Ermm... (Sorry but no Offence!) I would like to know how you all feel that now Jay become so famous? I actually had 2 thought, I'm happy, :sideways: but I'm sad too. :cry:

Happy, was in the sense that he can make it to the music industry, with so many ppl like him, get to know him, his music, everything. His concert was always full house. And also the fact tat he wants the world to know of his music sounds big too. (Great ambition!) :laughing:

But was sad that in the sense that he seems to be getting further away from us. (This is wat i think lor. So sad... :sad: ) Every concert that he held was getting bigger and bigger, and he seems untouchable, so far away. Though he was still a shy guy, but he was not the boy next door that we used to know. So, how u guys feel abt jay become famous?

i've been a jay chou fan since ever, but like i've stopped listening for him for awhile..guess all this whole "new" jay got me feeling distant abit. but now i'm back into him lol, and i'll like him as long as he doesn't stop making good music and doesnt become some kind of fake plastic artist (that'll never happen) so i'm happy that he's famous and all, happy for him! what a lame post lol. my second one! yay.

Yeah, it's kinda a mixed feeling too.

I'm happy and so proud of him because he can totally be the number one1 musician in Asia. And I'm so happy that Jay's name started to get recognized in Indonesia, my dearest country who only knows one mando artists: F4. :dry: And the thought of sharing the same adoration with other fans around the world toward a very talented musician:Jay, somehow makes me proud of myself too. It's like,... finally I could like someone because of his talent, not his looks. And his talents is proven to be as great as people always said because his fans are huge in numbers and are increasing day by day. :excited:

I'm sad is because Jay is now a very expensive artist, and to get gim to perform a concert in Indonesia feels like almost impossible. :cry: Indonesia is not a Chinese speaking country, therefore the knowledge of mando music is so little. So little that our big Jay is nothing in here. :cry: Now no promotors in Indonesia want to hold Jay's concert because his price is too high while they might not even can get the ticket sell. And just inviting Jay for a promo is impossible because Jay is too big. He doesn't need to promote his album, on the other hand, people are chasing after it. :crazy:

I agree that Jay had become sort of untouchable. But I'm sure he's not worse than F4. He still got a chance to talk with his fans (in the airport). I'm just scared that the fact he's getting very famous, that he somehow change his whole image just to follow the celebrities trend. I hope that never happens. I love the real shy Jay. :blush:

haha that's what i feel too.

im so happy for him for having so much success and popularity. but at the same time i'm getting jealous of having to share him with some many other people hahaha.

Same sentiments here.
Happy :love: for him to become this famous and successful because he deserve it.
Worried :cry: because big success will put him under a different degree of stress and loss of freedom.

Should there be changes hopefully it's for the best while the traits that makes us love him - being a "regular guy", a filial son, shy yet humorous, proud yet humble - remains the same :love:

yeah, i'm really happy for his success and having his music getting recognized out there..even in the usa! and i'll continue supporting and loving him for making his good music..which is the diaoest thing bout him.

i'm just jealous that i've gotta to share him with so many people out there (~yeah, same for me). bout that 'distant' feel~ yeah, perhaps a little, but there is still that shy feel in him that i love..so yeah, he's still there~ =]

Ya, i'm have 50-50 feeling about his popularity and famous level. Coz we have to worry whether his new album will be sold out on the 1st day of release, concerts getting bigger... tickets getting more expensive... Jay got more countries to go... means we have to wait for very long before he can come to our country... :cry:

But anyway, i'm happy for what he have achieved. Keep it up Jay~ :yeah:

I think its great that hes getting noticed and getting credit for everythings hes doing, cos we all know hes talented and deserves his spot in the limelight, unlike many people. But it seems to me that fame has started to change him...and I started supporting the guy who was shy and wrote great music for the hell of it..I just hope he stays like that... :oops:

i think jay would not regret for taking the singer path, since that music is his life. I think the onli thing that he lose is his freedom! Guess he would not get it back for the time being! (Blame him for being so famous now!)

Hhhmmm...I feel 50/50...it's like: I'm proud of him that he has reached this all but I think his personality will totally change...and that's what I don't like...He's just like a man who you can't reach, but only by sacrifice your family or sumthing...you have to pay more money to go to his concerts, you must wait longer for his new albums or singles...or like artists who don't even care abt their fans and just walk through the ppl...you know what I mean?! :cry:

becoming too famous always has a down side like: lost of anonymity and stuff liek that! obsess people and yeah. Up bright side: cool people you can meet other stars, promotions, and other job opportunities! and like justtin Tim. said he's very lucky to have his job, and he's loving it too.

im extremely happy for him and very proud of him^_^ i dont think Jay has never been shy on the inside.....he prob just use to be shy when he didnt have much confidence b/c he was just a newcomer back then....but since now that hes on top of it all......i think he's just letting his inner personality come out. he hasnt changed.....i think hes just being who he realy is and yeah it kinda feels like there is no way for his fan/s to get "close" to Jay as he gets more and more famous but i guess thats how it is when fame comes along^_^but then again, we all know how much jay cares about his fans!hehe^_^

i think it's really good that jay is so popular b/c i think he's brought really good chinese music to other countries. like other groups like f4 have gotten popular in other countries but the quality of their music isn't that good, so i think jay did a good job in showing that chinese music can sound good and be popular. also he's worked really hard so it's exciting to see him get the recognition he deserves. but yeah it does suck that everything w/ his name on it is really expensive (cds, concert tickets, etc). also, if he gets over exposure people might get sick of seeing him around everywhere (like boa), but i think he's a smart guy and he doesn't like to really be in the spotlight all the time so hopefully that won't happen.

WEllz overall im sooo proud of hIM and happie that he is so darn FAmous! i mean seriouslY jAY is an amazing- beyond belief guy.. and if he weren't so famous.. not that many pple wud kno about him and that wud be a pitY!! i guess its tru that as he grows in fame and gets more and more fans.. i feel farther away from him.. buT i'm glad that SOOO many wonderful pple LOVE jay along w. mee. Yeah, I agree...it is kinda bittersweet. I'm so proud of him and what he has achieved over the years. I mean, I haven't been a longtime fan but from what I've read, he certainly has worked hard and has gone far. For an asian to be so internationally known is not easy. So, I'm happy that he has so many fans from around the world all spreading the Jay love. He deserves all the success he gets.

At the same time, as more and more people become his fans, it's gonna be harder for fans to get close to him. And as he gets more popular, he'll get more commercialized and also have less freedom to move around.

I think at the moment the pros outweigh the cons so it's ok. He's still true to himself and keeps producing his music...We'll all love him as much as ever...and even more, if that's possible :D

well, i'm happy for his success, and all that he's achieved. His talent should be well known, he deserves the attention he's getting and because of what he's become, we get to experience such great music and what a wonderful man he is. Fame comes inevitably with talent like his, he worked hard, and he earned it, this fame, the fortune, and his name. his name: Jay Chou. People recognize it, people know it, some adore it, some don't, but it's known nevertheless. I am proud, as all of you are.

but i am saddened, not because he'll be farther from my reach, i never really dreamt of having him with me to begin with, it's an admiration from afar. I am saddened, because along with fame, comes change. I feel that Jay is changing, somehow, i don't know if it's for better or for worse, but he is changing, and i somewhat miss the old, shy, Jay. the one with silent talents, i don't know...but if it wasn't for him becoming famous, i wouldn't even know him to begin with.

I feel that he is farther from us, in the sense that he is drifting away, this shy and humble Jay, i don't want something to happen like, i won't even recognize him anymore, not much in the sense of physical distance, if you get what i'm trying to point out....but, well, i don't know..

after all, who am i to judge?

i'm happy that he's famous and his music is heard by so many people.. and like he's rich and all and he and his mum can lead a good life.. and even after being so famous, he still does charity work and all..
but yeah i think he is getting further and further away frm us... he used to be a shy boy.. like don't dare to hold girl's hand and all.. but as we can see frm his new mv, he can just hug the girl pretty naturally, in my opinion.. of course maybe it's a good thing that he has opened up, but for me, i would still prefer his shy nature.. so cute and so sweet...

It might sounds weird but I feel like Jay is kind of my good friend which is about leaving me behide. And it is funny when I heard somebody said that she is just a Jay's new fan, I just hate her a bit cause i feel like she would be try to steal Jay from me.. :(

lolz... i feel happy for him that he's getting so famous... but i'm extremely jealous of those that get to see him in concert and stuff... also, ppl who live in HK, taiwan, malaysia, and all those places in asia are all so lucky... simply cuz they have chinese channels and they could go see stars or their idols for free sometimes... like when they have public events... about the chinese channels, they get to see chinese stars on tv... soo lucky... u see, we don't have this in nyc... sux... we have to rent tapes over here just to see some special events... :dry:

it seems like this topic hasn't been disscussed recently..but this topic fits into how i feel about jay..i am both happy and sad for jay's popularity...happy cuz he's getting more and more popular cuz he totally deserves it..i hope his popularity will never die out..it would be really sad to see his popularity die out especially when he always has this down look..hope this will never happen...but then again...his fans are becoming more and more...and i agree that we are getting smaller and smaller..harder and harder to reach him...it seems like there's so many of us that none of us are special to him anymore...that's how i feel...if there's one day that i could tell him face to face that i admire u sooooo much...it wouldn't make him feel special...cuz there's tons more ppl who think that...i think the only person who would feel special is his future soul mate...cuz there's only one of her...so sad...

Of course it's great for him that his popularity is growing, as I don't think there's another singer who deserves it half as much as he does, simply for being so darn talented and wonderful.

On the other hand, he's busier than ever, so busy that he doesn't even have time to come to Singapore to stage a concert, like he did the previous two years. It's disappointing for me, especially since I like him so much more than I did last year and last year he was here. That's just an example of the things he used to do which he won't have as much time for anymore. Of course, I'm sure he doesn't really mean for it to happen but that's just how it is.

Well, the thing that i'm sad for Jay is... he can't have some peaceful life. He actually wanted to be peaceful when he's retiring. Of course as most of you replied, I'm happy for him. Really. Fame that passes 15 minutes doesn't happen to anyone for no reason. I hope his dream in going global can come true... perhaps even win a Grammy someday.

Concern #1: I don't want him to get so popular that ppl would start calling him a sellout or overlook the talent that gave him his success.
Concern #2: The poor boy's health! ALFA he needs more breaks!!!! He's NOT a money tree!!!
Concern #3: I know Jay's this shy/humble guy but still, can't help worrying about him getting cocky from all this success. Afterall, he is incredibly young and did become a huge success rather quickly.

Yea, like what everyone said here. Im happy that he is so famous now. When I just speak of him, everyone would say though he is a ugly boy, his music is excellent! Tt great! [not the ugly boy part though] And the proudest part of it is he's never arrogant! :) Unlike some artistes that go all over the world to promote their album.. Jay never need to. Everyone is just waiting for it. Now i wonder if that a good thing that is happening though.. Hmm..?

I am reallly proud of Jay of his excellent success..but i am also sad because he is so famous that we fans are further from him since then...He is so busy with those schedules tat he can't go to other countries for promote his albums...For you guys information, Jay has never come to Singapore for any signature sessions from his first album till now..He onli come for concerts or some charity shows...He will not stay for more than 3 days..He is like so far from us..People are keep spreading rumours about him..saying his music..his movie and the girls around him..quite annoyed when see some rubbish news about him..His concerts are getting bigger...albums sold are faster...the results of all these will affects us so much..haiz..

hmm i think overall, i'm pretty happy that he got famous.. for one, he proved them [all the people who thought he was "ugly" or "too stupid" to make something out of himself] WRONG! also, now a lot of people can enjoy his music and appreciate his talents.

i think that in a way, he has done more than just create music though.. i feel as though he has a huge positive influence on people and various issues as well. :happy:

but even so, i wish he wasn't as famous as he is right now.. mostly due to selfish reasons i guess? cause now it would be more difficult to see him and everything.. in addition, more or less i think being this famous will somehow change him and he'll never be the same jay as he first started out as.

im happy and quite worried. im happy that he's getting famous. even my malay friends likes some of his songs. he's getting success every passing day. maybe some international singers would like to collaborate with him. maybe alicia keys? hhaha. i've always dream they would get together and sing with their piano. that would be so cool lor.

and im quite worried that fame will run through his brain. and he'll have a big ego wall around him and all. because he knows he's the shit in this industry. and im scared the fame will affect his music and made it sound worst. =(

but sometimes i think he is abit over-rated..
i mean he is a very very very good singer/composer but i just think he is not the greatest singer in this era...
and i think the fame has gotten into him

and the fact that he is involved in many other projects other than singing is surely going to pull his quality in music down...
a person can't be perfect in everything he does...

I felt the same way too. He's moving sideways. Moving away from what he is doing which is supposed to be music. He seems to forget that he is a singer, a musician. Sorry no offence, there's a saying that people who climb higher tends to forget themselves. It seems that this sentence really fits into him. I like him because he is a talented musician but now, I don't know what's going on.

he got too greedy. first it was all about the music, and now he all of a sudden shows up on every magazine and endorsements/advertisements. he doesnt even have that many good songs in an album like he used to. he should share his money with the people, mainly me.

I think it's awesome, as long as he keeps making the good music he's always made. Like, I don't want to him to start getting lazy and resting on his laurels. I hope he continues to challenge himself and churn out even more awesome music.

I think as a Jay's fan, I'll support him in whatever he wants to do. I think he is smart enough to know what he wants in life, and he is working so hard towards it! That is why I admire him sooooo much, he is my inspiration!

Music/TV as long as Jay is happy, so am I! Besides, I'm not complaining if I get to see more of his pics and movies!

I feel it is great about it, being that it comes with the territory of being a star***** I am very happy for him and hope that he has all the success that he wants to have, and that he makes sure that he is happy while doing it. Also, I hope that he finds the woman of his dreams and that he lives happily ever after. Not a fairytale life, but a reality in life that I wish and hope for him.

I don't really mind. I guess from the start I figured he'd always be an untouchable pop star who could inspire us with all of his talents and music. Although, I have noticed that he has gotten less shy and more comfortable in the music business. That doesn't seem like a bad thing though...at least from my perspective. I remember him saying that he hopes not to lose his creativity by maturing because he can write from so many perspectives because he's still kind of immature. I'm just hoping that part of him doesn't change. It's definitely the most important part in him. (heh...kinda like DNA)

firstly i am happy of course..
jay getting famous is a very good thing..
his talent in music is being known world wide..
thats a nice thing..
but what i want to say is that his music..
i discover that the music he made recently has lose the value of sincerity..
the songs are nice..but i cant feel the feeling of the music soul inside the song like his old songs..
his old songs are created through pure innonence and sincerity which made them special
but now his songs..
juz want to say i still like jay and every of his songs..

I think Jay totally deserves his fame. Jay's fame is the most genuine, in that initially, he didn't become famous for his looks/ money/ ppl relations. When he started out, his producer complained that he was "too ugly" because he didn't have double eyelids (imo, eyelids are eyelids, why does it even matter?), but he proved him wrong and gained public attention for his MUSIC.
However, from my point of view (sorry if I offend anyone), Jay's quality in his albums is declining. Like I think his earlier albums are so much better than his yodel songs from On the Run and Capricorn. The fame that he is receiving now is also partially due to his previous fame. To put it bluntly, I guess you could say that he's living off of his past reputation. Also, another reason why he's so famous NOW is because other people actually give him the opportunity to try out new stuff like directing.

Regardless, Jay Chou is still amazing. Jay Chou, ftw!

I ever feel happy about his fame but now aday i'm not ......
because he has no(enough) time for music
he do lotta thing movie ,drama, spokesman for stuff

I think when he did many thing it make his song quality down
I love his old music and old album more than last

and 1 reason that make me not happy~~~~
Jay have no time to take a big REST!!~~
really worry about his health
