btw, the event i talked abt was MAA. We never have international music awards hold in TW. i'd like to join in cuz somehow Jay might be there, but no, i wanna "jia yo" for Jay ar. n super stars seldom promote here, its sad!

hi Ya Gina. My collegue is horrible and has a mouth of a dog. lol.The people in the office who know I like Jay always make fun of me and talk funny about Jay. *bored* Did you get anything from Boonsak??

Pam When I first came in I was a bit confused, too. We must have talked non sense in many of the threads. Well, it is what I expected anyway, thanks dear mod.

Hi ya jaysfolk I have seen you around jcnet for a long time and sometimes even thought you were Thai. For the MAA Event this year, it must be Thailand who play the host to this event cos we are one of the countries affected by the tsunami. Taiwan has a lot of potentail to host big shows, just b patient.

But you are lucky you are in the same country as Jay. How was Alfa music?? I really want to visit this palce and the room Jay used to write his songs. Lucky lucky you and your bro.

Happy Chinese to ya all. I wonder when jay is going to Thailand again?

Hey, everybody. I've been around here for awhile but didn't really post any thread. I just dicided to show myself up posting. I'm thai-chinese, but I study in US. Kinda confusing, huh? I don't have much chance to go visit my family in Thailand, except when I know exactly that Jay's going there. I know that's not nice. lol Well , nice to know ya all.

[MAA News] Quote only Jay's part from Bangkok Post newspaper on 9 Feb 2005

Taiwanese prodigy Jay Chou did not make the best song choice, choosing to sit at the piano for a rendition of Snail song, a laid back tune that dampened the crowd's upbeat mood.
Do you think Jay didn't make the best song choice ? No way even he sang behind the piano, he did show them the talent ! The song has its own meaning, if the reporter will know the reason of choosing, he won't write on Jay like this

trishee
02-10-2005, 04:14 PM
This reporter should do some research! I mean its posted everywhere on the internet why Jay chose this song. The man has reasons you know! Good ones too!
'dampen' everyone's upbeat mood? it kinda died out from the start Mister!

(AnJay, you have a nickname?) Some people in my family thinks he is good looking. But for me, Jay is way cuter...I saw the only first episode of Love Strawberry. I expected it to be an anime type thai series, but it turns out that it isnt, so ...i stopped. thats just it really. He's ok in real life I guess, if you come back anytime soon, watch MTV, he is on all the time.

So what is the proposed date of the concert?

trishee
02-13-2005, 08:25 AM
ok break free from the article for a moment....

DID YOU JUST SEE THAT???? (sorry Sean you wont be able to know) My friend called me up to go see Jay's interview on Channel 3...he is so cute!! He was on Unseen TV and I came replying to this the second it ended. Christina (the host) asked about him and his underwear and if he was wearing a pair right now and he said NO!!!! hahaha
my mom, who was at the TV was like "Arai wa???" i was screaming and laughing at the same time. Im gonna wait for this to be posted and then I'll download it to watch it again.
Oh he was asked about 'that special person' and he said it was his Mama! so sweet. and he was likes girls who have long hair and loves to listen to his music and with oval faces...thats 2/3 for me!! ok im just really happy right now...

Sean...do you need a transaltion for that...ok wait for it...its coming...

The first one, which is literally a green page with posts basically says...

Thai girls prepare to scream because Taiwanese heartthrob Jay Chou has a 90% chance of coming back to thailand and to have another concert sometime in March. Prices might be from 800B-2000B (20US$-500$) <hell when you put it in US dollars it looks cheap> the responses include, oMG! i wish this was 1000% true, the others hoped that he does te beat box thingy and bring guests like NQMM to the stage. another post says that Jay confirmed his own concert in thailand, but we are still waiting for the Pattaya stuff (i dont know if we should believe this though)

Now the other website says:
Its basically about The Pattaya Music Festival which will be held not far from mow, this time it'll be more 'International' by bringing artists like Wang Lee Hom (!!!!), Hanson, Orange Range (!!!!!!!) , and jazz band URB (?) to perform, they are still talking to Jay Chou (he's the highlight coz they have a pic of him!) about performing, they say if jay performs, it'll bring new light, perspective, and an enormous amount of young thai people to this event. they really want him here. Chances are that it'll be broadcasted on itv for thais and on MTV for the rest of the world. it'll take place from the 18th - 20th of March and the thai govt. will spend about 45 mill baht for this, they REALLY want Jay to come coz I guess they know how much thai people just love him. They want tourists to come to thailand again, to tell the world that the tsunami has done nothing to thailand's stability and tourist attractions.

hope i was of help

P'Puk Thanx for posting this great news. U've made my day :hugz:

Hi everyone :-)

Seems that i've never dropped by to say hi to you guys here but just wander outside this forum, hee hee.

Pamujung about the aritcle, i found it's so unfair to write about Jay in that way. It shows his/her stupidity for reporting something fault. How come he/she dares to write that! Anyway, just find out that i know that columnist who wrote the article, i will tell her the truth of Jay's decision.

Also, i agree with you that i don't want him to join the concert in pattaya as the atmosphere is not so good for me. Fans will be so exhausted since lots of ppl will be there waiting to see their idols.

However, i really hope that he'll come back in March for his full-scale concert!!! I do hope that the news will be 100% confirmed. But i just read in the news section that Jay might start filming his new movie in March, right? so if that news is true, then will Jay be available for the concert here? um...really don't like this kind of situation where everything is unclear!

As for the Unseen Tv program, ha ha ha... it's so funny for that question of underwear! now every ppl in Thailand know that he doesn't wear it, :D Jay is so so cute, i think he felt a bit embarrasing but yeah, he has to act 'diao' hee hee. I also like the part which he 'sigh' when he felt quite excited, hee hee, did he sigh because he was nervous when getting near Christina? eh..eh

pamujung
02-14-2005, 05:39 AM
Qingqing >.< gosh, you know the columnist, you should educate him/her now, and not even get the wrong piece about Jay again ! About Pattaya, not only fans but Jay will feel not good with the atmosphere, I'm sure

ahh.. Jay will film the new movie in March, how come he will be able to have concert in Thailand around March too, don't be tight himself with load of works again :worry:

Dang ! I missed Unseen TV program *sob*

Pamujung I already sent her an e-mail attaching the news of jay and snail song. I hope she would understand Jay now. But afterall, i don't think playing piano is something wrong coz the theme of the show is for tsunami victims so slow songs are suitable. I think what dampens the upbeat mood of audience were the cut and take by the MTV's director rather than Jay's music.

Oh..you missed the unseen tv? but i think there might be file to download later.

Anyway, there will be a tv program called Jay Chou Special on Ch7, 12.30 am. on 23 Feb. Just mark it on your calendar so you won't miss it. :-)

pamujung
02-14-2005, 06:19 AM
Jay has his own reason to sing Snail and he sang for Tsunami victims, didn't sing for himself to look good for the others's eyes. I hope there will be file to be downloaded *pray hard*

Jay Chou Special :excited: someone must record it ! Such an interesting program from the name :shifty:

Thanks for all the news. Man, I miss out a lot including the Unseen thing. My bf was in Japan at that time and he watched it on cable tv in his hotel!!!!

Yeah, I agree with Qing Qing and Pam about the Pattaya Music Fes thing. It is not suitable for youngsters to go THAT far to see Jay. The artists usually perform there are not THAT big and I think the venue is quite sucks. The organizer should have known that kids who are in Jay could not just travel there and watch Jay and be in the drunken atmosphere like that. I hope Jay denied it. But lately Jay did a lot of charity work, I don't know what he would say. But if he will definately come, I might have to check my schedule again.

He didnt look that embarassed to me, he gets questions like this all the time right? He was all cool and diao when he answered *i died when i watched it* but christina was nervous about it so I guess he was taken aback by that instead

Pamujung I already sent her an e-mail attaching the news of jay and snail song. I hope she would understand Jay now. you emailed the columnist? you're kidding!! when you get a reply....come report to us ok!!

so the Jay Chou special will be 12.30 am 23rd of Feb..someone please record it!! so it'll be the morning of the 23rd (night of the 22nd) or the morning of the 24th (night of the 23rd) gotta get this cleared up or I'll miss it!

concerning Pattaya...I dont think it'll be that bad...but of course it'll be very 'muah!' meaning messed up in thai. the reason they have it there is because they have it there every year, and they want to make Pattaya the capital of music in Asia. This isnt a surprise to me because the thai govt is aiming to make thailand the capitol of everything in Asia. Bangkok is the capitol of fashion in Asia right now. (yeah rite, what happened to HK??)

Sean--I love Electrico!! their music is very good...how famous are they in Singapore???? Please answer....I really want to know!!!!

Yah Thai government tried so much to make Thailand to be a central (or what you said the capital) of anything with the mess and WASTE I would call  Still Pattaya is the bad choice, not for the others to go but for Jay to join the program.. I think Jay's fans didn't strong like those JPOP's fans, not every Thai appreciate his work and talent, you know what I mean !

trish - QQ already said lunch time of the 23rd cause it is one of those religious day off thing. Pam also repeated it. Why you are still confusing....?

Personanally, I think TAT ( Touristism Authority of Thailand ) probably wants to do what they usually do for the past few years... organizing a concert that will attract a lot of people down in a tourist area. In Pattaya, one of the metropolitant cities, there are more tourist attraction; beaches, islands, mountains, temples, etc. and it will also show that Thailand still have many other seaside towns to welcome the tourists. Besides, they can use these celebs to help promote the Thai natural resouces without having to travel anywhere.

But I don't like Jay to go down there.... It is a mess, and the traffic is so so jam. I will pray hard for Jay not to go down there.

pamujung
02-15-2005, 04:56 AM

Sorry to post this up late. I watched a programme on MTV, Mtv presents the coolest pool by Sprite conducted during MAA Event.

The first artist you saw on MTV

Number 1. Jay Chou
Number 2. Titanium or something
Number 3. Bird Thongchai McIntyre

If there was a new award for " All time Favorite Artist " who would you like to give to?

Number 1. Jay Chou
Number 2. Cannot remember
Number 3. Usher

Jay is the winner for 2 categories :) The person you don't think would top the poll against singers like Bird, or Usher. I am so proud of Jay. :D

There is also a poll conducted in www.mtvthailand.com right now, asking whose performance is the most impressive in MAA. This is the score so far;

Jay Chou - 1496 - 23.4%
Bird Thongchai - 1972 - 30.8%
Simple Plan - 725 - 11.3%
Good Chalotte - 1394 - 21.8%
Rain - 106 - 1.7%
Others - 712 - 11.1%

Personally I think Bird's performance is nothing special at all. Is is the same like last year, a lot of dancers, wearing the East meets West costumes, mix of East meets West music. Nothing creative at all.

pamujung
02-16-2005, 05:50 AM
Thanks Jang for concluding that I saw it from the webbie too
I was shocked by the poll result ermm.. Bird ?! Anyway you can't blame Bird for gaining higer votes, may be because he is Thai people you know haha
Pretty sad for Rain, I kinda want him to gain more than that but can't vote for him either haha

02-16-2005, 10:03 AM
wow!those are very cool poll result u've shared us,Jang :excited:
I gotta vote for Jay (of course) He's the highlight of the show. But I wanna cast my vote for Namie and Rain as well. Their performance are both awesome.

jtayk
02-16-2005, 10:55 AM
It is a shame they don't provide a place for us to vote for Namie. I'd like to vote for her and Rain, too. Rain was very energetic and cute. lol. But I am sure from now on both of them will be more well known in Thailand.

trishee
02-17-2005, 01:25 PM
Oh yeah i saw the coolest poll also. i practically jumped when Jay was voted for the highest TWICe. I mean its pretty miraculous isnt it? I guess this is another reason why Woody likes praising him so much. (and really, jay deserves it)

Ooh I feel bad for Rain, i just guess that Jay is loved more. His show was very good actually, but it was the usual Im hot, lets dance type thing. I guess people didnt find that very impressive. More and more thai people are being converted into jay fans...Im so happy! :D :D

They're not very famous in singapore. To be honest, we don't really support our local music, that the primary concern. Electrico is a self-form band, all locals and true singaporeans. It happen that one of my good friend, who also form a band, is actually going to launch their singles in the coming march. They're second behind Electrico to release their music in stores. And of cos, both bands did perform on the same stage before and I would love to stress that the keyboard-ist (of electrico) is a female. Haha. she's so diao! Yeah, electrico music sounds cool, their songs are always on our local radio airways:D

How ladies, awaiting for Jay's arrival yeah!?

Thats so amazing, congrats to your friend, I hope their music comes soaring to Thailand, cos I would love to hear it. So your friend kinda knows them, thats awesome. I think the keyboard player is also very cool and pretty. But why dont locals support their own music? I think many Singaporean artists are talented. I mean like Pug Jelly, they seem like a lot of fun.

Because this is a Spreading out thread...whats been going on with the elections? When are the election battles are going to end? Politicians bitching about other politicians. Im getting sick of it. Dont they have better things to do? Like improve the country for example!

Trish Pug Jelly... Hmm, if you notice of their skin color, they're white. Hehe. I'm refering to our very own born-breed sporeans.

Hmm, that occured in thailand too? I mean, I'm getting used of the Taiwan political scenes.. and the conflicts between china-taiwan. I didn't realised Thailand has that too! And I thought the election is just over!?.. hmm.

Right, but the guitarist is Japanese...Oh whatever...lets just drop this. We are digressing.

the elections are over but the losers arent happy with the results. Attacking the winners any possible way they can so they can gain the title. YOUVE LOST!!! deal with it. But I am scared of dictatorship in the future. Taksin is gaining too much power, but he is decent guy and believes in democracy, so I guess the future is pretty safe for all us thai people.

fukakyon
02-22-2005, 12:54 PM
That's pretty decent. Yah, I read from somewhere that Thaksin is a man that believe in demorcary, so perhaps to improve and bring Thailand to another higher state of world status.

Yo ! Do you guys watch "Jay Chou Special" today ?! C'mon tell me what it's about because I always miss the program show
Hope some of us can catch up the program today..

Thai politics  I'm sick of it, not only Taksin but everyone involved. And if talking about Taksin government, I can make sure that he will gain more money and richer than last times. Now he will continue the privatisation of Electricity policy :worry: I never see or hear any countries do like this, not privatised on the non-profit organisation like he is going to do. Seeing Thailand go to hell from now :sealed:

Pam That sound pretty serious. Well, not being a citizen in thailand, I didn't know how well the thai government runs the nation. I'm not that interested in country affairs and politics, but at least I make sure I do equipped with little general knowledge of various countries's affairs.

Well, any member in any organisation protocol, his income is equally justified as his appointment in the organisation. The higher you are, the higher income you have, whether you like it or not.

People in the south dislike Taksin, Im not sure why, but I think because theyve set their heart with the Democrats since forever~~ Different from the people in other parts of Thailand, the rest is set to have Taksin for another term. And I guess their dreams have come true.

I didnt see it!! I was glued to the damn TV at 12.30 (lunch time) on Wednesday and it didnt come, then I checked jayonline.net forums and it said 23.00 or 23.30 that night so I watched for it and still it didnt come!! Thanks Jang for the news, I always wanna know who will come for it. And Puk Jie still have to go to PMF for Ken even Jay doesn't come haha poor her.

Hey Makoto from Japan, he's pretty hot huh  ermm... this name Dylan Kuo from Taiwan, sound familiar, is he acting in any drama on the show now ?

fukakyon
03-05-2005, 07:17 AM
Dylan Kuo used to be a model in Taiwan, with a towering height of 1.9m (or more). He then acted in the taiwanese drama seriel "Dou Yu" (Part 1 and 2), where the taiwanese group "F.I.R" songs are in the hit with the commercial effect of "Dou Yu". The drama is a huge success and that goes for the pop group too. Later on, he went solo and released his debut album, with his first hit song titled "Wo Bu Xiang Wo".

No more Jay ah! Hmm... it's consider as a good news though? Hahaha.
Electrico is going over, ohhh.. not too bad for a local band to perform huh. Watch out for that chick on the keyboard.

trishee
03-06-2005, 11:25 AM
Yeah kill me for this but I find Dylan Kuo kinda hot. And Alan Luo too...anyway (im a huge fan of Dou Yu 1 and 2) I mean Dylan is 190 cm tall! and Alan looks so cute when he dances...Taiwanese series are really good~
oh Dylan Kuo stars in The Outsiders which comes on Channel 3. He plays Ah Hao..his Give Up MV comes on all the time now.

oh James...? I didnt like him before but I kinda like his new album especially "Nai Took Took Wan Tee Chan Yung Hai Jai" (In everyday that I breathe) <is that right?>
Did you know that the director who directed Yi Fu Zhi Ming directed the video to that song? Thats why the shots were so good.

Hmm, I'm a little interested in thai pop songs recently. They're many great songs I have listened so far.. names like "Kon Mun Rak", "Jai Noi", "Ngao", etc.
Kon Mun Rak---is that the pop song by Ice?---this was actually a huge hit
Jai Noi...bodyslam?
Ngao....definitely Peacemaker!! (i love guessing games!!)

pamujung
03-06-2005, 02:12 PM
Oh he is from "Dou Yu" , not surprise he will come for PMF. I ever seen his face on TV but don't really like him. I think he has Thai look alike face

Trish > I don't know that song was directed by the same director as YFZM, and I never saw James's mv haha
Jai Noi - AB normal
Kon Mun Rak - Ice (you know he is a GAY :shifty: )

fukakyon
03-06-2005, 03:57 PM
Trish There you goes. You got one incorrect. 'Jai Noi' is sang by AB Normal.

I have utmost respect for this director. He makes great MV, great shots and screenplay. That why I always love to see his works and it happened to be he featured in almost all of Jay's MV. Diao!

trishee
03-07-2005, 11:36 AM
Right Jai Noi, by AB Normal. The song I didnt really like.
I liked Rao Ruk Kun (We Love Eachother) more to be honest
and hey! i got two correct...I got Ice and Peacemaker correct...and Ice is gay? I knew it.

that guy directed almost all of Jay's MVs? aw..thats pretty awesome.
The same guy also help direct Jay's second song (Ter Ru Tua Dee). but personally I liked the first more. (why do I know this stuff...I dont even like James that mcuh)

ok confession time...I have a huge crush on Xiao Zhu. I think he is so cute...its incredible. I hope his image isnt gay or annoying or egoistic or something like that in other countries. His album is real good (not amazing as Jay's but still...) He's coming to Thailand on the 20th something. Ahhh!! He is so cute~~ :excited: :excited: :excited:

Hmm, Avril Lavigne has been on screen quite sometimes, she loves to appear in various outdoor function, I suppose.

Xiao Zhu, aka Alan Luo. He confessed that he's quite metrosexual and definitely a good host. He can host well, cracks jokes and imitate. Oh man, I love the part especially when he imitated Jolin's dance moves (Kan Wo 72 Bian) on a variety entertainment show, that's so utterly hilarious! :D

trishee
03-07-2005, 03:33 PM
ooh....8 hrs of Avril Lavigne music and others too of course. Good luck to my friends (who are going). the bands appearing are ok, but id rather stay home thank you very much. :rasp:

Sean Yeah! Ive seen the clip where he dresses as Jolin and does the whole Pirate dance. I was like 'is that xiao Zhu?? OMG!!! He's pretter than Jolin !!!!" :D hahahahahahahahha :D

I know about the whole metrosexual thing, I dont like it that much though. Yeah its good that guys take care of themselves and stuff but just dont overdo it.

The thing I dont like about Alan Luo is that he paints his fingernails...I find that funny on guys. like ewww... I like the punk and gothic look, but not this. Heck, I dont even paint my nails.

fukakyon
03-08-2005, 03:55 PM
Trish That's hilarious when I read your post. It's just a constructive remark, don't take it seriously. It seem to Alan Luo is paying too much attention to his appearance or so, it's not neccessary a bad thing too. At least he still behave like a gutsy man and a vivid sense of humor, with the addition of his well-pricked appearance, he seem to be a good catch too. *lol*

trishee
03-08-2005, 04:10 PM
gutsy man - vivid sense of humor - well pricked appearance - good catch
hahaha you should be a guy critic!!! criticize yourself! :D :D

its so cool to hear he has a good sense of humor, he is also a comedian type thing right?
Another thing I feel that is funny with him is that he is an actor-singer-show host-comedian etc etc....I mean PICK A CAREER!!!!

ooh one more thing. Whats with his name SHOW??? I mean Alan is a good name...why SHOW??? it just seems funny to me.

fukakyon
03-10-2005, 02:05 PM
Trish If I'm not wrong, his most desired career will be singing, as he thinks that he can "show" out his potential or ability through singing. Perhaps "Show" is the identity for him in music industry.

trishee
03-11-2005, 12:12 AM

Ok this is such weird news...but I heard that tomorow!! Yes the 12th...is the 'Rahu' Day. (the black god or something) He is a mythological giant in Bhuddist stories and is fateful to play a trick on all buddhists on the 12th. It may be good or fatal. Just be really careful y'all.
oh its claimed that Rahu also influenced the Chicken Flu andthe December Tsunami in some way. hmmm curious. :?

AAAHHHH!!! Xiao Zhu was so cute. I saw just one song he performed on TV. And he was so cute at dancing. So natural and everything. *drools eternally*

ANYWAY I think, just think that when Dylan Guo was performing 'Fang Qi' (the outsiders song) he ws totally lip synching. I can so tell. I downloaded this song way before this performance. And it sounds exactly the same. I never forget a recording! and there were times when he kinda reached into the crowd and the fans kinda pulled his arm and he lost his balance, but he was still singing fine. there's something real fishy going on here. I can tell. He's tall and cute and everything, but aint such a good singer if you ask me.

Jes123
03-24-2005, 06:51 AM
Jang, Thanks for telling me. I watched Xiao Zhu's performance. Oh, he didn't dance...

trishee, I don't like Dylan Guo. He can't sing "live". He is really popular when "The outsiders" just aired in TW.

fukakyon
03-24-2005, 01:34 PM
Pardon me to say this,
He's another "singer" who's only one hit song in his debut album. Further on down the road, he'll disappeared from music industry. Well, not everyone can be as famous as one established singer.

pamujung
03-24-2005, 02:00 PM
 Agree with you all, I don't think Dylan Guo is a good singer, the acting I also not so sure. I don't know why he is so much popular in Thailand, may be it's the promotion technique.

ermm.. anyone knows about the Book Fair at Sirikrit Convention (again) It will be held this weekend till the first week of April, but I don't sure which day. Anyone knows, please confirm hehe I think I gonna go to buy some book.

Amante
03-24-2005, 05:08 PM
Pam, I think Dylan famous here because his handsome. Others think like that but not me. He's just ok for me. Oh...and I think his height is very tall, 190 CM. :glug: By the way, I heard he's very friendly like Xiao Zhu.

Book Fair at Sirikrit Convention, 26 March - 6 April, I think I'll go too for buy Korea fictions.

Trish, I'm crazy Xiao Zhu too! He's very funny. I really like when he tries to imitate Jay. Haha...that's so funny. I like Kang Xi Lai Le because him and Xiao S. At his signature event here, he's very friendly. He always smiled and shaked hand with every fans. He also looked at his fans too. Emm...(It's different from his friend, Jay. Hehe...) :shifty:

04-04-2005, 08:53 AM
Jes you probably saw the clip on kapook. He didnt just perform just one song you know. He sung I think 4 (not sure though) including Ji Qi Wa Wa (which was my fav). He danced then.

Sean please tell me you are talking about Guo Pin Chao because I think Xiao Zhu is alot more talented than what you are implying. I think the reason why Dylan is more famous in Thailand is because he is the 'pra-ek' in the Outisders (male lead) Thai people always loves the pra-ek. Same deal with F4. The most fav was Jerry. And people just go on and on about how hot he is. Thai people are so shallow sometimes.

D You read those Korean lovey dovey romantic novels too? I swear every girl in Bangkok is reading those. You got to meet him when he came? Oh thats awesome. He's real friendly right? If I get a chance to meet him I'll ask about Jay. I hope he doesnt take it the wrong way.

Who has gone to the Red Cross Fair? I hear its as crowded as ever.

fukakyon
04-05-2005, 04:52 PM
Trish That's understood. I mean it's often that the "Pra-ek" get the limelight first, that goes same for the lead vocalist of a new band.

Oh man, I watched news last night. Southern Thailand is under attacks again.
And they're even threaten to bomb up Bangkok too. Fu*k those idiots with their bombs!

pinkypat_6

I've gone to both red cross fair and international book fair. ^_^
the red cross fair sure did cause major traffic jam all around.

sean, there's a threat? no wonder at the international book fair, they were really strict about bags they had to x-ray big ones.

Bombs are going off daily!!! Just this morning I heard on the news there was another bomb in Narathiwat. I hate these terrorists. They have nothing better to do than hurt innocent people. What do they expect to get out of these things? Political Attention? Screw them.

Yeah pat, I heard about bag checking at the book fair too. I guess they were scared because it was considerd a big place for thai people to meet. Would be very sad if they actually planned to blow up the book fair. Think about the children.

fukakyon
04-06-2005, 06:23 PM
I mean those terriorists are contaiminated with crude ideas of blowing every part of the city or the entire country. Those cowards! I curse and swear as they install bombs everywhere. They've no brains, no mind and simply no heart!

Security is regimentated strict and tight in Thailand now.
So bag-checking is one of the routine they've to do for safety checks.

pinkypat_6
04-07-2005, 04:21 PM
trish, if they did do it that would be so nasty, just thinkin is awful...they said they were gonna blow up siam but there was nothing.

they really are cowards who dun have brains

Current Events

1: If any one hasn't heard of this, around June(correct me if I'm wrong), Thai citizens are supposed to be using ID smart cards instead of the old ID card we get when we were 15 years in age. This Smart card will be given to a person when they are born. So, this means that they won't be geting and ID card at the age of 15 but on their birth. The ID Smart card will record personal informations about the card holder such as birth certificates, insurance, health records and so on. It will be very convinient to hold all personal info ready to use any time rather then having to take with you folders of info.
The problem people worry about in these cards are that, will they be safe enough with personal important infos. Priminister Taksin said it would be safe.
They are now keying in informations and other acess for everything to work out properly.

Comment: I heard it in such a sudden. I think most people don't know much info about this yet and how are they suppose to make us use it. The government just comes out and annouces that, from this June on, Thai citizens will be using ID Smart cards, That's it.

2: There was Bangkok Music Festival and SanamRatchamangkla yesterday. The government wanted Thais to be happy people so the concert containing more than 100 Thai singers/bands was held.

I was watching this Count down to Bankok music festival on tv which was interviewing some people, they said something like they also wanted to set a new guiness record. I confused me on what record they wanted. Mabey, the most people to gather up in a concert (they planned out that aprox 100,000 would come and Priminister Taksin expected/wished for 200,000 up) or most singer/band performing in one concert...whatever Other points that this concert was helds was to also promote Bangkok/ Thailand. They also shot the live concert to other countries too.

They were very concern of safety, not letting people take in cans/bottles of beverages only allowing paper cups or plastic cups/bottle. All kinds of weapons and belts with metel heads were not allowed. They also reccomended no back packs or big bags because they will have to check you bag. The total of 3,000 police officers were to look all over bothe in uniforms and not.

Yet, safety was secured all over which I think they did a great job to prevent danger in anyway, as Trishee said in the other thread that, there is still people getting involved in gang fights. Wonder if they used any weapons?

comment: If I didn't open the tellie yesterday, I wouldn't have known. Is it just me, or did they announce/spread out this news for some time but I don't know.

Oh Pat, I never know about new ID smart card or whatever they gonna call  This June hmm.. that really close and I bet most people still didn't know about it lol It sounds good to have all info store in the same place/card but also have lots of disadvantage to carry only one thing, not talking about if it was stolen or lost somewhere. My friends alway lost their pocket and that mean their ID citizens, still didn't know what is the point for this breakthough  or just wanna follow some country that already used the ID smart card.

So the BMF, there was no any violence occurred right ?! That is unbelievable ! Anyway they still have their hands and feet, no weapons need to flight haha

Really? no violence at all? Thats impossible considering I saw a clip on local TV of some policemen bossing these teenage boys around. Many of them were running and stuff...Im not sure what happened and Im not sure if it was from this event or not. Either way, Im glad no one died this time.

And what about the guinness record? I dont think there was a record. Alot of people went, but not enough for a record. Well, Im glad they tried.

As for the smart cards, I think its a good idea but how is the government going to make and distribute these cards to every Thai citizen by June? Thats impossible. There are like 63 million citizens and new ones are born everyday. Its a good idea, but it needs to be better thought out.

The ID cards, safety is what people cared about. I think they would have personal access for the card holder like mabey fingerprint scanning(this might be too much but I heard of such somewhere). They should have some sort of security to prevent others having acess to the card if in the case that it was stolen. Anyway, it holds all important infos of you so there musn't need to worry much about others getting all your personal info as easy as that.

I forgot the fact that, they wont be making all 63 million people use the card at once. This June, about 12 million were suppose to start try useing it. If it all went wrong, this ID Smart card thingy might not be used yet. heee...silly meh!

There was gang fighting as you saw on tv, trish, it was on the daily news the day after the concert.

Why am I so into current events at the time? I'll be the news reporter for the time...heeeezzzzz

I see, they will launch the ID smart card system only in BKK first and see how it works before let all people in Thailand to use it, that make sense. About the security, the fingerprint scan is a good idea but I think it's too difficult to handle, may be they will use the password system like ATM in accessing the info.

Pat > You wanna be reporter eh ? Keep doing the job hehe Anyway did you hear news about Education ? It's about using 50% of GPAX in the national entrance exams, I heard some but don't know it was confirmed yet.

Now I'm such into the Mobile Operators War :shifty:

pinkypat_6

It sounds to make sense using the smart id card only in Bankok first. Yeah, the thumb print scanning and stuff might be complicated, but who knows, there are mobiles that use thumb scans of the owner to acess so why can't there be thumb scanning to acess to personal infos. I think the password cus some people can know your password making it not as safe as fingerprint scanning. I just don't think they'll be using the password system cus the card will contain so important infos. If someone lays hands on the id card, they can do so much affect then having your ATMs.

Yes, Pam, I've heard of it. But...50%? I thought it was only 20, I don't know but there is a posibility of having 50 percent of GPA.
It is confirmed by the government that the coming up school year, which is school year 49(Thai year 2548 or year 2005), Universities will start using the admission system in taking students in, using three parts of points(I'm not that sure about the group of subjects included) from what you learn in the class room. If this system works, universities will be given full power to do admission on their own without having anything interfering.

There was this guy who came to explain to us students at my school how the education system might be for us and it was exatcly like what The government had just announced.
If I'm correct, the first part of the GPA comes from five main subjects; Maths, Science(all kinds), English, Thai, Social studies all in the amount of 50%(not sure if 20-25% or 50%). Second comes from group subjects; Thai, English and Arts. The third part I've forgoten.

LOL, I'll try to keep up with my news reporting. heez

PAT- does this GPA thing apply for the international section too? Im applying for Chula next year and Im wondering if it'll affect my chances.
My GPA isnt LOW but it isnt HIGH HIGH either (I hate those ppl who NEED a 3.9,makes me wanna puke) Im thinking to apply for the inter department because I cant compete with those from thai schools, and i want to learn college in english. Do you know???

I'm sorry, I haven't a clue. You'd need a professional to advise you on this trish. I'm not sure if the international courses involve but the best you could do now is keep your grades as high as possible cus it will bring you benefits.

I'm sure for Entrance exams, the same rules apply in every school that means if you gonna take Entrance exams, the 50% GPA in 2008 will need even you are in international school.

Pat > yup it's not immediately 50%, the next year will be 20% and then 30%, the last change is 50%.

Edit : Miss Universe 2005 contest was held in Thailand and for this year Miss Universe 2005 is Natalie Glebova of Canada.

ฺำำI've Been away long...this thread should be updated often you know...I can't really be the Reporter here anymore cus I don't live in Thailand anymore...I won't know what's hot...what's not or what's goin on in Thailand...

Lemme make alil spark to start off...

1. The Suwannaphum Airport...
which will be known as the biggest and mabey bestest airport in asia has already opened...though as I've known, it is not completly 100 percent finished...

2. E-passport...
It is said that Thailand is the first country in the world to be using Electronic Passport.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Thailand had all the Thai Embassies and Conculate-Generals in each country set the system since the begining of the past August and they have been using this system for making people's passport for around a month now.

Opinion: Since my mom's working at the consulate-general here in Penang...I know this stuff...I even had my new passport made with the new system cus the old one was lost.

The process of making E-passport from what I see at the consulate-general is that they will need to scan your fingerprint, key you information into the computer, take you picture, burn your information down to a CD and send it on to make the passport. The process takes longer than making normal passports...it takes like 3 weeks or so(good that they hurried mine so it only took about a week)...E-passport might make people think it's gonna be fast huh, well mabey it cus they've only started using it so it might need time to see mistakes and improve it.

I think the passport has around 50 pages. The page containing you info is a plastic-like sheet. They say, when you have this passport, you won't have to make a new one unless it got lost...I'm not quiet sure but I guess 50 pages will last long...
---

I've got something I want Thai people to go read...it's in thai.
Here (http://nutik.exteen.com/20051005/entry)

I read it in my friend's Blog and though it wouldn't be bad if you people get to read it too.

It's a kind of prediction or a warning for bad things that will happen in Thailand during around the 11th October and on.

There's nothing to actually support what the article says is true or not.
It can really freak people out. I got kinda freaked when I read it, it's so horible...some of them seems to be no posibilities that it will happen but some are...

They say there's gonna be another tsunami...a Tornado will hit Thailand...see the posibilities of that...I mean like for an example if a Tornado which is quiet rarely to happen in this region is to happen, wont there be some kinda forcast or warning sent by those country with tecnologies to forcast storms...

I dunno...when I was still in Thailand, I've have heard or warnings sent though that there would be an attack at Siam Square and stuff and it never happend so this is mabey some fun people are causing.

Reading this, you don't have to belive, I don't think I do either...but having read this is more of a benefit that not reading at all. Let it be kinda a prepare for a worts-case senerio or something like that.

oh and, anyone know whaat they are predicting to happen in two years time? (2551 thai years)

Pam...I Think she's pretty too..and she's from Canada...heehee the country where I lived in my childhood.
