i know about them... i'm not sure if i like them as much as you do though... the first time i saw michelle was in a modern series where she plays an ambitious character... don't really remember the title... i just don't like the way she talks sometimes (choppy)... it only happens when she's acting mad i think... sometiimes she talks too fast also.

i liked the series where raymond and michelle collaborated... she's cute in that series... raymond's not bad either (after seeing him play an evil King in "A Step to the Past" or something like that)... i like his role in that series.

yeah, i noticed that sometimes her expressions are just kind of dull.

i think she needs to improve in her facial expressions.

i'm sure her acting will improve with time.

i know..i just want it to be hk but i actually live in canada right now..i guess tht michelle could improve..but then she doesn't have tht much acting possibilities since 1999. not alot..but of coz she's pretty..i just think she pouts A LOT!!!

Pretty sure this topic has already been discussed here already.

But anyway, i am myself a really big fan of TVB dramas n in the past year Michelle Yip n Raymond has acted in alot of cool dramas.

Michelle really impressed me in Eternal Happiness while Raymond was brilliant in A Step Into the Past as the Qing emperor.

Micheel does seem to have heaps of potential and she is really pretty as well. She always seem so ice cool.

Michelle has actually been around longer than Raymond but they became as famous as they are now after Eternal Happiness, especially as a couple. I used to think Michelle was pretty dull too, all she did was whine or speak in bits, but i think shes improved a lot. First time i saw Raymond was in Taste of Love, and he was ok, funny with Miriam Yeung. But Eternal Happiness was pretty important for their careers!

Survivors Law? I dont think ive heard of it..is it pretty new?

I watched the first four episodes...it was good!

I like Raymond (Ben), hes funny...hehe...and Jessicas sweet too... :laughing:

I preferred Sammul's role in The White Flame, he looks wierd as a lawyer... and Myolies good.

But I wasnt told Juno was in it!! My mum said that his dad wanted him to sing the theme song, but Raymonds company said he was doing it, so Junos dad wanted him to sing the sub-song, but it turns out there wasnt one/or it was already recorded so they had to give him a cameo role!

and yes i LOVE RAYMOND LAM TOO! his character is way cute... i've been watchin his dramas for a long time. i think, almost every single one. except for ONE i think. i'm impressed by his acting skills hehe he was pretty good even in his first tvb drama.
and his singing has improved! i loved the theme song for "survivor's law" hehe. the first time he sang for a drama it was prettttttttttty bad... but its gotten loads better.

I'm going to rent the drama either tomorrow or on a Saturday.I used to always go rent dramas and watch them for a long period of time.Just can't get enough of it.

Yeah I found out they are going to have a modern 'Virtues of Harmony'.It's actually showing in Hong Kong right now.I haven't seen it yet so I can't say anything about it though.

Right now I'm watching the old series of 'Virtues of Harmony' because they started to show it here in Canada a while ago.I find the series funny,so I think the modern series would be good too(I hope).

i don't really like Jessica for the same reason... when she gets upset, she tends to talk really quick... can't catch what she's trying to say a couple of times.

the modern version of Virtues of Harmony is 10 times better than the old fashion version.

Same here.I haven't rented dramas in a long time too.I probably wouldn't survive if I don't start renting the drama soon.I asked my dad to go rent it for me tomorrow,so I hope that I will be able to watch it.

I just wish that in here(Canada) they will start showing new dramas and not dramas that have been showing in Hong Kong two or three years ago.Have to wait so long to just see one.

yeah, they do... well, that's what i heard... like the ones a few years ago and some oldies i think... if you rent, you don't need to get cable... it costs so much!

ddooll-Yeah cable shows old dramas.Not REALLY old,but just old.Mostly two or three years ago(like what I said before).Well actually I'm not sure how much it will cost in a month.I guess it really depends on where you are.

Legend of Love with Sonija is okay... i don't really like it... it gets boring after a while...

i think it's same cast... but there's a little change in the main characters' relationships... and u know the King in the old version, he's the boss... :happy:

I used to like Twins a few years ago(when they first came out),but now I just don't like them anymore.I just think it's kind of waste of money to buy their CDs which really don't have such great songs.I'm not trying to be mean here,so Twin fans please don't start yelling at me. :cry:I'm just telling my opinion about them so just ignore this post.

I find that they are okay(not a fan of them anymore).I don's hate them,but I also don't like them. I believe that they started to sing an english song right?Or am I wrong about that?

the production and storyline wasn't good enough although i anticipated smth better..

I watched the commercial and it looked good.Well I guess it isn't after all.Does it also have some comedy too it?I remember a scene where Charlene was teaching Edison how to drink blood or something like that.THe part where she started to bite his(Edison's) neck or something like that.I found that a little funny.

it was edison.. he drinks blood from a wine glass, and totally refuses to suck blood from a human.. haha.
abt the "love bite", it was becoz edison confessed to her abt him being a vampire.. so charlene demonstrated how a vampire bites.. :laughing:
there was one funny part when both of them slept inside a high tech coffin !! it was a rather cute scene..
overall, edison and charlene looks like a nice couple.. :)
hmm.. i must have said too much.. sorry to anyone if im too over twins now.. :?

Yeah there are places in Canada where they make illegal copies too.Sometimes I feel so pissed after renting a tape,but then it doesn't work or it's hard too see(like what Jessica said earlier).

Virtues of Harmony(the first one) has I think around 300 episodes or more.I'm not sure the exact number.

I think I know which drama you're talking about Jessica(the 'Jun Ching' one).It's the drama that has around 1000 something episodes right?And talks about this big family.I remember it showing in Canada for like 2-3 years(or more) before it finally finished.I was getting so sick of it!

I didn't even get a chance to rent any drama yet.My parents were both busy. :crazy: Have to wait another day or so.*sighs*

Jessica-Oh I didn't watch the whole series for the 'Jun Ching' drama.I just didn't like it after a few months.It was getting so boring and the drama seems like it was moving too slow.I'm so glad it's finally over though.

Still didn't get to rent Survivor Laws yet!!I really want to watch it though!

Virtues of Harmony the first verison isn't even finished showing here in Canada yet.If the modern version is going to even be longer than the 'Kindered Spirit' drama,I think I wouldn't want to watch it anymore too.But if it's really good and funny,I'll still continue to watch it.

i find something very odd about TVB... they always make good beginnings of dramas but poor middles and ends... wassup with dat?

Ddooll-I agree with you so much.There's a drama called 'Something Pegs'.Anyway it's about this guy who is kinda of dumb.So his mom plans to get this girl to marry the dumb guy so she can take care of him.It's really funny,but the ending sucked so bad!I can't believe the ending was like that.I forgot the name for the drama though.

Yeah that's the name of the drama.I forgot the name of it.I found it funny when I first watched it,but at the end.It really disappointed me.I thought that guy was going to choose one of the girls.But he ends up dancing in the fields with both of the girls. :glug: Now that is werid...to me.

"chor lau heung 2001" is a pretty good series (even though some may disagree :dry: )... i liked it... it can be a little dragging in the middle towards the end... and it there are times when there are a little too much talking... but that's how most taiwanese series are... are you up to the part where all those guest stars die yet?... this series does have some funny moments... i've watched it last year i think.

Edit: yeah, i've watched all the parts of 'armed reaction"... i liked all of it... can't wait for the 4th part to come out... i don't like the rapist part either.

'Golden Faith' I think is a series that everyone should watch.It involves with many things that are connected to our everyday lives.I find it a really touching drama.After when Gallen's father died he had to go through so many things at once.How is brother was turning out to be bad,his sister having trouble,Gallen getting in so much trouble trying to help his family.I never found the drama boring.

myolie did act very good in 'Golden faith'.It's a really hard role for her,I guess you can say it's some kind of challenge or something like that.But she was still able to go into that role and act very nicely.She did a really good job on that.

edmond has been around for a loooonnnngggg time. i'd say at least 10-12 years. i remem discussing him with my hongkie pen-friend when i was in high school....and that was a long time ago! plus he's really good friends with andy hui, william so and dicky cheung and they're all around the same age....

hey, i really liked "fly me to polaris". even bought the VCD! =P thought it was a touching story. definitely one of the better HK movies i've seen. i think cecilia is a pretty good actress actually. her singing's not as good though. as for richie, i like his acting and singing. i saw him in the drama "shen diao xia nu" (forgot the english name)with jacqueline ng and it's pretty good.

cecilia is a nurse who works with the blind and richie is the patient. he's blind and mute in the movie, i think. he likes cecilia secretly and one time they were gonna get together after cecilia gets off work. but he was so excited he didn't see where he was going and got hit by a car. he ended up in heaven, but was granted one wish because he was some kind of winner... the 1000000 person to pass through heaven or something? i forget now. anyway, of course he wishes to return to earth. he can now see and hear, but no one would recognize him and he can't tell anyone his real identity. but still, he goes searching for cecilia. they ended up kinda together in the end, but not quite. well, i don't wanna spoil it for you if you haven't seen it.

ummm... no, it's not funny per se. overall it's a pretty touching movie. but there may be parts here and there where you'll chuckle to yourself. but it's no stephen chow if you know what i mean. :D

jessca: yes, i love the theme song, too! "xing yu xin yuan", right? with cecilia, her voice is not as great as other singers, but she gets good songs written for her!!

jessica: oh, that's right! "the legend of the condor lovers". i liked it a lot. richie was pretty good in his role and i thought jacqueline ng was really pretty as 'little dragon girl'. as for the other ones, i haven't heard about "state of divinity", but i saw "the legendary swordsman". that was "xiao ao jiang hu" in chinese with anita yuen? i also saw parts of "mulan" with him and anita yuen. which ones did you see and what did you think of them?

i love that song "xing yu xin yuan" also... that song is so sad!... i understand just a portion of it though. :oops: ... Richie sang it in his concert and i think it sounded a little better with him singing it. :happy:

i've watched all of Richie's series (backwards... from newest to oldest)... i loved all of them... which one was your favorite?... i'm happy to know that someone likes Richie's acting besides me :)

Jewel_Dust --> yep, "fly me to polaris" is not a comedy... it's more like a romantic drama... but there are some light-hearted moments... you should see it.... and i also recommend "summer holiday" and "marry a rich man"... both of those movies are comedies!

Jessica-Oh I watched Summer Holiday and Marry a Rich Man already...I just never watched the 'Fly me To Polaris' movie.So it's more of a touching kind of movie.I just found out about the ending... :cry: quite sad to know that.

Is 'Honesty' the new movie Richie and Cecilia is in?I saw posters at stores,but didn't watch it yet.

I found the movies Summer Holiday and Marry a Rich Man a little funny sometimes.Maybe not SO funny,but it was alright.I don't know which one I like better though...I think I like Summer Holiday better.I found it a bit cute sometimes.

No I didn't watch 'Fly me to Polaris' yet.wackycashew PMed me and told me the ending.I should rent it sometime and watch it.Don't want to miss such a good movie.

yes, "honesty" is the movie with Richie and Cecilia... i heard from ppl who've watched it said it was funny.

you should rent "fly me to polaris"... just a tip, remember to have a box of tissue with you when you watch it. :happy:

i liked both the comedies... "summer holiday" have such a nice view of the beach in Malaysia... the water is sooo clean and clear!... i would want to go there for a vacation some day.

I'm not sure about anything about the movie 'Honesty' yet.I saw a few pics from newspapers and I saw a kid in it.Not sure what it's about too.I think Cecila is a nurse or something.

i haven't seen "honesty" or "marry a rich man" yet. but the latter is being shown on TV this saturday where i live. so, i might check it out. =) i saw "summer holiday" and thought it was pretty good. the scene with sammi being tricked after she tried to trick richie was really touching. and yeah, i definitely cried the first time i saw "fly me to polaris". subsequent times when i watched it were just as good.

jessica: i didn't know richie sang that "xing yu xin yuan" song at his concert. i've just heard the regular and live versions that cecilia has sung. oh, i c, i c. yeah, i really liked richie's acting there. he's good in his roles in kung-fu series, i think. and anita is definitely a great actress. have you seen the movie "he's a woman, she's a man"? i loved that movie!! yeah, if i remember correctly, richie and anita were also in mulan together. :happy: as for favourites, it's kinda hard for me to choose cuz i didn't watch all the episodes for most of them except for "the legend of condor lovers". so i have to go with that one. :bleh: heehee...

Jessica-I watched more of the Chor Lau Heung(wrong spelling).I watched the part where Richie found out who is real mom is and his mom ended up dying because his brother stabbed her with a sword(or a knife...forgot).It was pretty sad at that part though.

which one do you think was better? i liked the first one better than the sequel. the anita yuen and anita mui lesbian thing was a little weird for me. =0 haha... it's kinda addictive to watch a series, eh? i haven't bought any vcds for series. i guess the quality may not be as good at times with so many episodes. there might be the odd bad vcd. what other series do you like? i was in HK 3 summers ago and started to watch "xia nu chuang tian guan" (swordgirl) with vicki zhao and nicky wu. i only got to see half of it though and then had to come back to canada. i'm watching it now from the beginning with my mom cuz she taped it from TV during that summer in HK. have your heard of it?

yeah yeah, i've watched that series also... vicky was soooo funny there!... it is the first time i've seen her act... she did a great job acting her role... you should finish it :happy:

Im currently watching a korean drama (in cantonese) called Endless Love. But its also known as The Fairytale of Autumn and Autumn in my Heart because of the theme song. Anyone heard of it? It stars Wong Bin. Ive only seen the first 4 episodes but it is very moving.

If youre interested...its about two girls who got mixed up at the hospital...and then they change families, one rich, one poor, one in America, one in Korea. Then an older brother goes back to look for his sister, who he had fallen for even before he found out they werent really related. Thats all ive seen....

Someone ends up with cancer? :?

So far, Jin Xi has been reunited with En Xi. And he realises that he still loves her and decided to split up with You Mei. You Mei pleads with En Xi to give Jin Xi back to her, so she decides to give Tai Xi a chance.

Xin Ai finds out about En Xi and becomes scared that she will lose everything and be forced to live with the poor mother who brought her up again. So she pleads with En Xi to go away to save her biological mother another heartbreak. She is also jealous about En Xi and Tai Xi.

(I actually prefer watching when they were children, cos that was really emotional, as En Xi volunteered to leave the family and live with her real mother, giving up her comfortable lifestyle with rich parents, over the top love stuff tends to be too cliche.)

Jessica-I'm half way through the series already??I never knew that.Yeah I'm starting to like it more now.I don't understand mandarin so I'm watching the cantonese version.How many episodes are in the drama anyway?For some reason I really want Richie to be with Ruby.Don't know what will happen at the end though.

yeah, you're half way through... it's a pretty long series... if you rent it, it comes out to 17 tapes... so if there is 2 episodes for each tape then............ well, you do the math! :bleh:

sorry to spoil it, but Richie ends up with someone you least expects. :happy:

wackycashew : there are many girls in this series (and some of them dies)... but the ones i can remember is Ruby, Gigi, Anita Yuen, Monica, Kristy Yueng, etc... sorry, i don't know some of their last names... i think there are more ppl but i don't know who they are or i forgot... hope it is some kind of help... you should rent it if you don't have that on cable!

Im trying to explain 10 hours of drama to you in as little words as possible so bear with me!! :D

Tai Xi and You Mei grow suspicious out their respective partners and try to convince them to marry as soon as possible. You Mei finds a picture that Jin Xi drew of En Xi (when he refused to draw one of her) and realises. Tai Xi sees Jin Xi and En Xi together...

Jin Xi and En Xi decide to spend one last day together as brother and sister at a holiday home they used to have on the mountains. They lie to their partners about it saying they had to do other things. But torrential rain means they are stuck there and cannot return home for the night. They both ring their partners to explain, but Tai Xi and You Mei are actualy in the same room waiting for them.

En Xi writes a letter to Jin Xi to explain that she loves him but they must stay brother and sister as Jin Xi's mother wishes. En Xi's real mother pleads with her other mother to adopt her to give her a better life, and she agrees. This angers Xin Ai who shows the letter to her parents. En Xi and Jin Xi are forced to admit it and they run off together. Heartbroken, Tai Xi goes to look for them.

Youve seen it too! Isnt it so moving...i couldnt stop crying too, but only in the first 3 episodes when they were kids. I found that more emotional as the romancestuff gets a bit too cliched. Im not watching it on TV, my auntie and uncle bought the entire series on VCD in Hong Kong, so im borrowing it off them! Its nice to watch it whenever you want, and you arent kept in suspense if there are any cliffhangers!

Its my first time watching Korean dramas... normally i watch TVB!

I don't watch any Korean dramas....except for this one with two women who swap roles (ie. superstar/singer to normal person) its has someone called "Minna" in it

But anywayz after Aqua Heroes/Not just a Pretty Face TVB are airing AR4!!! Yeah!

Richie changing his hairstyle and clothes? :glug:Don't think I'm there yet.I just watched yesterday's episode(missed the beginning) where Richie's good friend was playing some swords stuff with that guy(who's a little werid and acts like a kid)...then Richie appears and saves his good friend and learns that the guy learned some kind of kung fu trick before his younger brother did.Sorry if I'm confusing you.

Let me keep guessing then.Well is it Ruby or her sister Gigi?I haven't seen Gigi for a while after I missed some episodes.Probably dead or soemthing.I hope Richie doesn't end up with Gigi though.

Right....heres what happens next...

Jun Xi and En Xi have run away together to a farm where En Xi used to work when her family was hiding from debt collectors. They decide to marry. Jun Xi's mother becomes ill because it is considered a disgrace to the family. En Xi rings home to her real mother to tell her shes ok. Her real brother overhears and tells Tai Xi, in exchange for money.

Tai Xi takes them home, and they announce their engagement to their family and You Mei. Jun Xi encourages En Xi not to be feel guilty. You Mei tries to commit suicide and is told she can no longer draw with her right hand (she and Jun Xi are artists) and convinces Jun Xi to stay by her side. Jun Xi and En Xi split up.

I don't watch any Korean dramas....except for this one with two women who swap roles (ie. superstar/singer to normal person) its has someone called "Minna" in it

But anywayz after Aqua Heroes/Not just a Pretty Face TVB are airing AR4!!! Yeah!

sesamestreet-Yeah that drama(the one you said about superstar/singer thing)is showing here in Canada this Saturday...is it good though?I don't know much about it yet.

well, the storyline is kinda new and not the cliche stuff you get with TVB dramas....so that's why i watched it...

but the actors are OK looking only....

So it's actually different from other dramas...well I'm not so sure about the storyline though,but I think I have an idea what it's about.I think that the girl(who's a singer/actress) probably died from some car accident thing.So her twin probably is known as her or something like that.Sounds complicated. :wacko:

No I don't have TVB here.We have to go rent tapes in order to see the TVB dramas,but they also show here in Canada too.But that's after 2-3 years so then it's pretty old then.

It isn't complicated?I thought the drama was based on a pair of twins or something like that.Yeah cause I remember(when watching the commercial) the singer had a car accident and there was fire.So my guess is that she probably got burned....

En Xi tells Jun Xi that everythings ok, and Tai Xi is willing to take her back. You Mei makes him promise never to see her again, and decide to move back to America in 2 months time, never to return.

En Xi faints at Tai Xi's hotel room (where she works as a cleaner) and Tai Xi takes her to the hospital. He rings Jun Xi but he doesnt come to visit. Jun Xi decides to hold an art convention at Tai Xi's hotel (his father is a rich businessman who owns it). Tai Xi gives En Xi nice clothes to wear and helps her pretend to be a couple in front of Jun Xi. But he deliberately goes over the top (Tai Xi is a bit of a spoilt brat, also a womaniser, but truly loves En Xi). Jun Xi storms out with En Xi, in front of You Mei.

After a check-up on her arm, the doctor tells You Mei that everything should be ok, but she hides this from Jun Xi and tells him that she will never regain full use of her right arm, but doesnt mind as long as he is by her side. Jun Xi feels very guilty and knows that he really cant leave her now.

And whats a romantic drama without a terminal illness? Yup...En Xi has leukaemia. And needs a lot of money for the pills to keep her alive until she can have an operation. But she finds out that Tai Xi has had her sacked as he cant face seeing her around. She goes round to see him. Tai Xi shouts at her saying he doesnt need her, doesnt want to be used by her, and he can buy love cos he has loads of money. En Xi replies in tears, I need money, how much are you willing to give me? If i give you my love, how much are you willing to pay me? She runs out of the room, but drops her pills.

Tai Xi gets them checked out and finds out about her illness. He goes looking for her at the beach where she was first reunited with Jun Xi and begs for another chance. He knows that she loves Jun Xi, but wants to be with her to help her heal her illness. He promises that he will go away after she gets better. En Xi doesnt know what to say...

Gotta keep watching... :cry:

Jewel: heehee... it's all right. sometimes it's kinda hard to wait since the whole series may be quite long. my mom just got some tapes from her friend today. it's an "older" version of "chor lau heung", meaning it's chor lau heung when older. :? i'm not really watching it though. the main actress is old and not pretty. there's only one actor in it that i would watch it for. but since it's dubbed in canto, i'd rather not watch it. a little too weird for me.

oh, the older chor lau heung thing. sorry for the confusion. it's another drama featuring the character, chor lau heung, when he's older. it's called "xi men wu hen", which is the japanese name of the female lead. chor lau heung is like 40-50 years old. he's already a dad and his wife is unconscious. it talks about his daughter (female lead), some prince guy, and some other characters as well. there are some japanese people in the drama, so occasionally there's japanese spoken.

yeah, i think the story is pretty interesting. i just don't find the actors appealing. it's a pretty new drama, i think. the same actress plays the mom and the daughter. there's also flashback scenes of when chor lau heung was younger. and his good friend, wu teet fa's also in it. got some other weird characters as well.

oh yeah... heard about edison and shawn being part of the miss hk 2003. not sure who performed though. they usually have a few artists, right? i just know that ed and shawn accompanied all the girls on the trips.

Here are the next two episodes.... :happy:

Jun Xi finds out about You Mei after her doctor left a message on their answer machine congratulating her on her full recovery. But he is convinced that En Xi is happy with Tai Xi so he still agrees to move to America with her, but only after he has a couple of days by himself.

Tai Xi checks En Xi into a private hospital and takes care of her. The check-ups are really painful and Tai Xi is heartbroken watching En Xi suffer. But she has the engagement ring Jun Xi gave her for comfort. She is eventually touched by Tai Xi's dedication and asks for (i think it was) a ring which Tai Xi's mother gave him to look after him. Tai Xi willingly gives it to her. He then goes back home to tell En Xi's real mother everything cos she needs donors. Xin Ai overhears but Tai Xi persuades her to keep it a secret from her other family cos En Xi doesnt want Jun Xi to find out.

Meanwhile, En Xi sneaks out of the hospital to spend one last day with Jun Xi before he goes to America with You Mei. They recall the moment they agreed to die together cos they couldnt live without each other.

En Xi's real mother goes to the other family begging for help cos she knows curing leukaemia takes a lot of money. (En Xi's father died from it and they spent all their money trying to heal him, leaving them in debt). Everyone knows about En Xi apart from Jun Xi who has not returned yet. You Mei doesnt know what to do.

En Xi is shocked to see everyone by her bedside and promises them that she will recover. She overhears someone talking about the death of a patient after going in for a transplant and she is very scared. Tai Xi finds her sitting in the park and encourages her to keep fighting. He makes a list of everything worth living for, including Jun Xi. But she adds another reason - for him. On hearing this, he is very touched and starts crying ... :cry:

Her condition deteriorates and she passes out from the pain. You Mei learns this and decides to tell Jun Xi. They both rush to the hospital and he yells into the intensive care unit that he loves her. The doctor tells them that she may die unconcious as it is impossible to perform the operation while she is unconcious. Jun Xi just walks away. You Mei feels incredibly guilty and pleads Tai Xi to convince Jun Xi to return to En Xi. But he cant do this, he cant give En Xi back to him.

Later on, they learn that she will not make the night, and the doctor advises them to see her for the last time. Both of En Xi's mother collapse. Xin Ai feels guilty because she stole everything that belonged to En Xi, and her father feels guilty for leaving her behind in Korea and splitting Jun Xi and En Xi up the first time. Tai Xi promises En Xi that he will bring Jun Xi to her, and to wait for them to return.

oh, jessca! those 2 episodes are so sad and touching. *sob sob* both mothers fainted... really shows the bond b/w mom and daugther whether it's the birth mom or the one who nurtured you. and i guess everyone is reflecting on the situation and realizes they did something wrong and feels guilty. and i can see why both guys care about En Xi so much. well, can't wait for the last 2! though i think it's gonna be sad... :cry: thanks again for the summaries, pawpaw! :)

Heres the last two...

Tai Xi finds Jun Xi drunk and manages to pursuade him to go to the hospital. He watches over her and prays for her to wake up. Miraculously, she does and she tells him that she wants to go home. So the two sneak away. Tai Xi goes to her room and finds the bed empty. Everyone is overjoyed as they realise En Xi must have woken up. The doctor says there is nothing he can do as the time has passed (maybe the cancer is too advanced after she missed the chance to operate while unconcious).

The two spend time together at the beach. Tai Xi sees them at the beach and is glad to see her so happy. During a check-up, En Xi asks how she can tell if her condition has deteriorated. The doctor tells her that one of the syptoms is coughing up blood. One morning, she does just that and hides the blood-stained blanket under the bed. She asks him to take photos of her. She knows that she dosnt have long left, but hides it from Jun Xi.

Tai Xi goes to visit them and while he is talking to En Xi, Jun Xi finds the blanket. En Xi asks him to get the camera to take photos of her and Tai Xi, and when he seems angry, En Xi says it was just a joke. Jun Xi explodes at her saying that the fact she is dying is not funny, and is not worth laughing about. En Xis family go to visit her, except from her real mother and Xin Ai, who cannot face seeing her after what happened. Her mum brushes her hair and is shocked to see that En Xi has started losing her hair. She finds out that Jun Xi gave the photos to her to look after. She searches his room and finds pills in his drawer. En Xi confronts him and makes him promise that he wont commit suicide if she dies.

At the beach, he eventually tells her that he loves her. Jun Xi gives En Xi a piggy-back to lull her to sleep. Her grip loosens, and Jun Xi knows what has happened. :cry: At her funeral, Tai Xi asks him how he can be so relaxed. He is upset because he couldn’t save her, En Xi was the only thing that mattered to him. Jun Xi replies that he promised En Xi he would be fine. He asks him to scatter her ashes cos he wanted to go visit the places that meant so much to them in their childhood. As Tai Xi scatters her ashes into the sea, Jun Xi goes back to the school. Thinking about the past, he walks into the road and gets run over.

They are finally reunited.

But i found the scenes with Tai Xi and En Xi more touching...because they replayed many of there scenes together when Tai Xi was driving away from the beach after seeing the two together. He loved her so much, and in the end, was willing to give her away to his best friend.

I didnt mind telling you the storyline...hehe..i enjoyed sharing it with you. :happy:

omg, i've just finished watching "golden faith"... i love the ending... i'm happy that it ended that way... i really wanted to kick Raymond's ass for being so stupid... i'm glad that he finally finds out that he was being used all those time.

You finally finished 'GOlden Faith'.It was a good ending.Well I guess Raymond was just brainwashed by his um...was it Uncle?Or whoever that guy was.I feel sorry for Raymond though cause he ended up trusting the wrong person and then got himself into all that trouble.But at least now he learned from all his mistakes.

I finished Survivor's Law a while ago and now ive started Aqua Heroes...the one with Edwin Sui and Bobo Chan. Their actings OK i suppose, but im sure theyll improve.

Well it Chor Lau Heng shows on the weekdays so 5 episodes per week.So abour six weeks it has been showing.But I missed out on a lot of episodes and I haven't been watching much tv lately.

Bobby is a bit mean but did u see the part where Bobby and the other girl(forgot her name) finds out about the affair thing?Anyway don't want to spoil it for you,but I'm sure you'll find out later.

Well everytime a new drama comes out we're only allowed to rent 3 or 2 tapes which isn't a lot of course.I'm probably going to rent it next month.

why didn't you like it... it was kind of weird when i first watched it... but after a while, i started liking it.
i'm up to tape 7 and starting to watch the next tape later.
bobby was really mean when he found out and he's mistreating his family... i prefer watching him joke around... so you didn't watch the whole series?

did you watch that series where Chilam was a mute?... that series was good and a bit sad.

Yeah I did watch the Chilam movie thing where he was mute.I wanted him to be with um..Charmaine(think that's her name) but she ended up with Steven Ma instead.I watched that a long time ago,but I did like it.It was kinda sad.Especially what Chilam's mom did to him.

Yeah I didn't like it really much that's why I didn't watch most of the episodes.Actually I like it when Bobby is the funny type or person who jokes around...not the type who's serious.It just looks werid to see him like that.

yea, i can't wait to see it too, but i think it will be better if i wait for more tapes to come... i don't really remember all that happened in the previous series :oops: ... according to what the press have been saying, i think Marco is going to die in this series :cry: ... i hope it's not true... in part III, when one of the child died, i was so sad :sad: (don't remember if the girl or boy died... do anyone remember?)

The little boy died...and Jenny (the little girl actress) nearly died in the end when she had explosives tied to her. I love Joyce and Marco as a couple...i wonder when they will get married, they seem to have been a couple for ages! Or have they already got married? :?

Return of the Cuckoo was so good too! I thought Chilam was really good playing 'chor gor gor'. Its a very good, moving series, but i didnt think the ending was sad...just very unsatisfying! They should have shown us a bit more of what happened after they met up again!

yeah, the ending of "return of the cuckoo" was such a cliff hanger!... i just find it sad that the girl married the other guy and not Chilam... i hate series like that... leave the ending to your imagination. :oops:

Yeah the boy ended up dying at the end for Armed Reaction 3.I like the names for the two kids though.

Marco will die in Armed Reaction 4!?I hope he doesn't!Actually I'm happy that Ada is now taking part for Armed Reaction instead of the other girl(forgot her name...but she used to be Bobby's girlfriend who also had a son).

I think the girl should have been with Chilam though,but then he was the one who gave up so that's why she ended up with Steven.

Yeah Charmaine does do a lot of dramas lately.I want to watch her new drama...not sure the name of it,but it also has two other actresses who are Miss Hong Kong winners.

I remember that part at the very end.It is kinda werid to see her as a mom at the end.I think she and Steven had two or three children at the end,but it looks like Chilam still likes her though.

Nick is only 6 months younger than her...but they have been a couple for ages! I liked watching them together for the series 'the legendary 4 aces'.

The Miss HK winners who do the most acting are Sonja Kwok, Anne Heung and Charmaine Sheh...and Winnie Yuen is normally a lesser character in shows. But i think Charmaine only came 3rd...i cant remember now... :oops:

Oh I still remember 'The legendary 4 Aces'.It was a funny show,but pretty old too.Yeah they've been a couple for a long time.But there isn't much about their relationship anyway.I haven't heard anything about Esther for a long time.

Wow you still remember DIF 4?Well she didn't really steel Louis away from Jessica(although I want Louis and Jessica to be together).Well Louis had always like Anne more I guess,but it wasn't such a good ending though.

wow, you guys sure have watched a lot of tv dramas! heehee... i saw one with charmaine and i think gordon lam is his name? it was called the old country spirit or something like that... it talked about wine-making. and winnie was in it as well. i haven't watched the series by esther, but i've heard good things about it. :happy: as for anne, there's a drama where she switched faces with another girl. i don't know what the drama is called. i only caught one episode, but it looked really interesting. does anyone like cheung ho yi (maggie)? she's in quite a few tv dramas. i saw one with her and lisa wong, patrick tang, etc. where she was the eldest daughter of the family. it was about her mom awakening from a coma, called "fun cheen fun hau" in canto...

Ha! wacky, I've watched all those you just listed, only because it was on TV here. I really liked Country Spirit, I even rented the earlier one called Plain Love II with Maggie in it, similar premise, but about tea making, good stories. But I thought the one about changing faces was quite ridiculous and after awhile you just get so frustrated at the overt niceness of the character.

I think that's the only series that I liked Charmaine in, because in others she's always the goodygoody, in this one it showed that she could act in more versatile roles. Plus the story is really good and I love the sceneries, especially the water falls that they keep showing.

The one with the coma, it was alright, I liked Maggie in it because she seems to be a good actress. I don't know who the actress that played the mom is, but sometimes when she was still "not back in form" yet, she seemed almost to have an evil look on face, hahah, overactive imagination probably.

actually, that's the only series i've seen with charmaine. i heard about the return of the cuckoo with chilam, but didn't get to see it. heard that he was great in that one. anyway, back to the country spirit... yeah, i think this role showed that she's a pretty good actress. she had to overcome so many challenges and believed in herself.

oh, i think that woman's name is lisa wong (wong ming chuen). she's a veteran in the field. and i liked maggie here cuz she portrayed her role as the stubborn yet responsible elder sister very well. that other woman (role name: susan) who's her dad's girlfriend was pretty. kinda ironic how things turned out in the end...

what kind of challenges? :? I don't really know much about HK stars except for some of their names.

I agree her portrayal was really convincing. I find that she often plays the same kind of roles, that of the strong stubborn woman, perhaps has a misunderstanding with the lead guy at the beginning, and they gradually see each other as not so hard on the inside as they appear on the outside. It is ironic how it turned out, but it seemed too easy to just let such a long relationship go like that. Ah well, it's TV.

oh, just how in the drama charmaine got married to a supposed dead guy. and then fell in love with one of the workers at the wine factory (gordon lam). and yet wasn't supposed to love him cuz she's "married". and then when she become the boss, how people plotted against her with the whole rice ordeal. that's what i meant by challenges.

ummm hmmm... i know what you mean. perhaps it's how maggie comes across to viewers. maybe people expect her to be in those kinds of roles? anyway, with these HK dramas, do you watch a mando dubbed version? :? or do you just pick up the canto and try to make sense of it all?

Oh in the SHOW! I thought there was some juicy gossip about her as an actress, haha.

Anyway, I remember the very first show I saw Maggie in where she wasn't playing that stereotype, it was called "The Smiling Ghost Story", it was on really late at night on Saturdays. Dunno how old it is. Anyway, she was this really nice girl and she dies while saving this guy, but she comes back as a ghost and she falls in love with the guy she saved and he falls for her. I liked it.

No I don't have that function on my TVs, I just watch it in Canto, at the beginning I mostly read the caption, but now I've learned a lot from watching so I can understand about 70-80% of it depending on how much slang and how fast people are talking. Now the habit of reading sometimes hinders my learning or listening as I would read the stuff I understand anyway. I just watch it at dinner or whenever, I'm starting to tape some stuff, so I can watch it later, after the whole series has been shown and dont' have to wait for that one episode a day thing. And if I don't like it I can find out much quicker and chuck it! :D

oh really? i haven't heard of that ghost drama. sounds interesting and romantic yet kinda sad. actually this human-ghost love relationship thing reminded me of the movie with nic tse and this girl (forgot her name). she's a dancer and nic's deaf in the movie. there was also eason and candy in it. it's called "tiramisu". have you seen it?

yeah... usually canto stuff doesn't have that dual-language function. i think they usually have it for mando dramas. wow, 70-80% is really good from just listening and watching tv. :thumbsup: yeah, i like watching everything in one go as well. when you only see one episode per day or per week, it leaves you in suspense for too long. heehee...

Recently I found out that my new VCR has that function and I tried, it sure sounds weird with all these previously seen cantonese actors speaking Beijing mandarin! :laughing: But I think I will stick to watching it in Cantonese to learn more, where else I get the opportunity??

I have seen that movie! It was on omni2 right? The actress's name is Karena Lam I think, she's really cute/pretty. It was sweet, but the ending was kinda strange. Oh and didn't Nic Tse have such a girly hair cut in that movie?? It was obviously a transitional time. :laughing: Was it really him dancing? Pretty good.
