Hmm I am still not sure if I am going to the concert though coz the stars that are coming aren't really my favorite stars.. my friend asked me the other day.. and I sorta said no. but.. we'll see coz if she decides to go but has no one to accompany her, then I'll go with her  Oh, I heard the MC will be Eric Tsang.
Good Luck with your exams, Karen!
And Hi memei! Welcome to the Canadian thread!
htruc

Hey! I'm back people. LOL.
moon_nebula: Yes, exams are coming soon. It'll be this coming week and next week for me. At least two out of four of my exams will be in-calss which means I'll have more time at home sleeping. Man it's going to be difficult to cram all that stuff into my head. When second semester starts, it will be more relaxing. :bleh:
panda_shine: So, when is this GALA? I heard on the Fairchild that Leon Lai, Miriam Yeung, Yumiko, Cookies, and Eric Tsang will be coming. The stars doesn't seem to be as good as last year. I don't really like any of them actually except Eric Tsang, he'll probably do something to embarass somebody. But I know it will be on TV on February 20.
Hey memei! Welcome to the thread!
Well I probably won't be on much, I got to cram for exams!

01-30-2005, 05:16 AM
htruc, Good Luck on your exams!!! Add oil! I am in a linear school system so I don't have final/provincials until June but I think semester systems are wayy better coz you don't have to cram all your subjects at once.. And I think the GALA is on the 12th of Feb.
This thread has been really quiet lately ^^;
htruc
02-01-2005, 06:30 PM
panda_shine: Thanks for the good luck, it really helped! :hugz: I knnow! It sucks to have non-semestered school. :console: Thank goodness all my exams are done. Now I have 2 days to relax. :prop:
Yes thread is so quiet. Everybody is studying for exams??? Good luck!

Hey guys!
Eric Tsang...as in that short guy? :? Ohhhh Miriam is gonna be there? She's so cool!!! I used to be in love with her :-) But then Jay came along, and I only have room for one oogle over
Yay exams are done!!! I hope this thread will be more lively now that exams are over... you're so lucky htruc! I had all my exams during exam week...I only had today to rest  But I guess it's better than nothing...
Aww...poor Karen jie  I don't like the idea of unsemestered schools...I can't imagine having like 8 exams all at once  But I guess both have their good points...like my teacher told me you get to learn more when you're in an unsemestered school
Oh btw, exams were a total disaster for me  Haha...so sad. Oh well. I'm just so glad they're over! Time to work harder for next semester...
htruc
02-04-2005, 05:20 AM
Yes! Eric Tsang as in that short guy. I heard Nicholas Tse will be in the GALA thing too.
LOL! Miriam? than Jay? I'm like you, there's only room for one, and that's Jay. I started adapting this one idol thing since 2003. Hmmm...now let's see, first it was Richie Jen (I don't know what I was thinking back then, Final Fantasy X and X-2 (Yes =P, it was a nice story with Kumi as the singer), than it was Edison Chen (Yes, I also don't know what I was thinking) and still now, and somebody I won't regret idoling is over beloved Jay. Yes, I don't like Edison Chen anymore, too much rumours/gossips about him and I hate the way he talks.
moon_nebula: Welcome back! Don't worry about the exams, its over. If exams are worth about 15-20% of your mark, and you did anokay job it won't change your mark that bad.
Well, I got to go now. Good night!
panda_shine
02-05-2005, 08:20 AM
Karen: And about linear school.. yeah I guess you don't learn as quickly as semesters.. I just checked my finals/provincial exams date for June.. and I have 5 exams each day in a row. *horrified*
Aww, hope u didn't do as bad as you thought u did!!! :console:
htruc: And I really like your banner set. So attractive!
oo Eric Tsang.. I think he has relatives in Vancouver.. not too sure.. but I remember I saw him once at a local mall. yeah Nic Tse is coming too and Bobo Chan as well!
Hmm I don't think I've ever idolize another Chinese celeb as much as Jay before... well actually yes.. Alex Fong. Hehe. But I still really like him at the moment.

panda_shine: Thank you. I actually figured out how to download the font and actually use Photoshop editing it the way I wanted. I like yours too. I like the Louis Vuitton blended in with BoA.
Well yea. Did I mention I got Grandeur de D Major? I'm trying to read it, half way through. BTW, this weekend I went to Pacific Mall and I got Jay's concert DVD. :excited: And yes, Pacific Mall was packed. It was a mob mall!!! Parking was horrible and the mall inside was horrible, packed and packed! First I went to Music Headquarters and asked, they said the VCD and DVD was sold out. Than I went to Broadcast and the DVD was also sold out. And then I thought my dreams were shattered because those were the only places I can think of that sold original copies. I thought I was going home empty-handed. Until, I decided to walk on the right aisle (the one towards Market Village) and than I saw Jay's DVD in the display box and I rushed right in to buy it. :yeah: Plus tax it was about $28CAD. I watched it yesterday and it was cool. If I wasn't mistaken Hei-Long (Jay's friend) was singing, LOL, that part was hilarious because he was singing 'opera' style in the song Rice Fields (Ti Tian). And he isn't a singer too, so I was laughing all the way. :lolabove:
Edit:*Sigh* Where are you guys? Well I wanted to know if anybody heard a rumour going on about Hacken Lee. I don't even know if he had a concert here lately. But what I heard was that he had a concert here lately and that he was on stage complaining about the lightings, sound system, and almost everything else that the audience threw stuff at him. :glug: I think it was those fold-up chairs. :chair:

oops.. I almost forgot about this thread :shy: !
htruc, I like your banner set once again hehe. I actually haven't heard about Charmy Kitty until recently when I was looking at a Yes magazine.. and I thought it was soo adorable!! and for some reason, it really reminds me of that cat from Disney. Hmm I forgot what that one is called!
And wow the DVD is pretty cheap. Here in Van.. they sold it for almost $32 (including tax).. so I got the VCD instead.
And about Hacken Lee.. I am not sure if he did a concert in Toronto.. but I don't think so?

Hi everyone! It's about time I post eh?
I went to Lansdowne, Parker Place, and Aberdeen during the Chinese New Year days. htruc, I got Grandeur de D Major as well! They finally had it at Poly! It's so worth it! Cost me about $26 I think? I also got the DVD! It was $29. My mom was very hesitant when she bought me those things but I told her that it could be my early birthday present. :D Aberdeen was packed! I think they had like a big sale at this store...beauty products maybe? Just in time for the new year!
Hacken Lee, I remember that he came to Vancouver last year (I think). He's a good singer!
htruc
02-17-2005, 08:58 PM
Yay! bethie_me and panda_shine, you're back!
I was watching Fairchild on Sunday night and they showed the Aberdeen Centre and the thing they were holding up. No offense though, but the 5 or 10 minute (Which ever one) comedy act was not funny at all.
Oh yea, did any of you Vancouver residents go to the Gala? I saw the commerical on TV.
panda_shine
02-19-2005, 02:58 AM
oo Beth.. did u go to Aberdeen on Sun? Coz I went on that day and there was this huge line up to this beauty store too. I was like whoah. I saw the Grandeur D Major book too at Parker.. but it was like $27 without tax~
Oh htruc, yeah I watch the Aberdeen show too but it was quite boring hehe. I was there that night but I only stayed for like 20 mins or so..
bethie_me
02-25-2005, 08:25 PM
Karen jie, yes I was at Aberdeen on Sunday. I was going to line up to see if they had anything that I could buy for my mom for Valentine's Day but the line up was just ridiculous.
Hmm, the Aberdeen show? Was it airing on TV? I only stayed in Richmond until Parker Place closed.
I didn't go to the Gala. I watched it on TV last week and I was kinda glad that I didn't go. It seemed so boring. Unless I get a table seat, then I'll probably consider going, haha. Everyone's singing was so bad! I was quite disappointed. I saw Joyce (Fei Fei's daughter) performing and I thought she was adorable!
htruc
03-01-2005, 07:22 PM
Where has people been lately??? Well, it probably includes me, too.
I saw the part where Fei Fei's daughter, Joyce, was singing. But it looked like she lip-synched. I saw her singing at the wrong key and some parts where her mouth wasn't even close to the microphone. Can anyone clarify this for me? This Gala seemed more boring than last year's one.
:hmm: Is it only me, panda_shine, and bethie_me sticking to this thread? Am I the only Ontarian here?

Hi Beth & htruc  I am here^^ .. yeah htruc, unfortunately it seems like we are the only people in this thread  I find it quite odd though coz I am pretty sure there's my Canadian Jay fans then us three :hmm:
About the Gala, yeah I heard it was kinda bad/boring  but I didn't watch it on tv either so.. I am not sure! About Joyce, I didn't know she was there until the following day when people told me. She was suppose to be the 'mystery guest' .. btw, what song did she sing?? Coz I remember one time I watched this other show, and she sang Britney Spear's Baby One More Time

Wow, nobody has touch this thread in a long long time. Where has everybody gone? I can see that the Vancouver thread is quite quiet too. I also checked, the Southern one has been quiet too. Where has all the people gone too? :? I almost thought this thread was lost.
Well, it's March Break for me. I hope at least some of you will have time during March Break to come and drop in and say hi. I have too much math homework and I also have Co-op, which doesn't give me too much time to stay at JCNET.
Hehe...I got a new cellphone, Samsung A680, now I just need to learn how to download ringtones and sceensavers of Jay's onto my phone. Does any one know how? I can get the URL to load, but I don't know how to save it on to my phone.
Well...yea...ummm...I guess there aren't much too say. I'll be back whenever I can.

Hi! I am glad you dropped by! I almost forgot about this thread.. until you made a post! I am on my March Break as well! I don't really have much to do actually .. only English Project due after the break and English & Math Tests
What kinda co-op are you doing??
And aw you are so lucky that you got a new phone! I really want the Motorola Razr V3 :brows: but it's kinda expensive ><" Mine is with a 2 year contract so I gotta wait for about 1 more year .. before I can get a new one. To save the wallpaper and ringtones.. I think you gotta send the files to your phone via internet? ..eh Sorry I am not sure how
htruc
03-25-2005, 05:02 AM
 Phew! Reply was just yesterday and not like weeks after.
What kinda co-op are you doing??
I'm doing an interior design related co-op. My placement is at Baywood Homes (www.baywoodhomes.com). They're a company that builds new homes. I work as a home decor assistant.
My dad kept on telling me that I should get that phone. But it's too expensive and not really my style. It's kind of big. But it's super slim. I wanted to get the Panasonic X400, but the connections don't work here, the phone is not suitable in Canada. I really wanted that phone.
Edit: This thread is slowing down again. Well, for any fans of Alan Tam and/or Hacken Lee, they are going to have a concert in Toronto. Again, the Air Canada Centre. I forgot the date, when I see the commercial again, I'll update my post.
Edit 2: OMG! This thread still has no reply. Finally heard it after watching it so many times. It's on May 11, 2005. Time? Don't ask, they went by too quick. I'll try.

Hi! OMG haha I'm so sorry...I haven't posted in over 3 months... :shy:
htruc! That's so awesome, your co-op placement. I'm signing up for co-op right now...it's for summer though. Hopefully I'll get in  What do you do as home decor assistant?
Hehehe...all this talk about cellphones! Hm, I don't even have a cellphone...cause I would probably not need it if I had one...so better to save money :D But there are so many pretty ones these days
It's so funny how my friend wants to go to the Alan Tam and Hacken Lee concert so badly, but he's going to a Queen's university trip during that week...I like Hacken Lee, but the tickets would probably be too expensive  and the non-expensive tickets would probably ensure crappy seats
Hm I was never much of a forum person...JCNET was the first one I've ever been part of, but I joined this other one recently...and let's just say, because of it, I missed JCNET a lot! So contrasting...JCNET is so...organized, so polite, and full of so many nice nice people  I missed you guys!!!
panda_shine
04-02-2005, 06:36 AM
htruc: oh wow that sounds like a very interesting program! I wanted to do something like that too (except at our school we call it Career Prep) but it didn't fit in with the rest of my schedule so I had to drop it
Hi Karen!
Yeah, JCnet is definitely the neatest and most organized forum I've been too
About the Hacken & Alan concert.. yeah they are coming to Vancouver too! But I don't think I'll be going  I don't remember the date either but I remember it's a Saturday
moon_nebula
04-03-2005, 08:25 AM
Ohhh Alan Tam and Hacken Lee are going to Vancouver too? Cool! :-) Hmm...I remember them having a concert here like 2 years ago or something...or was that my imagination? Did they go to Vancouver too?
Hehe...I'm actually not really sure...but everyone fast forwards their clocks today right?
Yup, JCNET is the best! Especially the smilies :D All of them are soooo cute!!!
So....hehehe. Does anyone watch minutes to fame? (just curious)

Hi everyone!
Yes, I heard from my friend that Alan Tam and Hacken were in Vancouver like a while ago. I'm not a big Alan Tam, Hacken fan so I won't be going to the concert. But I do like Hacken's new album a lot. :D Especially the Superman song!

Hey guy! I haven't seen all of you for so long now. Still remember me? Well I haven't been on because of school but I'm glad its going to end in 2 months. Really busy! :glug: Well it calmed down (for now) but it was real tough for like 5 months. Hmm... I see things haven't changed here, not many new comers to thise thread? I'm glad we made it to part 3 though.
moon_nebula: Hmm... I think Hacken and Alan did come to Toronto (if that's what "here means=P) so I don't think it was your imagination. I didn't even know until my friend told me like last year. :D
htruc: Hey you got me too! I'm from Ontario too. Hmm, I'm not sure if you still remember me but we chatted a while back during the Summer in the Light of Million Hopes thread and 2 other ones. (I hope I got the person at least :shy: )
Ever notice all or most of the people that come to Toronto for a concert have it at the Casino? I wanted to go see Joey Yung and Miriam Yeung but I wouldn't be able to get in. I'd feel even worse if Jay came and had a concert there and I couldn't go! Either way I think it'd be too expensive for me to go.
Random: Is anyone watching the show Love in A Miracle (Ai Zai You Qing Tian/Oi Joi Yau Ching Teen) on Fairchild on Saturday nights at 8:50?? I'm just wondering because I remember before a lot of people watched Light of Million Hopes (haha I remember panda_shine and I would reply to that thread like every 5 minutes  ) so I'm hoping to have someone/ some people to talk to about this show because I really like it as well.
htruc
04-08-2005, 12:11 AM
Yes, I'm not talking one-on-one again, or to myself I should say.
moon_nebula: Hi! You're back. What do I do as home decor assistant? Help purchaser's pick tiles, paper work (including a tonne of photocopying and filing ), organize tiles/carpets/cabinets, punch numbers/codes into the computer, and other stuff. Oh that's cool, a summer placement! What kind of placement? You get one credit in this summer (July, only?) one, right?
panda_shine:  For co-op, it's good hands-on experience. Especially if you're in the field like design, or make-up/hair/cosmetology, auto and teachers.
bethie_me: Hi! I'm not a big fan of them either. My parents has a DVD of one of their 2004 concerts and it was hilarious when Alan Tam was singing Jay's Nunchucks. When Hacken and that other dude was introducing and concluding him was also very funny.
¤ . 2 . o . o . 2 . ¤: Hi! Welcome back! Don't worry I still remember you. I watched Love in a Miracle. It's a nice storyline. My mom borrowed it from a friend and I watched most of it with her. I cried  during this drama. It was during the March Break that my mom borrowed it so I stayed up with her to watch it, but when it came to the morning, I'm still in bed and she starts watching it. If I blurt too much I might spoil it for you guys. Well so far, I think you guys have watched up to where that b***h (Lee Heung Come, LOL mind my language and my literal pinyin) borrows the lady to have babies as her grandchildren. And that blind lady that'll be on this week is hilarious and scary at the same time. If you want me to spoil it, I could.
- - -
Yay! It's live again (at the moment)! And yea almost every celebrity goes to Casino Rama. The Hong Kong Band, Beyond, is coming too. I think they are also at Casino Rama. I'm not a fan of them, but too keep Torontonians who are interested. My second cousin went to Hong Kong and got their signatures. Why? Why couldn't they get Jay's for me when Jay was in Hong Kong during that same time. Why? They said they saw him in a car while they, my cousins, drove by them. OMG!!! *weeps*

htruc: Aww you're so lucky! Hmm well I read the whole review at spcnet so I do know everything that is going to happen already.XD But I still want to watch it because reading it isn't quite the same as being able to watch it you know. Hmm yeah we're up to that part now. Argh I hated how the episode ended right when ManChing (Amy Chan) was about to untie YauYin's (Steve Ma) blindafold! I was sooooo in the moment and it ended! Do they know its each other later (like by untying the blindfolds) or will it remain a secret until gee I don't even remember when. :D
Hmm come to think of it, didn't Beyond just come for a concert like a year ago?? :? Oh man your cousins are lucky! Are they fans of his too or no? It must suck that they didn't get his autograph for you though. :worry: But don't worry, your time will come too. :wink2:

TGIF!!! :D The weather is really getting nice around here in Toronto, 10-15°C. I hope it stays like this for a while.

Yupyup, May's concert will be Alan + Hacken's second time here. Yeah, I am not a huge fan of them either.. I guess they are more like our parents' generation celebs
And yeah, I remember Beyond came to Canada before too.. Hmm. I actually quite like them!
2002, I missed you soo much!! I am glad you are back!
Love in A Miracle? Is this the one with Kenix Kwok?

That's cool that you are from Alberta.. I am currently contemplating on whether to apply for U of A or not :wink2:
hello panda_shine: i personally think that alberta isn't a very interesting place...maybe it's because i often find myself comparing it with asia ><'...i'm contemplating whether to apply for U of Toronto or U of Victoria- i don't really know that much about other unis though, so i think that i have to do more research!

panda_shine: Aww I missed you too! Haha, remember the good old days back in the Light of Million Hopes and Hong Kong threads? :D Umm no actually Love in a Miracle is the show that is on Saturday nights at 8:50, the same time as when Lights of Million Hopes was on. Hmm I actually like some songs (yeah like 2 or 3=P) of Alan Tam's. I listened to a Mandarin CD of their's (well kind of) but they weren't really my type.
b^la: Hey welcome! Glad you came along, the more the merrier. :wink2: Hmm I've been to Alberta before. I really liked it in Calgary. It was fun! :excited: Yeah I find myself comparing Canada to China quite often too. :D

So proud, that this thread is flying with colours again.
b^la: Hey! Welcome to the thread! University of Toronto, eh? That place is tough and hard to get in. My friend wants to go their or it's either McMaster. She wants to become a doctor so she's like over-working herself in school. She says that U of T has very competitive students there. And that if you do get a 90% or higher mark they average it down to like 50-60% and so if you get like a 70%, there's a chance you'll fail. She also said first year in Biology, there are over 2000 students in one class. It's going to be hard to learn anything in that class. Or just to even ask the professor a question. :glug: And it's pure paper work there. Well, I don't know anything about U of Victoria. We can leave that to panda_shine and bethie_me.
¤ . 2 . o . o . 2 . ¤: Yup, I watched yesterdays episode, too. In the end, KiuYee dies from a disease, they either didn't mention it or I never heard it. Yea, she is mean in the beginning, but she'll start to be more nicer to ManChing. It's so funny when she says, "Are you blind?" to other people to get them to start doing what she's saying, when she's blind herself.
Oh yea, the TTC is going on strike. Are any of you Torontonians affected? I don't take the bus to school, but I do to my co-op placement. But since they are going on strike, I don't have to go to placement or be stuck in school with my co-op teacher. :bleh: I'd cry if I'd have to stick with her for so long and help her run errands and stuff.

b^la: Hmm I've been to Alberta like once.. and actually I am not quite sure why I even want to go there to study coz the cold weather isn't really appealing.. but I am appealed by their Art and Design program and a few other reasons as well.
About UT.. yeah I heard it's a really hard school too (like the stuff htruc mentioned).. but perhaps it's easier to get in if you are from another province? I am not sure coz lots of previous grads from my school ended up attending UT.. and 2 of my friends got accepted.
About UVic.. I actually don't know much about it either .. but I believe it is popular for Faculty of Law.
Love in a Miracle.. oh I finally know which one you guys are talking about! But unfortunately, I don't watch it.
thanks for the info on the universities! i don't think i can get to U of Toronto by the sound of it- or i'll just have to work extra hard!! U of Victoria should hopefully be easier to get into because from the website the entrance requirements don't seem so high!...i don't really want to go into the faculty of law though..
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good uni in Canada when it comes to studying languages?

htruc: Yay they just announced they won't be on strike! I wouldn't have really been affected by it though. I'd just have to wake up a little earlier. :D Haha yeah its funny when she says that. But man is that lady ever mean to people. So strict. I can't believe we're up to episode 13 already! (well next week it will be) I love this show so much!!! :excited:
panda_shine: Aww... I was hoping you did so we all could have this discussion thing about it. Hmm... I think the weather in Calgary is a lot warmer and better than the weather in Edmonton so I guess its also where you're going.
b^la: Don't worry I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get in. It might also depend on which courses you're taking and your location and stuff. And sorry I don't have any suggestions because I don't know too much about universities here.

Hi everyone!
Sooo, talking about Alberta and Universities?
Alberta, I've been there once. We took a loooong drive there and it was very nice and scenic. The little towns are cute but too quiet for me. I guess I'm more of a city girl. I visited Banff and this glacier place and Lake Louis! I loved Lake Louis! It was so pretty!
I heard that they have good computer courses in Alberta from my friends! But I also heard that SFU Surrey have a really strong tech department and it even beats schools like Harvard!
I read that there's a new university in BC...in Kelowna? Sounds interesting and I guess they are building one there so that we can expand the population to areas that are less populated.
bethie_me: I totally understand what you mean about Alberta being too quiet! I guess I'm a city girl too >< and yes Lake Louise is really pretty- it's such a pretty blue colour~ I often wonder why it's such a pretty sky blue colour! In Banff, there are lots of Japanese people so I found that a lot of shops there had a Japanese 'feel' to it!
2002: It's ok that you don't have any suggestions- i don't really know much about the unis here either! Thanks for the encouragement too! ^^

oo this thread is moving fast.. and it's making me soo happy lol :D I remember this thread use to be dead for days and days
Happy 200th post 2002! LOL. Yeah about Love in a Miracle, I've only seen glimpse of it coz I don't really watch series where they dress in 'ancient' clothes >< Sorry!
Beth.. SFU Surrey.. hmm Tech One? And oh in the beginning I was thinking of applying to UNBC but the idea of living in Northern BC is
About being a city girl.. Yeah I think I am one too hehe! I don't mind being around the nature once in awhile but all the time would probably drive me nuts :D

I'm a TOTAL city girl too! So most parts of Canada wouldn't suit me. Oh I went to Banff too!!! I LOVED it there sooooooo much!!! :excited: I remember there was a lot of Japanese and Korean there. I'm a little confused now, I always thought Banff was in Calgary?? Oh well maybe I'm wrong. :D
haha thanks panda_shine, you don't like ancient series?? Hmm I don't really mind if its modern or ancient; as long as the storyline and acting is good.
Hey beth welcome back!
b^la: Hehe no problem. Hope you'll get into whichever university you want to! :wink2:
2002: hmm,i'm actually not sure if Banff is in Calgary- but it's definitely in Alberta!let me look it up...
hmm i'm guessing it's out of Calgary because all the tourism sites say 'to get from Banff to Calgary...' so I guess it's not in Calgary ^^
dazzlette
04-12-2005, 04:26 AM
Banff is not in Calgary. It's about a 2 hour drive from Calgary.. tsk tsk b^la, as an Albertan how can you not know that??
Lake Louise is really pretty, it's so pretty that it looks so surreal... when I visited Lake Louise my friend thought I was just standing in front of a huge canvas and not the mountains behind me... Banff is really nice too, except I kinda think it's a little too over comercialized... too many tourists and the things there are overpriced!
ahhh i know! i'm so ashamed of myself dazzy >< I really should know [especially cause I'm from Calgary too -_-"]- *goes into melodramatic mode* i don't deserve to be an Albertan!!
I know what you mean about Banff being too commercialized but it's such a cute little town- there are horse-drawn cart things which tourists can ride on!! :bounce: reminds me of those movies set in the England of the old ^^

Oh yea...I remember those little Japanese tourism shops in Banff! Pratically all the shops were souvenir shops! I really liked the big hotel that they had there. It looked so pretty!
I wanted to go canoeing in Lake Louis so bad! I couldn't take my eyes off of that place!

 Hi guys, well girls [i]*search last few pages, it's all girls* :bleh:! So happy to see that this site is up and going again. Now we don't have to wait until May or June for it to get running. You girls have posted so much that I can't even catch up to what you ladies are saying. Banff??? I have no clue. Just heard it before, I always thought it was north of Ontario. :imstupid:
Over the weekend, I went to Pacific Mall, and at the chinese dollar store in Market Village had a few Jay things. I bought some pins of his. I was going to buy all 12, but my mom wouldn't let me. They were only a dollar each, so I took 3 of them. I've pinned them all over my school bag. When I go there the next time, I'm buying it. And at another store, they had those scroll-posters of Jay. I think I'll get another one when I go. Dang, my room is going to run out of space. And a few weeks ago, I went to Chinatown and got a puzzle of Jay. 1000 pieces! But I'm done!!! :harhar:
:shifty: Well, I'm at my co-op placement RIGHT NOW! :whistel: I'm doing some filing, data entry and opening mail and stamping them. Well, what am I dong on? I'm not slacking off. I'm waiting for a person to get back so she could teach us how to use this program to enter numbers and stuff. She's out at lunch and nobody else in the building knows how to use the program. :glug: Still waiting...
Right now I'm thinking, should I change my mind and not go to Ryerson University. I'm interested in that International Academy of Design & Technology:unsure: School. It seems like it suits more of me. Because if I do go to IAOD (International Academy of Design & Technology), I can have a spare in Grade 12 and drop Calculus (Don't even know how to spell it).

About Banff, I went there once too but it was years ago.. so I don't really remember much. I just remember we went there by tour bus.. and went to the Rocky Mountains as well. It was nice and I remember going to this lake-ish spot.. perhaps Lake Louise? And it was so nice.. and there was a guy playing the picolo or something hehe.
htruc: Wow you got so many Jay merchandise! Yeah everytime I see a Jay poster that I don't have .. I have to get it.. and now I am starting to run out of room on my wall.
oo Ryerson.. I just found out one of my friend got accepted but her Mom wouldn't let her go. I felt so bad for her :worry:

Well, it's the end of another school year. Can you believe it? Well the weather in Toronto the past few days were like extremely hot, feels like 40C. After the rain it got cooler. But I want warm weather. :shifty: How is it in Vancouver or any other cities in CANADA??? Fellow Canadians, where are you?
Oooh. I got a summer job at my co-op place. Cool, eh? =D
Exams, are coming up. Having one tomorrow, than on Monday and lastly Tuesday. My summer vacation officially starts on June 21, 2005 at 11:01AM. :shifty: Good luck to everyone who has exams? (That is if they see this before their exams )
panda_shine: So, how is it going? Aw. I feel sorry for your friend. I'm probably changing my mind now. Maybe I should think about Humer College or George Brown College. My supervisor told me that IAOD doesn't teach any things new. They only teach you about the colour and design. She said two-year programs are not good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CANADA TODAY!!!
Yay for Jay! Good for you guys for uniting for canadian Jay Chou fans everywhere. I just have a question: are there a lot of Jay Chou fans out there who do not speak Cantonese or Mandarin? Or who happen to be caucasian? Because I happen to fit both categories... I'm just curious because I've talked to other people about Jay. It seems everyone who's asian knows who he is, but no one else does. He should make a cross-over album in North America. Canada and the States could use a generous portion of Asian musical artists in the pop-music community.
I know the only time I hear Jay on the radio in Canada is when i play him on CHRW!

hello again  does anyone remember me? I forgot about this thread :shy: but i'm back ^^
yeah the weather has been great ^^ and it rained last night here in Calgary so it means that I don't have to do the gardening today XD i hate gardening with a passion! who else here as to do gardening?
I really haven't done much this summer- i've been engrossed in korean dramas >< kind of a waste of the great weather but they're too addictive ><
what has everyone else been doing this summer?

Happy belated birthday Canada!!!
Wow, it has been over a month since my last post!
We have new neigbours :excited:. Hi lvso, ask4more_jay, Jay_luver, AznLilFan! Welcome to the thread! (:shifty: Do not leave the thread, I demand you not to! LOL!) I'm Heather!
b^la:  I remember you. I'm at work! No time to post.
panda_shine:  You're welcome. I'm at work and going to work now. I got the job from my co-op. That's where I have been. The weather here in Toronto is gross! :bigyuck: The last 3 weeks most of the weather has been hot. Especially the first week of July, weather was like 39C plus humidex which made it 45C. Now that never ended for like days maybe up to 10 days non-stop. It rained a little only during these weeks, west of Toronto had thundershowers, but not here. It only made the weather more sticky.
I was going to post in the thread but I hadn't had time and before when the weather was roasting me, I couldn't stand to go to my computer and turn it on. There's no A/C in that room and it's always hot in my computer room. I practically saw mirages in that room.
This extreme weather is getting me sick. I'm in the building where it's cold and I would have to wear a sweater and than 'boom' when I get out it's hot. You can't do too much things in this weather.
I had the beach planned the last 2 weekends. I was suppose to go to the beach on Sunday, for the last two weeks, but when it got to Sunday, the weather boogie-man had to make it rain.
I just ordered my J III limited edition on YesAsia on Sunday! I hope there still some left. I can't wait to get it in the mail. :excited:
My lunch break is over, got to go. Bye!

07-26-2005, 07:41 PM
oo yeah I heard about the hot weathers in various places in Canada.. but in Vancouver, it hasn't been THAT hot.. just really sunny and warm  It hasn't rained a lot too.
b^la: I don't really like gardening either.. but this summer I planted 2 plants.. actually one has been there since like last last summer and it's still living :excited: I started watching Korean dramas too!! Which one are you watching or have watched? I've only seen Three Leaf Clover and Full House.. and a little bit of this other one I can't remember.
heather: oh yeah! I almost forgot about the co-op thing! I hope everything is going smoothly and don't get sick (from the weather) aww.. you are so luck you got the JIII.. tell us how it's like when you receive it! I don't think I know anyone who got it
heather: yay! thanks for remembering me!! hope you don't get sick from the extreme weather! I also hope that you will have a successful trip to the beach one day and do tell us about JIII when you get it!
panda_shine: I planted sunflowers like a week ago and they're already dying ><" I'm really not much of a gardener am I? I'm currently finishing off Summer Scent and I'll start watching Lovers in Paris and My Fair Lady soon XD Summer Scent is, well, not that great. It started off great but now it's just kind of dragging and repetitive so I want to finish it soon- 2 more episodes to go! I want to watch Full House or Sangdoo, Let's go to School because I want to see why everyone likes Bi Rain because at the moment I just really don't understand why everyone likes him :tomato:! I tried to download Full House but then it didn't come with subtitles so I didn't understand it- oh well i'll try to find a version with subtitles!

I was so curious and didn't understand either! :worry: but after I saw his dancing (and body) I was like.. :excited:  ..then I watched Full House.. now I am a fan haha.. Do you have the multicultural channel on your TV? panda_shine: I'll tell you how it is like when I get it... should probably be next week.
b^la: Thank you. How sweet, you planted sunflowers. I never planted sunflowers ever when I was a kid, heck I never ever really planted anything. I garden by just playing with the hose and water the grass and plant and maybe my sister. I'll also tell you about the J III too.

sing_dai, glad you became a Jay fan! :D About his new album, I think I heard sometime around October? I am not positive but keep visiting the News part of this forum, they always have up to date news :wink2:
hey everyone ^^ it's been really quiet around here lately :worry:
well, I went to Lake Louise yesterday- beautiful as usual...but I got kinda sunburnt though but only on the left side o.O...luckily it's not too bad and at least i'm not peeling ^^
I'm back to school on the 6th of Sept and I'm definately not ready for it yet- man this summer passed quickly >< soon it'll be all cold and miserable again : (

I don't think that Jay would perform in Calgary, personally. I think that he would perform in places with a larger Chinese population maybe in Vancouver or Toronto? Either way, if he does come, there would be posts about it here in JCNet : )

Wow.. I haven't posted in here for almost a month  Yeah, summer is over.. I start school tomorrow as well! And I am really nervous (and a bit scared) since I am starting university .. and I don't know attending the same campus as me.. let alone the same course/class as me!
b^la: I've been to Lake Louise when I was younger .. I don't remember too much except that it was beautiful hehe. I hope I get to visit Alberta again soon.. coz you guys have such great tourist attraction!
deificsouL: This thread is just for Canadian fans to gather and talk
 school has started for a while now- everyone enjoying it so far? I feel like a baby at my new school here in Canada! Everyone in my grade is 2-3 years older than me and the lockers here are kinda scary! In the UK, we just used keys but here, the combination locks are so complicated! I only managed to open it on Friday (nearly 2 whole weeks after school first started ><)!
The Terry Fox run was on Friday too- did anyone participate? I didn't- I'm not much of a runner ><
panda_shine (is there anything else I can call you?) : How's uni treating you? Where are you going to uni and what are you studying? Hope you're not too loaded down with work- grade 12 work is already too much for me >< I don't even want to think about what it's like in uni!
panda_shine
09-24-2005, 04:59 PM
b^la: You can call me Karen  Are you from the UK? Yeah, combination locks are kind of complicated in the beginning.. I remember in grade 8, I use to worry 'how I'll remember my combo or get it to open so quickly between my breaks?!' but after awhile, you get use to it..
And nope, I didn't participate in the Terry Fox run :shy:
Uni is pretty good.. except the workload .. things move a lot faster and I am trying to keep up! I am attending Simon Fraser University (BC) and in the program called TechOne (Applied Sciences). Wow you are only 15 and in Grade 12?? So smart!! :excited:
Ok I'll call you Karen then ^^ I'm Bryna by the way- although b^la might be easier to type! Anyway, I was born here but the last time I studied here was when I was 5 and lol we didn't have lockers back then! I've been studying in the UK but my parents want me to go to uni closer to home so I'm here for Grade 12 and then uni ^^
Yeah I'm younger than everyone else but I think that's because the UK education system and the Canadian system is different so that's why..I think I also skipped a year of kindergarten though lol xD
Wow, Simon Fraser! I heard that it's a pretty good university! Hopefully things will slow down for you a bit so that you can take a break ^^
Where are all the other Canadians? It seems like only the 2 of us visit this thread ><

 Hi everyone, I'm back! Just saw that I haven't post in this thread for about 2 months now. I miss you all. XOXO
I see we have new fellows, welcome sing_dai, deifisoul, and crAzyInLovE!
Yea, this summer ended very fast. I was working during the summer and I think I have spent all my money already. I just got a new computer and I also got my JIII. Phew, it came in the mail like 3 weeks after.
This summer in Toronto was hot, even after school started, the weather was still above seasonal average for like 2 weeks. Everyday was like a 'SMOG ALERT' day.
b^la: Hi Bryna! Wow, you're smart, you're 15 and in Grade 12, I'm 17 and I'm in Grade 12. There's like 20+ year old kids in my school. Well then again, my school has the most horrible reputation in the area anyways. You went to school in England, cool? Where did you live in England? Don't worry you'll get use to combination locks so well that you'll probably forget the number and just know it by the turns. That's me, I don't know the actual number , all I do is turn to how I think it should be. You even skipped a year of kindergarden? Nice. What university do you plan to go to?
panda_shine: Hi Karen! How's uni Karen? I still don't know if I should go to Ryerson or college... :shy: What area are you majoring in? Number 1836. Yup, I got my JIII! Thanks for asking.
Yea, don't really have that much time to post, too much homework. Calculus...
If anybody lives in the Toronto area, or heard the news, you've heard a lot about shootings in the Jane and finch area. That's where I live, I'm so scared to step foot out of my house and everytime when I walk past the house that the 4 year old got shot. Guns should be banned!!!
I'm not a fan of Andy Hui, but I think he's coming to Toronto, well the "Casino" (again?). I also think the 12 Girls Band are coming. They're kind of cool. I wish I knew how to play a chinese instrument, heck, I wish I even knew how to play the piano. Hmmm... Edmond Leung also came and 4 other TVB actors and actresses: Michael Tong, Joey Leung, Bernice Liu, and Annie Heung. I think they went to Vancouver too, right? Too bad Annie Heung took a late plane and couldn't be at Pacific Mall to sign some signatures like the others. That same day, I think Leo Koo, had a signing thingy too somewhere else. Bleh, why not JAY?
hello heather! it's nice to talk to you here again ^^ I was in Burgess Hill in West Sussex : ) It's nearly 2 hours south of London : ) Have you decided what you're going to do after grade 12?
About the whole uni thing- I really don't know where I'm going >< I haven't really started looking >< well I did start but then I got caught up in other things so I've forgotten everything -___- I want to do languages in uni though- any recommendations? I want to start Korean as well- well I've sort of started but I'm teaching myself so ahaha it's not great >< Looking for some sort of exchange or co-op programme so that I can go there as part of my course so I can learn from locals : ) My parents want me to do some sort of joint course- maybe like economics with languages but i hate economics!! So I don't know what I'm doing yet : P
Anybody in Calgary and likes AT17 or Chet Lam? They were going to come to U of Calgary apparently- I saw it from a poster...I don't know though- the event may already be over!
panda_shine
10-02-2005, 06:37 AM
Yeah, the weather this year is quite weird. Like last week, it was really warm in the afternoon. Around this time last year, I remember it was just always rainy!
Oh yeah, Leo Ku and those 4 actors also came to Vancouver. But I didn't go see..
I like Chet Lam! His voice and music is really unique/nice/relaxing.. but I don't really like At17. That's so cool that they are going to Calgary!
heather: You should go to Ryerson if you really want to! That was like my dream school hehe. What do you plan on studying there?? I am in a cohort program at the moment, so I don't get to choose my major until next year. I guess I am doing a bit of everything at the moment.
Bryna: Perhaps you can major in Linguistics? Same, I am not really a business type person.. so that's why I didn't take Econ or apply for Commerce and stuff..
I better get back to my work now.. have paper to finish and midterm to study
hello again  sorry for the late reply >< I always forget to check this thread!
karen: Yeah, I wanted to do Linguistics or translation or something but my parents say that I have to do something along with the languages because they don't want me to narrow down my options so quickly : P sooo I'm still trying to figure out what to do..well actually, I haven't thought about this a lot lately because of the heavy school work ><
heather: Calculus  ? That's something I can never do >< I'm just doing Pure Math  Ack, shootings near your area? Guns should really be banned! Be careful and stay safe!
By the way, have a great long weekend everybody and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hey!
I'm so, so lost! I don't really know which university/college I should go too. Too much preparations and too much applications... I plan to major in Interior Design. There's only two universities that offer this program: Ryerson and OCAD. The thing I don't like is that they're all downtown. I don't plan to live on campus either. And scholarships...OMG...I'm so scared now.
Karen: Good lucks on your exams! *cross fingers*
Bryna: Yea, calculus starts to get confusing now. I took Calculus because most universitiy programs recommends it. Plus, we don't have pure math in Grade 12 .
And also, HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
heather: i know exactly how you feel >___< we're getting university speakers at my school and i still haven't got down to really looking seriously at unis >___< and all the scholarship applications and deadlines  i've always wanted to do interior design! but i've never had the talent lol ^^ sounds like an interesting job!
Yep, HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone ^^

I was home doing homework for Halloween. My sister went out trick-or-treating with my neighbours, I heard from my little sister that the neighbours daughter was dressed up so cute, and so frightened when she saw a person in a Screamers mask. She's so cute. I should of told my sisters to take pictures. I have other pictures of her that I took somewhere. :hmm: *runs and go finds them* Here's one of them I took:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/trucheather/Katrina02.jpg
The left side is kind of dark, I don't know how to fix it up though. Wait! Karen, you're taking some photography class, and I've seen your photo manipulation talents. How can I fix up the blotchy yellowness?
Bryna: I know what you mean. I feel so lost. :bang:
Karen: Thanks Karen! I think we really need it.
Now I just found out Humber College offers a degree in Interior Design. Now I'm more torn since I live close to Humber. Plus, I have to pay $100 to pick 3 applications to universities only. Extras would cost me $35. And I think I have to many choices. :ranting:
Sigh... Well I'm going to change topics here. School is enough! :sealed: Curricular activities! Never joined one in high school. But this year I decided to join Yearbook Club. I want to make this yearbook better so I can leave high school with good memories. Last year's yearbook sucked! I mean real bad. On the spine (side) of the book, instead of Yearkbook 2004-2005, it said Yearkbook 2004-2005. That's the biggest and dumbest mistake ever! Plus there are too many other lame mistakes inside the book, it looked more like a scrapbook (or even crapbook).
:flowers: And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to BRYNA who's turning sweet 16 :clink: on November 3 :hugz:.

Heather, Awww your sister is soo cutie!! How old is she?
And I tried fixing it up on Photoshop for you but I don't know if it looks any better. :shy:

Same, I ended up doing schoolwork on Halloween as well
Yearbook Club.. I've always wanted to join it but then my highschool didn't really had one. The graphics teacher just got the students who took Graphics 12 to do it.. and most of them were like a year younger so .. I think it's definitely worthwhile to join!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRYNA!!!! SWEET 16!! :flowers:
Heather, your sister's so cute xD
I didn't go trick-or-treating either- I was doing school work too >___<
The only club I've joined this year is Amnesty International~ I wanted to join Yearbook club but then I missed the first meeting so ahah nevermind >___<
It's snowing right now >___< I don't want it to snow- getting to the bus stop and waiting for the school bus tomorrow morning will be hell! Lucky for the trick-or-treaters that it didn't snow yesterday because it would have been realy cold!
Thanks Karen and Heather for the happy birthdays :hugz: I'm really excited ^^ I'll finally be 16 xD !

 Hey! Everyone I'm back. It's been a few months since my last post. The weather is slowing everything down eh? Even the posts are slowly moving.
Karen: Thanks, for helping me with the photo. How was your exams?
Bryna: Now that you're 16, can you get your license?
It's been a hectic time since my last post. Had to finalize my choices of universities.
It's the holidays, why do teachers still give homework? :ranting: Let's see, on Christmas the weather was snowing/raining and same with New Years Eve. Not a very white Christmas or New Years. I was at a family Christmas party on Christmas and same on New Years Eve. Hmmm :hmm:, right when midnight struck I was playing mah-jong! :brows: Although:
MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR!
It's a brand new start in 2006.

Bryna, no unfortunately I didn't do anything interesting on New Years Eve..
On New Years Eve night, I spent the before hours mainly watching stuff  ..clips on my computer, countdown shows (ones from NY, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Seattle), the Korean drama Love Story in Harvard...
Heather, no.. my exams didn't do too well.. it was also been a hectic time for me since my last last post. However, it's a brand new semester for me in a couple of days. I hope you are doing okay with the university applications/grades etc!! Good Luck!!
Over here.. it's been constantly raining. I can't wait until March or something ..

 Welcome ijeff/Zhaohe :?, ruckuschica, and serene_dreamz!
serene_dreamz: I'm from Toronto too, which area are you from? I'm from Jane and Finch, heard of that place?
Zhaohe: LOL! We should start a petition for Jay to come to the EAST side of Canada. WEST side had their chance, it should be our turn now. LOL. J/K. :wink2:
Sounds like we are all too bsuy with exams, eh?
Just had mines this past week. For sure I failed my calculus exam. I went to ask for my mark today and my final mark was like a 68. "something", but she said she bumped it up to a 70%. God bless her!
Well this new semester just started and will go by easier for me. I have pretty much easy courses. I have a spare right in the morning (sleep ), photography (no writing class), international business (teacher is more lazier than I am), and data management (easiest Math of all). I think I should be starting on my portfolio for York U Fine Arts and Ryerson Interior Design.
My friend wants to get into York U Schulich (Is that how you spell it :? Shoe-lick! :bleh:). I think it's the best business program in the country. It requires like +90% average.
Well anyone a superbowl fan? Not me, but I know it's coming this Sunday. Who's playing who? I hope there's no more of that Janet Jackson thing. *Shrugs*
LOL! I just looked at this thread again. It seems like Zhaohe is the only male posting with more than 2 posts.

Heather: Wow, I hope you get excepted in to York U or Ryerson! One of my friend is a first year Interior Design student at Ryerson too Good Luck with everything! It must be a very stressful/hectic time for you right now eh?
I am not a Superbowl fan either. I am usually interested in it because of the half time performance :D
Heather: this new semester is going to kill me T__T I have Chem, social and Math >__< my last semester was so slack compared to this! I hope you get into the uni of your choice! I think my parents are making me stay at U of Calgary =P
Not a big fan of the superbowl either- I don't really get why everyone is so excited about it!

Welcome Kevin! Heather is from Toronto
Anyone here subscribe to the Mandarin channel? Because if you do, you should watch it tonight! They have this show called 'Dai Gor Dai' (Cantonese pin-yin) and Jay is going to be on it! I watched it about 2 hours ago but I think they repeat it again later tonight. He doesn't sing any songs from November Chopin but he did do a collab of "Dad, I'm Back" with the hosts, another song from the host, played a piece on the piano for another host, and played a short piece of Chopin's.
Karen: I got an offer of Early Admission and now my mom is telling me to just accept the offer...but I don't want to T_T blahh
I don't have the Mandarin Channel- I wish I did (because don't you get k-dramas as well xD?) There was an article on Jay in the paper yesterday :excited: it was the news about him supposedly trying to avoid army service but still, I was so excited to see a picture of his face in a Canadian paper :D
Has anyone been following the Winter Olympics? When Canada was still in the hockey, everyone's eyes were glued to the screen in class! Even in the library, we had the TVs on and everyone was just watching the hockey. Too bad we lost  and it was a goal!! Too bad the ref lost sight of the puck T_T But we're doing well in the other events- GO CANADA GO!
Oh and WELCOME Kevin!

02-28-2006, 12:45 AM
Bryna: Congrats on your acceptance! Hmm, so U of Calgary is not your first choice? I am not sure.. but when I applied to uni.. I accepted all the offers lol coz I was really worried that I won't get accepted to any.
Yup, I've been following the Winter Olympics! Well somewhat  I made a post in the Winter Olympics thread but no one replied lol. My younger bro told me everyone at his school went on 'washroom breaks' during class just to watch the hockey game on tv (the tv was on in the hallways):D I am surprised that we got 24 medals but thats a good thing we did so well  I am excited about Vancouver 2010!
Kevin: What are you studying at York?

Hihi ^^ I'm Ying from North Vancouver, BC =] Ahh spring break soon ^^;;...i have a Q...I'm taking summer school again and I'm taking Bio11; is it hard?
chang454
03-04-2006, 07:55 PM
hello everyone. i'm from waterloo ontario.
ying64: i took bio11 and it wasn't that bad, but there was alot of stuff to learn and i don't know if it'll be a good idea to take in summer school. that'll mean you have to learn everything in like a month. anyways good luck.
ps my fav unit was the internal organs unit. we got to disect a pig's heart and fetal pig. it was sad but really fun. i don't know if you'll get the chance to do that in summer school.
panda_shine
03-04-2006, 08:14 PM
Kevin: No, I don't go to York. I am in the West coast
Welcome Kimmy! I am doing okay.. just busy with school work!
Ying: I had friends who took Bio 11 in summer school and they said it's so much easier to do it in summer than in the school year.
Chang454: I disected a fetal pig too in Bio 12! It was quite interesting and fun!

panda_shine: Hi  ...isn't it spring break over there yet? :-)
ying64: I don't know about bio11 but all the classes i took during summer school are much easier than regular school year
:? I got a little question for everyone...well i live in montreal...went to chinatown to get Jay's CD...it was quite expensive. My bf got me Jay's CD and DVD :excited: during his trip to Vancouver and it was much cheaper...is it normal...
When will Jay hold a concert in Canada  hehehe I doubt about it tho...what you guyz think?
ying64
03-06-2006, 05:40 AM
Chang & Panda_shrine - Ooooh thanks for the info~ I think it'll be easier in summer cuz no bio projects...haha.
Kimmy - Hmm cheaper? It was the real CDs too right? Where did he buy it from? Ooh and Jay did held ONE concert in Vancouver before, and I missed it! Argh ><~ He might have another world tour in 2006 so I hope he comes?
panda_shine
03-06-2006, 07:11 AM
Kimmy: No, uni spring breaks are over.. but high school get spring breaks in 2 weeks. Hmm, I am not sure how much cheaper it is compared to Montreal but I don't find Jay's cd THAT cheap here compared to say, HK. But I guess it's cheaper than Montreal because there's a bigger Chinese community? Not sure, heh.
kimmy_ok
03-07-2006, 01:58 AM
ying64 & panda_shine: When and where did he hold a concert in Vancouver?? I used to live in Richmond and didn't know anything about it  ...just hope he will be planning to have a world tour soon :worry: hmmm if he does, i'm sure he will either go to Toronto or Vancouver...or New York...Would you guyz make a trip to see him in concert???
.
.
Since Vancouver is closer to Asia and there's a bigger Chinese community, there are more CD and DVD available, especially in Richmond. Here, Montreal chinatown is quite small and there are just few asian cd stores so it's frustrating

vancouver... is it true that you can choose to take chinese in high school and get a credit for it?
panda_shine
03-11-2006, 03:12 AM
Kimmy: I can't remember exactly when he held a concert in Vancouver but I believe it was in GM Place, the arena that they play NHL hockey in. If he has a concert in Toronto or NY, nah I don't think I will go hehe. Well, at least I don't think my parents would be willing to pay for it.  Would you be going if he does?
chang454: Yup, some high schools has Mandarin 9-12 but it really depends on the school.. whether there's a lot of Chinese or not.. but mine offered it.
kimmy_ok
03-13-2006, 04:35 AM
panda_shine: GM place? nice...hmmm If there's a Jay Chou concert in Toronto or New York, i will definetely go since it's quite close to Montreal :-) ...if it's in Vancouver...hmmmm...yeahh probably coz i have relatives there :D and i was planning to take some vacation there...also, I can't wait for the olympics in 2010 (4 years seems so long but it's coming)!!! Anywhere else then no, i won't be able to
natata_4_ever: Welcome welcome...how are you?! :-)
panda_shine
03-13-2006, 05:49 AM
Kimmy: Aww.. that's lucky that you get to go. I probably can only go to the Vancouver one. About Winter Olympics 2010, I am excited too! Are you planning on coming here to watch? The speed skating rink will be like.. less than a 10 minute drive from my house. I am just worried about how terribly crowded (traffic jams etc) our city might become.. but I guess that shouldn't be a bad thing since it'll increase the tourist industry! :D

It's been kind of hectic here for me. BTW, I live in the GTA, well in Toronto to be more specific. Jane and Finch. :bleh: I go to Westview Centennial Secondary School, any of you know that place?
Wow, so far I've seen 2 or 3 Ontarians. Yay! I'm not the deserted Ontarian. You guys live near Pacific Mall! Cool! I just went there like two days ago on a Saturday where non-Asian malls are packed so that we could find a quick parking spot.
Nice meeting you all!
Oh oh oh!!! For my fellow Ontarians, do you know where I could get like a necklace. Well more of a choker. :shifty: I've bought my prom dress and I'm thinking of matching it with a choker and that hand wrist thingy. If you watched Ayumi Hamasaki's Pride video, you'll get what I'm saying.
Thanks! See ya!

Yea, those non-Asian malls were packed. You had to practically fight for parking spaces.
Edit: Oh! I just looked at the newspaper and found out Wang Leehom is coming to Canada for his world tour concerts. It also says for China, Japan, Sing Ma??? (Singapore and Malaysia?).

Time to bring back this thread to life....
How's everyone doing?
The weather in west coast is soo weird..
I was wondering if anyone here apply for Student loans?? I have a few questions to ask.
Pugwash
08-07-2006, 11:26 PM
What kind of questions? I'm located in Ottawa and I'm attending Carleton University's school of business.
There are two common types of student loans here in Ontario, one through the province which is interest-free till you graduate or one from the bank where interest takes effect immediately.
panda_shine
08-08-2006, 07:31 AM
Pugwash: Oh.. nevermind then, I thought it was the same throughout Canada  The one I am under at the moment is interest free until I graduate but not sure if it's the same?? I already got my questions answers already.. but just out of curiousity, does your student loans gave you grants? Because I recall the people who applied a few years ago received grants, but someone told me they stopped doing it now?
Pugwash
08-09-2006, 03:09 PM
I'm guessing grants and bursaries are the same thing, sort of like "free" money? If so, they still issue bursaries in my province. I got about $1500 in free money last year.
