I got this article from a Malaysia Tabloid magazine (TV Times), managed to make a rough translation of the article....... For those who had seen the article do corret me if i stated anything wrong....... and excuse my English, dun laugh too loud at my grammaritcal errors.... okay?

BTW, the editor's note does not reflect I say..... I didn't say anything after this line!!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jay Chou, concerned that Jolin Tsu may not be able to take all the media pressure, is willing to make more female friends to take the media attention off her, giving her more breathing space.

In Jay Chou's third album, "The 8th Dimension", the song "An Hao" (Secret Code) invited speculations that the song was written to reflect the relationship between Jay and his rumoured girlfriend, Jolin Tsu. But Jay merely stated that the song was written by a member of the production company he belonged. Although he did feel that the lyrics may invite unwanted rumours, but he also did not want to waste such a well-written set of lyrics. Furthermore, not using the piece may even imply that he had something to hide. After some discussion, he still carried on with the decision to use the piece.

At the same time, Jay felt that it was not fair for Jolin Tsu to be constantly associated in rumours with him, as the media pressure a female artiste had to face is usually more than that faced by a male artiste.

"Perhaps among my circle of friends, she is the only girl that I am more familiar with, and that's why the media made a huge fuss over it (their relationship). They made the headlines along the lines of 'Girl chases Guy' kind of theme. I think I will try to make more female friends, so as to divert the media attention."

Spreading the Chinese Music

Other than tabloid gossip about Jay Chou, his music is also another source of exciting news for the Chinese. Jay admits that from his first album till this latest album, there was a strong presence of music associated with the Chinese culture. He believes in writing music from the perspective of the Chinese, and will be maintaining the standard of music production throughout all his future albums, and include music that reflects the Chinese culture.

"One day, should a foreigner ask me about my music, I am proudly take out my albums and introduces "Niang zi"(Wife), 'Shuang Jie Kun' (Nunchuks), 'Long Chuan' (Dragon Fist)...etc. Let them know about our Chinese music, and spread the Chinese music to other parts of the world. Let the West know we can do more than just copying music styles from them."

First the Japanese market, then the music markets of Europe and US.

Jay had always wanted to break into the music markets of the Japanese and States. Following the successful entry into the Japanese music world by his good friend Luo Zhi Xiang, Jay is envious of the achievement of his friend, and is tempted to join in the wagon, but holds back for fear of making a hasty decision.

Jay considers Japan to be part of Asia, and since they are Asians, he should break into the Japanese music market before attempting the US Billboards. However, the Japaneses are usually not receptive of music from other cultures, hence he must overcome this barrier so as to open the Japanese market. In spite of this unreceptive attitude, Jay feels that music is an universal language, and would like to work with musicians from other countries like Japan, and the States. He hopes to be able to interact with other artistes, working on music like soul or hip-hop. One of the musicians Jay would like to work with is Babyface, but he stated that the chances of the two of them collaborating is quite un
likely.

When asked, over the long-distance phone interview, about the recent incident tha

t he was "sold" to another music company by his mentor Jacky Wu, he said, with trances of embarrassment, "(I was) Not really "sold", he (Jacky Wu) had his own problems, and this is unavoidable. We still keep in contact; go out for meals quite often. I also missed him sometimes!"

Editor's Note: Jolin Tsu is so fortunate to have such a talented boyfriend who always thinks for her.
