Hosted by Alicia Keys, this global benefit features performances by both international and Asian artists such as Simple Plan, Hoobastank, Good Charlotte, Namie Amuro, Tata Young, and Jay Chou. Throughout the show, viewers are urged to donate to our partner UNICEF to help support the tsunami relief effort. Members of the audience at the venue are encouraged to send live messages of hope from mobile phones and through the internet which will appear on the screens of the set. The show also contains news packages featuring human stories of the tsunami disaster, from its impact to future challenges ahead. To be recorded at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Feb 3, 2005.

to clarify things, i checked my tv *(which does have the listings up til saturday of what's on tv) and here's what's happening:

Thursday 2-3-05; 10am-12:30; MTV2
Friday 2-4-05; 8pm-9; MTV

and well, yes i do have school but i'm gonna tape it :P
don't woory i'm guessing that there are a couple ppl here that will catch teh perf and then upload a video or something. but yea, i mean its an hr and 1/2 difference.. guess why??? taking out alot of the asian acts i'm guessing (since it IS on MTV and more ppl watch it)

mtv is so weird. I checked the website for mtv and all their listings and it says that it will be on from 10-12. Does that mean that they will cut something out? cause it was 10-12:30 before.

yo!!!!!! i JUST watched jay chou perform on the mtv asia aid!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i watched it on my laptop with streaming video.....it felt like i was there and i had goosebumps all over watching jay's performance on mtv2!!! hells yeaaaaahhhh! go jay!!!!

i took some pix with my cell fone, eh not the best of quality, but i really didnt know what else i could've done =\ will upload the pix after i get back later. gotta run for class now.....!!!!!!

oh yea he performed "Snail" and "Qi Li Xiang"!!!!!!!! :D and the fans were crazy too!!! sooo nice =]
and alicia keys' intro of him was like "he conquered hk, singapore, malaysia, china, and even las vegas!!" DAMN RIGHT THAT'S OUR JAY!!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i had to go to school before jay's performance came! i'm SO MAD! i got up at six for nothing and then i found out i had a math quiz the next period..........does anybody have a clip of jay singing? i don't know if what i did with hinet was right.

i don't have mtv2.........AHHHHHHHHHH and mtv is only airing for an hour, so that means they're cutting out all the asian acts. how sad.

i hope someone in this forum can post it yet! i don't think the hinet thing i dled recorded it because it says "received head" or something and then i press play or whatever and nothing happens.

I'm so proud of Jay...:D He made it on American TV!!!

Ah...I missed it but my cousin's friend and my other friend recorded it for me...so it's all good! I'll get to see it eventually.

I think the MTV one they're airing might be short because they cut the commercials. A lot of the commercials don't even apply to the US so maybe they cut the commercials instead of the Asian performances?

We'll see tomorrow...

lol nah the streaming video was the live show, so it was only showing along with the live performance from 10-12:30 this morning...its the same thing as watching it on tv

jessica:the one that i watched on streaming video today was the same exact thing as what was showing on mtv 2 today, but some ppl said that tomorrow's show will be editing out the asian performances, however im not sure if thats true, i'll watch it neways, if i realize that its different, then i'll just turn the tv off and say "Screw you mtv!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xP" hahaha

and i didnt watch the entire show, cuz literally RIGHT AFTER jay's performance, it was time that i had to leave for a 11:30 class lol....talk about perfect timing, i was so ready to skip class just to wait for his performance too hehe

The one shown on MTV2 is the full 2 hours. It was on at 10am-12pm.... I don't have that channel though.

MTV will show it at 8pm-9pm so they obviously edited out selected parts -_-

ahhh....just watched his performance. My friend recorded the whole thing for me. So happy!!!! he seemed kind of nervous and the ring thingy was weird. Was it sliding off or something? But he still managed to look cool. Couldn't believe all his fans and all the posters people were holding.

hey i just wathed the mtv one. it wasnt the best because they only showed 10 seconds for all the asian singers. that so sad. i was looking forward to seeing jay's whole performance and they only showed 10 seconds of it. and i went to that website that shows the whole performance but that doesnt work anymore. is there any more website where they show the whole performance?

i wasn't aware of this performance but caught the 10s bit by chance when my friends were watching tv. it's stupid to cut out the asian acts! as if there aren't any asians/ jay fans in the US, which we all know is not true.

if someone is able to put up the full clip of jay's performance or send it to me, i'd be glad to host it so that everyone else can download it.

pardon me for sounding so desperate... but the 10s that i saw were so good! i've been to two concerts and i've never seen him sing that passionately before. i need more!

altogether jay was on my tv for 10 secs, from when alicia keys intro'd him to when he sang "wo niu". -___- i watched the whole darn thing hoping to get a glimpse of jay, and thats exactly what i got. :rolleyes: oh well.

i guess they had a purpose in editing out all the asian acts on mtv. the purpose of the aid show was to catch people's attention, and if they saw someone singing in a language they didn't understand, maybe they would have just flipped the channel and not paid any attention. not saying that cutting out the acts were right though.

ah..the ring thing..i guess it kind of slipped off cause he didn't lift his other hand from the piano. he kinda was the only one with two songs...even though good charlotte and simple plan kinda did more than one.

jessica: he removed the ring at the beginning of the qi li xiang, well after he started singing for a little while, he wasnt shy or nervous or awkward, it happened very naturally and quickly..if u werent quick or observant enough, u might not even catch it.

i dunno if jay is the only one that performed 2 songs, because i didnt get to see many of the other parts, all i needed was the merely 6 mins or so of jay and i was satisfied xD

someone already have the clips of jay's performance up, its somewhere on the forum, i know i've seen it somewhere

Actually he did take it off in the middle of the performance. Im not sure when but he is actually singing and playing the piano when he kinda slided it off. I almost screamed my head off when he did that. I was actually worried if he had a chance to grab it before "running" off the stage.
