Who did Jay compose the best songs for?

Jay's composed a lot of songs for other singers, so which of the above do you think he composed the BEST songs for? In other words, which singer does he give the best of his songs to? Try not to vote based on how you like the singer, but rather his/her songs. You can listen to clips of the songs under Jay's Discography on the main page.

I only put the singers that Jay recently wrote for, because many haven't heard songs that he wrote for people a long time ago. :tongue:

i haven't really listened to any landy or nqmm songs, so i'm basing my opinion off of jolin and s.h.e.
i like the songs that jay composed for jolin, but listening to her sing them makes them sound bland. but then they sound good when jay sings them lol. i really like hou niao and re dai yu lin. so my vote goes to s.h.e.

I've heard all the songs you mentioned above.. except Jolin's Hao Dao and Landy's Xia Tian De Feng.. The rest of the songs which i've heard, i really like them!! :D My vote went to NQMM though (it was hard to choose initially!).. I like xiang cao ba bu's catchy tune. For wa jie, it's one of my fave NQMM songs now, ever since i heard Jay's version..

It is very obvious that he took a lot of effort when it comes to things related to her, he did not even rap and do the background vocals for NQMM and Landy. All the songs composed by Jay for jolin were very nice, therefore i vote for jolin.

I have to say Landy Wen, definitely her. The songs he wrote for her are really nice because they are r&b-ish, not pop-ish, like those songs he wrote for Jolin. The songs he wrote for Landy also make more sense in a sense that the songs have tunes that go with meaningful lyrics. Songs like Hai Dao and Bu La Ge Guang Chang have tunes that only funny lyrics can go with. Uh yea. I don't really know how to explain but oh well. Jay composed the best songs for Landy. Yeaaa.

I don't think Jay composed Jia, because it wasn't on his discography page (you can find that webpage on the homepage of jc.net). So yeah. The list of songs I put were all taken from that page, so they should be correct. :wink2:

it took me some time to decide!
but when you say songs jay composed for jolin, the first song that came to my mind was dao dai.
and when you say the songs jay composed for s.h.e, i think of hou niao. (i didn't consider landywen or nqmm) no offence! sorry to their fans.

wow! what a tough question! very very hard to make decision here..all those songs that was compose by Jay was perfect enough...i admit that Jay did really great composing songs for Jolin..because all those songs that he compose for Jolin was awesome..its just the way how Jolin sang it..kinda spoilt the songs...(no hard feelings for Jolin's fans!) agree with bethie_me that jolin
wouldn't be this popular without Jay's helps!
But Jay did very good job to on SHE's songs (Hou Niao, Re Dai Yu Lin, He Bing Gong Yuan) all those songs that Jay compose for SHE,Jolin,Nan Quan Ma Ma and Landy was my favourite in the album!

This is so darn difficult, but I'd prefer those he wrote for Jolin, espeically Bu La Ge Guang Chang and Qi Shi Jing Shen. Those two were really good, I bought her album because of them.

After some thinking, I think it should be Jolin. Because most of her songs written by Jay are very popular. But I think Jolin is spoiling the songs when she sings them because I in my opinion, she has no talent in singing. *no offence to Jolin fans* The songs would be even better if he had written these songs for other artists like S.H.E.

He must've been inspired writing those great songs for Jolin.

I can't decide who he composed the best song for as I love all the songs mentioned. However, if I were to choose who benefited the most from the songs that he composed for, my vote would definitely go to Jolin Tsai. He pulled her out from the slumps that her music career was headed for with Shuo Ai Ni and the rest of the songs. So Jolin has definitely got Jay to thank.

i agree with Mei-Zhi.. i really like the songs he composes for both Jolin and S.H.E.. i feel that he songs he writes for them are like custom-made for the singers..

I haven't heard all the songs that Jay composed for the other artists, only heard a selected few (some from Jay's Incomparable concert and some from the artists themselves), and I gotta admit that my fav is Dao Dai that he wrote for Jolin. Totally love the song after I heard Jay sang it in the concert. I haven't heard Jolin sang the full version, but I love how Jay sang it. I am not sure if it was Jay that made me felt in love with this song or the song itself that is off the hook...I think if I were to hear Jolin's version; it still wont sound as nice; cuz after all, Jay was the one who compose it, therefore he can better express the true feelings behind the melody of this song. And of course, Jay's singing is so much better than Jolin; its incomparable.

I heard a bit of Jolin's version from her concert where Jay came out as her guest...she didnt sound as good as Jay though; not being bias here, but its true...at least thats what i think

I agreed with you that this song is very soothing though, and the lyrics goes perfectly with the tune and feel of the melody. Its even more soothing when Jay sings it in terms of the way how he sings it with such emotion that you literally feel what the song is about without reading the lyrics...

I totally agreed that Jolin doesn't bring out the beauty of the songs Jay composed for her. I wont use the word spoil, maybe she just lacks the skills to glorify the beauty of Jay's compositions. I always think that Jolin's popularity for the most part is the credit of Jay's compositions. Don't think her singing will bring her this far if Jay didn't write her all those nice-ass, off the hook songs. I mean, she got the look (for a teen pop bardie-doll with not much substance personality) and the on-stage presence, but def got no real singing skills for me to consider her a real artist who can sing.

Jay's voice in Hai Dao was really cute :angel: ! I think Jay rapped/sang in most of his songs for Jolin(eg. 'shuo ai ni' , 'bu la ge guang chang' , 'Qi shi jing shen' , 'Hai dao' and 'Dao dai'.) Jay's voice in Dao Dai wasnt very obvious, but i could hear a man's voice, and that's Jay. 'Shuo ai ni' is also the same.

Is 'Wu Ding' written for Landy or Jacky wu? Why there are two versions of it, one by Jay and the other by Jacky?

I think it should be Jolin. Because from what I know, Jay wrote quite a number of songs for Jolin in her two albums, Kan Wo 72 Bian and Cheng Bao. I think Jolin should really thank Jay for writing songs for her to make her popular. Without Jay, Jolin would not be so popular now.

jay's song is actually all nice... but i prefer s.h.e... coz jay's song suits s.h.e voice... so the song sounds nice, nice lyrics, nice voice... as for nqmm, i think jay song are almost the same as nqmm's 1... so sounds the same... no feel bout the song... jolin had many of jay's song but i dun lyk hip hop type of song... prefer songs that is more smoothing...

Well, from another point of view, if it wan't for jay to compose song for jolin to begin with, she might not even get notice by people after all those law suit with her previous record company that she went through and all those other troubles. So jay somehow help jolin to get ppl attention again and build a solid fan bases, which then it'll probably keep buying her cd even jay isn't composing song for her anymore.

Anyway, i would still say that jay compose the best song for jolin most of the time by looking at how many of the song jay composed for her make it to the top in every charts. THough, some of the songs that jay composed for landy and SHE is really nice too.
