yourself!!!
and then...you might even end up on the news
and after that...get in a relationship
and marry him

and think back "man...if i didn't go to the airport to meet him, i would've never married him"
and...when you're on a trip to melbourne
bring some krispy kremes down please ^_^

good luck and invite me to the wedding!!!

xiaoli
08-03-2005, 10:56 AM
Well eh personally even if I read that Jay might be coming I wouldn't be bothered going to the airport cuz 1) too damn far and 2) it's just a rumour and I don't wanna waste a day twiddling my thumbs waiting 3) I don't think any of my friends would be interested in stalking him with me :D

But don't mind me, THINK POSITIVE LIKE VASH!

Hey, when's Melbourne getting Krispy Kremes?! I heard a while ago that they were building the first store at Fountain Gate.. what's going on? I wannaaaa tryyy!

ker_ai_teresa
08-03-2005, 12:51 PM
krispy kremes is over-rated I think. my friends kept raving on about it, saying it's the best doughnut ever and how it "melts" in your mouth, and blah, blah, blah. when I finally tasted one I was like, "meh." all it is, is doughnut coated with a very thin layer of icing sugar. what's the big deal? so the dough is extra soft...but I can't see what the fuss is about. PLUS, it's more fattening than the regular ones! ><
but I suppose you gotta try it and then judge for yourself.

vashdestampede
08-04-2005, 02:33 AM
oh...the website said they're not considering fountain gate anymore
but they're thinking of making one at melbourne central in the city ^_^

krispy kremes -> heart attack with a hole yeah¿

cinsin
08-04-2005, 03:11 AM
Are you serious? They're not making a store in Fountain Gate anymore? But their distribution centre's going to be in Dandenong...aww...damn I was going to go get a job there as well, since it's within walking distance from my house.

But yeah Krispy Kremes is kinda over-rated. I never knew you could put so much sugar on a piece of dough before.

Btw, if you've lost something on the train, how likely do you think it'll be returned to you?

Shay
08-04-2005, 09:28 AM
Prob best to call train's lost and found i reckon cindy. That's what I did when i lost my wallet. Bad side of that story is that I never found it..but they should have a lost and found for melb train service! Probably a few actually...? But then, that depends on how kind the person who picked it up is... Generally there's nothing that they wanna do with ur cards anyway. :/ Good luck cindy! Tell us if you've been identity thefted :p

No cute doctors. :( No guys really around the hosptial that are cute at all. Otherwise, placement is going well. Learning lots... get a bit frustrated with myself though, not being able to do things and say things as well as they do. Anyway... Ive got another formal supervision session tomoro where we go thru everything that's been going on and my progress...and hopefully it's better than last week! lol >< I've got a half way assessment too..which will be scary. I have to fill out how i think i'm going first on all these criteria then show/discuss it with them. Weird...I hate rating myself on anything! ><

Never really had Krispy Kremes before... Someone was telling us to go have some when we were in sydney but...meh. Heaps of other food satisfy me enough really! But if i ever go to sydney again, i'll have a lookie and a tastie.

Go for it logic! No regrets! you never ever know if you never ever go! :p

vashdestampede
08-04-2005, 10:14 AM
yeah...if you ring the flinders st station
they have items that have been handed in from commuters
you just have to describe it enough so they know it's yours

cinsin
08-04-2005, 10:25 AM
How do you describe a textbook? o_O Umm...it's orange and has pages in it >.<

I rang up lost property, but they said they haven't got my textbook, they didn't ask me to describe it or anything. Is lost property just that Flinders St station thing or is it something completely different?

I can't believe I was dissing second hand textbooks and then I lose it ><

I'm glad you're enjoying your work placement Shay, too bad about there not being any hot guys...you must've got the dud hospital :p

vashdestampede
08-05-2005, 11:33 AM
maybe she's got the hospital that treats sick patients instead of having hot doctors standing around...treating sick patients

Shay
08-05-2005, 02:22 PM
Actually..there have been 2 cute guys (i wouldnt say hot) that were my superviser's clients in the hand clinic. I only observe in there coz hands isnt part of my caseload, but anyway...it's funny coz u get to see how old they are and their address. And then this guy was talking about going night clubbing and i'm thinking "where?" Anyway, one guy was like..younger than me which was wrong, but one guy was round my age. Cute hair but last time he came in he looked so tired and dopey I was wondering if he was like....hungover...or on drugs or something. Well, it's absolutely wrong to think about clients like that so maybe I should stop there.

No fantasy revelations for you guys! ><

How do you describe a textbook Cindy? Uhh...TITLE mainly. And size, colour, thickness... >< GOOD LUCK!

vashdestampede
08-06-2005, 03:30 AM
hmmm..hand clinic
i wonder what he did to injure his hand...

Shay
08-06-2005, 05:20 AM
.....what do u mean. i hope you're not being dirty.

one of them was rollerblading tricks
the other was... i dunno. somehow cut his tendons.

there was this other one that got bitten by his cat and it got infected etc..and doctors had to wash the wound out (OUCHIE). anyway, the cat got "sent on a long holiday" ;___;
the cat only bit him coz he tried to throw it out (physically). but then i suppose it was peeing on the carpet. argh. i dont know. still dont deserve death ;_;

adnam8
08-06-2005, 09:05 AM
I left my phone on the train once. I called it up and the person who had it told me to meet them at a station. So surprised that I managed to get it back! Good luck with the textbook. I don't see what a commuter would do with a textbook. Unless you were so unlucky that it was the textbook they needed...

When I read "hand clinic" i was a bit confused by that... kinda towards the lines that vash were trying to hint to..

vashdestampede
08-06-2005, 10:23 AM
oh...no
one of my friend's assignment partner had the tendons in his hand slashed...and they retracted halfway up his arm...and he has these huge scar marks where they went looking for the tendon...
i was just wondering if it was the same thing

cinsin
08-07-2005, 04:03 AM
Aww...poor cat ;_; I love cats, why couldn't it be a dog that went on a "long holiday" =( *mutters*stupid dogs...good for nothing pieces of...*end of muttering*

Is there like a rule where you can't date your clients or something? :?

vashdestampede
08-07-2005, 06:26 AM
yes...
you're suppose to maintain a professional relationship with your clients

Shay
08-07-2005, 08:23 AM
Hahaha yeh there is a code of ethics of occupational therapy...

Apparently you cant even be friends with someone who's been ur client coz there's an imbalance of power... You've treated them before so apparently you've got more power in the relationship. I mean, unless you refer them onto someone else or it's been quite a while since your professional relationship terminated, you cant even be their friend. ;_;

Dogs rule!!!

Did you get your txtbook cindy?

cinsin
08-12-2005, 07:35 AM
Aiyo...it's so quiet in here.

Are we getting lazy again?

Did you guys hear about John Howard receiving that award for helping with fighting terrorism or something? Hehe I thought it was a joke when I read it in the newspaper >.<

Err...I guess not much is happening in Oz eh?

Shay: Nope I haven't got my textbook back yet...actually I haven't called back to enquire about it :p

black shinigami
08-12-2005, 09:33 AM
Haha, nothing special in Oz. People have their trials now so no info from them. I went so bad in my maths one it was funny. The first 3 Qs, I lost 12 marks, the 4th I only got 4 marks. -_- sigh

We always crack jokes in English that our school will get burnt down because we're the only Catholic school in a leb. community and then our teacher is like they'd bomb Town Hall station coz when that blows, everything goes with it and I'm like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! And the guy behind me says "that's it, i'm never going city ever again". XD

But the most dangerous is our community where I live. There were terrorist captures here already and we always get bomb threats at school. (because people hide each others' bags so well that they can't find it anymore and it becomes unattended)

ker_ai_teresa
08-12-2005, 12:40 PM
Yay to John Howard then eh?

there's plenty happening in Sydney! hang on. cindy, you're not a syder are you?
I'm going to do the City to Surf this sunday...it's a race thing. hundreds of people attend, pros and people who just wanna have fun. I'm the latter obviously. wish me luck...that I won't get crushed! >.<

oh, and the Bledisloe cup is this weekend too...not that I really care but I had no idea until masterCP (who's from the Philippines) told me.

Australia is very lucky they drew the thrid test. I hope they don't lose the Ashes, actually it would just suck to lose to the Brits. It wouldn't be right to give the Ashes to them since we've had it for so long.

Oh the Bledisloe cup has happened already? :glug:

I hope McGrath passes the fitness test. I don't think you can rely on Kasprowisc(sp?) and that newbie Tait to do much for the team.

So...what else is happening in good ol' Oz?

kt_kez
08-31-2005, 03:06 AM
Yeah. But out batsmen are far worse than the bowlers at the minute though... We can't even bat to a decent score.. forced to follow on for the first time in ages. When your best batsmen for the test are bowlers you know you got a big problem!

Invisible Children
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/pyre4jay/InvisibleChildren.png

In the South African country of Uganda, children are being abducted continually by a group known as the Lord Resistance Army. The innoncent children are brainwashed against their will to become child soldiers to fight in the war. As a result, the children who are free are forced to live in constant hiding for fear of their lives.

i don't think you can read too much into the victories against the WXI.. sure they're good individual players, but cricket is a team sport and i don't think the WXI preformed to their potential because they didn't gel well as a team.

having said that i'm glad they got rid of Hayden and let Katich and Hussey have a bat. Hussey was playing very well even while the ashes were on and he should have replaced Hayden in the test matches. i think that would have made a big difference

This is something totally random...but I'm so pissed off that next year's school holidays are a whole month early. It's technically not even Summer holidays if you have to spend Summer at school -_-

Oh holidays end in January because of the Commonwealth Games. I don't think we get less holidays. It's just that I can't stand being in a uniform at school during Summer.

but since school starts earlier, it ends earlier becuase of the commonwealth games. in high school next year, im pretty sure the first term is only 6 weeks instead of 11 weeks. but then you get longer temrs in term 2 and 3 i think like 14 weeks >.<

but school uniforms in summer is a real pain in the butt, it sticks to you >.< and people have bad odour too...

Yeah, whoever loves school must have something wrong with them. Ha. Jk, my best friend loves uni. Yeah, I just sigh and think, you poor creature. What happened to make you like that?

No, no, really, if you love school then cool for you. At least yiou'll enjoy being there...for 3/4 of your life. Personally, I hate school. Uni's better than high school but still, pretty much the same.

Oh, did anyone watch Rove last night? How adorable is Daniel Radcliffe? He's cute in a real dorky kinda way

Omgosh, GO SOCCEROOS! Especially Schwarzer - imagine the pressure! I looove the suspense of a good game.

(Uruguay's goalie was pretty good looking :D)

Teresa, are you going to Germany for real?!

I've calmed down considerably now.
but last night, I basically sat on the edge of seat the entire match, suffered heart attacks everytime Rucoba had a free kick and had my hands partially over my eyes during the penalty shoot-out.

I don't think I've seen the Soceroos play so freakin well before, so if they had lost, it would've been really stupid.
Thank goodness for Guus Hiddink, the awesome aussie crowd and of course, the boy's self-belief. :D

xiaoli--> their goalie? meh.
I cursed him each time he saved a goal. :rasp:
and yeah, trust you to pick-up on the looks.

Geez, I really want to go to Germany now. It'll be so exciting!
I so regret not going last time when it was in Japan.

btw, SBS is replaying the match on friday at 7:30pm EST.
