We all know that UBC provides us with two music channel, that is Channel V and MTV. Channel V has been with UBC longer than MTV, marketed towards more local audience, whereas MTV is the cross between local and international. It's the only two music channel "brands" competing each other. However, without them, we wouldn't be as musically "savvy" or sophisticated or even updated. with that, i was wondering:
a. Which do you prefer watching, or like better: MTV or Channel V?
b. Who is your favorite VJ?
c. If you were going for the next VJ, which channel would you go for?
my opinion:
a. I always loved MTV, all the way from the time they didn't have MTV Thailand, it was MTV Asia, airing to Southeast Asian countries. The VJ then was Sonia, thailand's supermodel and then they changed to VJ Donita, and they were both really cool. RIght now, it's VJ Utt and Denise running the MTV Asia. When MTV Asia (headquarters in Singapore) cooperated with Thailand to make MTV THailand, there was infusion of Thai local artists into MTV. i prefered Channel V, then coz they were simply more sophisticated and professional at running the programs. The VJs were nice too--you have Terng, Sunny and Lookaed (to name a few) which they are quite alright. I like the "Pepsi By Demand" alot where you could request some songs. MTV Thailand was just beginning, if you remember they had VJ Michelle, Rowena, Matthew and Sean running the show. But now MTV Thailand is improving every year; improving VJs and programs, that itz very influential, very interesting and very ADDICTIVE!! :bleh: i luv MTV Whatever Things so much, with such a hot host like Edison Chen, The Osbournes, TRL, MTV Cribs, and more that i love watching. But most importantly, it was the channel that introduced me to JAY CHOU!! :wink2:
b. I used to like VJ Terng and Jenny alot, when they did the "Pepsi By Demand" but when they reinvented the show, they changed VJs daily so i guess i kind stop watching Channel V. Besides, VJ Nicky and VJ Poom (MTV) are the best! Especially VJ Poom, who drops in nasty, perverted jokes from time to time. :shifty: VJ Donita was the best VJ about 6-7 years ago, to me but she quit. but VJ Utt and Denise are awesome too! Denise n Utt has a lot of charsima and humor when running shows; they make it interesting.
c. i would definately choose MTV, because of the greater exposure to a more international level. Coz MTV is a widely recognized music channel, you get opportunities to meet international artists, who are willing to spend time for MTV  besides, you have the MTV Asia Awards, which is undeniably the biggest musical award event in Asia.
what do y'all think?
