Winter holidays is coming up .. 2.5 more weeks of school :D So excited! And lately the weather has gotten soo much colder :crazy: I heard Burnaby and the higher elevation area snowed?! Did anyone see it??

Viv, I don't like coldness that much either because it makes my skin so dry. >_< And my skin is like cracking too if I don't constantly drink water and wear lotion. But sometimes I prefer it over the summer because when it's too hot, Ifeel tired and I don't want to do anything.

I know, it always bother me when people tell me that they went to this amazing concert in Vancouver. And that was when I first knew about Jay. But I didn't really bother.
His tickets range up to like 300-400 dollars I think. He's not going to perform in Vancouver for this concert tour. -_- Why?!

How was spring break everyone? I was on work experience on the last day of spring break! I went to the Art Institute for their annual work experience program at downtown. It was much fun!

could you guys tell me something about it? like how many years of high school and university are there? are there any public examinations and how are the requirements to get to college? and anything i should know about living there? :shy:

i know that there are a lot of Hong Kongers there so i think it wouldnt be difficult for me to get used to it... but anyway i am a little afraid.. :wacko:

About the education system, there's 5 years of high school (Grade 8-12) And about 4 years of University, depending on what you are studying. Grade 8 is equivalent to Form 2 in HK. In Grade 12, there are mandatory Provincial Exams that is worth 40% of your overall grades. Grade 12 is the most important year for you (in order to get to University or College). Requirements for Uni/College really depends on what area you want to apply for. For example, Sciences requires two Grade 12 Science courses, Grade 12 Math course etc. And I believe English is mandatory for all Uni and College. Some Uni and College requires students to get a certain percentage in English 12 in order to be able to take an English course. But it's okay if you don't have that certain percentage, you can take another test,LPI. I am not too sure about this but I also heard that if you haven't taken English for a certain of years, you would also have to take a test called TOEFL(?).

Yeah, that's pretty much all I know.. if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Yeah, I think you'll definitely get used to Vancouver. The area I live in is like a mini HK haha. :tongue:

MAL should have it within the first week since they are pretty updated. I checked their website (http://malmusic.com) and it says $20 so I guess it should be around that price. :tongue:

Oh, and other Chinese cd stores I forgot to mention.. MAL at Metrotown and MX^2 at Lansdowne Mall (Richmond).

From my experience: The one at Parker is about $1-$2 more expensive compared to MAL. The one at Yaohan is a little cheaper compared to MAL but their cds takes awhile to arrive but still pretty updated. They have really good posters there too ranging from $5-$10 . :happy: Oh, and posters actually isn't that expensive.. all the stores usually sell it for about $5-$10 so don't worry hehe.

Yesterday I went to Parker's cd store.. and they sell this gigantic Jay Chou poster for $7 and it comes with a tube too. Gigantic as in bigger than the normal size one. They also had the November Chopin's cd cover one.. different from the one sold at MAL. So if anyone is interested, check it out! :tongue:

My dad came back from Shanghai yesterday (where he works). He brought back a bunch of CDs and posters, air force ones (surprisingly not fake!) and 3 pretty new coats. I can't wear my favourite one because it's suede and faux fur, and it'll be RAINED ON~~!!! :-x

The thing I hate about rain is that the puddles make my turquoise suede Pumas dirty. But then again...we were so close to the record! Might as well have rained a few more days. I would've have minded that much.

Elisha: My high school offered IB courses.. I took an IB course in grade 11 .. and I also had friends who took them in grade 11 and 12. I think one advice is.. do it only if you are really confident because some people I know really regret it.

canuck_girl39: I am not sure if it's because the founder passed away but I heard about not having it like last year. The reason was because TVB won't be sponsoring it anymore since TVB aren't making much money from sponsoring them. I was at the SUCCESS office 2 months ago, and one of the people there told me they won't be holding it too but he didn't say why.
